To those people commenting “if you don’t like math then maybe you should find another career route”. Please, just stop. Pursuing my goals in my dream career were delayed because of comments like this. I can’t stand math, but not liking a subject doesn’t mean you can’t be good at it. It simply means it’s not your favorite subject. With practice and determination, you can be great at anything. Life is too short not to try. After 24 years of not believing in my capabilities, I applied into an accelerated nursing program, passed my TEAS exam, and got accepted. I’m currently a 2nd year nursing student expected to graduate in December who has passed every math dosage calculation exam with 100%. Medical math is different and the formulas used are different than what you learn outside of the medical world. Bella, you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to accomplish. Follow your goals and dreams and never let people make you feel that you are not smart enough to accomplish becoming a surgeon. Go for it! You got this 💪🏼

Crystal- I like Bella's advice (tied with Aaron's) is great, especially for those that are new or on the shy side. It is hard to step outside of your comfort zone but socializing (parties, activities) are the best way to meet people.

Bella I live about 2-3 hours from John Hopkins depending on traffic, lol. They have an amazing cardio surgery department that saved my grandsons life when he was born and they still perform his surgeries cause child heart disease sometimes requires multiple surgeries as they grow so their heart needs surgical help to grow with the child. You will do amazing!

I would HIGHLY suggest Alex takes Mella to training so she doesn't bolt when the door is open, that's how dogs get ran over. Especially because they live right above a busy parking lot.

Ohhhh it made me so happy to hear that Bella wants to go to Johns Hopkins University! My younger brother started his freshman year there as a Biomedical Engineer student and is loving it so far! It is such a great school when it comes to the STEM/Medical majors! If Bella continues to work hard I’m sure she can make it!😄

Bella’s advice 🤣 Girl, a lot of us struggle being social! I love her! I love Aaron’s advice. Students do get kinda cliquey. I remember when in high school everyone had this mindset where you could only be friends with people who were on your same team or club, same grades & sometimes even same race. When I was a freshman I HATED school. I had a very difficult time fitting in. Not just with other students, just the high school experience all together. I was asked to join drama club so I did. Best time of my HS life. What I loved the most is that the other kids were so diverse. Jocks, nerds, geeks and everything in between. We all got along with each other amazingly and that led to us communicating with each other outside of drama club. So if you feel like you can’t fit in, try to do something you love. And if there’s no club for you, talk to your counselor. Maybe you can start a club. Wether that be a Dungeons and Dragons club or hip hop dance or book club or heck, maybe even movie watching! High school doesn’t always feel like we fit in but we can always find ways for high school to fit us, if that makes sense. Edit: Class of 2011 ❤️

I would say don't worry about being popular. That drama ends with high school. Most are likely to come out with one or two forever friends from high school. The "popular" people don't always end up where you thought they would. Don't let high school be your only claim to fame. It is a pebble in your stream of life.

I am currently a 27 year old Early Childhood Educator from Ontario, Canada and I am planning on going back to school online and part time in September for Children’s Mental Health. I haven’t been to school in 7 years but I’m quite excited. Learning is a life long journey!!

So Hannah I did so good in French one like straight A’s and then I got a teacher that really didn’t like me so I didn’t like her back and I flunked French 2. It’s sad when teachers are like that because it discouraged me and I did not go on in French. I regret it. Good for Bella choosing a career besides KZfaq. One piece of advice that took me until high school to learn. Teachers love it when you ask them questions. They feel appreciated and they can see that you are actually trying. I think it also helps when they are giving out grades. They become your advocate and they want you to be able to do your best.

this was a great video. I'm doing asynchronous grad school classes and it's so nice to not have to adhere to a strict schedule. I still have due dates and what not but it's so much easier when you don't have to have your HW done by 10:00am tomorrow. As for algebra, that can be VERY hard. I almost failed Geometry and had to get a tutor. Best thing to do for subjects you don't understand, is GOOGLE or peer tutoring. Pair up with someone who understands the subject better than you. OR google. It's more important to understand the concept at the end of the day than anything else. I also encourage the post-it note method. That's where you take a post-it and put a note on your HW that says "I didn't understand this at all can you go over this with me?" you will have to sacrifice "personal time" probably but you will get the opportunity to better understand the material and do better in the class overall. on a completely different note, is Hallie still going to college / taking College classes? j/c

Bella’s advice IS great, what do you mean. I have social anxiety, I swear if you treat it, as best as you can (I can’t afford therapy or something), you will feel comfortable eventually! Going to parties and games, you really meet people and find some gems, your teens is theeeee time to have tons of friends who probably won’t last forever and might even backstab you lol, it’s part of life. So yeah do not fully trust someone, that doesn’t mean you stop trusting at all, or becoming a hermit. Then as you grow you will have your 2 close friends and it will be more than enough. But y’all are young, just enjoy! Make mistakes, own up to them, learn from them, appreciate them for the wisdom they gave you and try to just be better, as you can never be perfect. Be sad, be awfully sad, cry a lot, love a lot, laugh a lot. And you know? Sometimes you gotta fake it til you make it, the persooon I was at 15 is not the same one I was at 17. I faked my confidence, my self esteem, my sudden social extroversion because I was in a new school, and then I became that. Somewhere in between actually. I still am me, with the anxiety, depression, and many things I have to cope. To anyone reading, specially teens, enjoy and if life feels like the end of the world, let yourself feel it. It’s ok to not have it figured it out, truth is, once you grow up you keep figuring stuff out. I’m 22, in med school, now all I know is I know nothing as some philosopher said.

Johns Hopkins is in Baltimore, MD. Not Boston. Johns Hopkins is the absolute best for Med School and probably Residency. I used to work for UC San Francisco for years and it’s also an amazing Medical School. They also have a great residency program. ❤️❤️❤️
