Hi Tyler. Good tutorial overall. However towards the latter part, you describe features only available in Pro and I don't have that. I may upgrade but as it is now, the button doesn't look nice on the page in the non paid version. But I can see this working well if you have Pro. Thanks.

On a colored footer, it leaves some white margin so what I did was adding negative margin (-20) to the column though this will vary by the size of the button that is what I did and someone might find it helpful

You may need to set your header to the ID that your button links to. Some people have found that to work! Thanks for stopping by!

TIP: just add a new plug-in "TO TOP " . then go to customize and to top options and adjust the basic settings.

The section you've added at the bottom of this page is unfortunately visible as a tiny block when u have other background than white. If even changed that color you got a tiny space extra onto your page too...how to solve this?

Problem with this is when the container is over a link it is covered up and cannot be clicked.

Great tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for. Do you know if the Advanced / Motion Effects changed in the latest Wordpress / Elementor (free) update, as my settings are way different than what you show in the video. I can select "Fade In," but that seems to be it on settings. I am new to your channel and definitely clicked the "Like" and "Subscribe" buttons!

I just put out a video about Motion Effects today, so I actually looked into this: Unfortunately from what I can tell Motion Effects are only in Elementor Pro. Hey sorry to hear that. In doing more research it looks like this is an Elementor Pro Feature only. (At least the transparency change on scroll effect is, the backbone of a button that scrolls to an anchor should still work on the free version, I believe). If you're interested in upgrading I have a link in the description, or if you have upgraded and still don't see it, you most likely just need to update your plugin. Thanks for the question!

Thanks for the video. I have a query. Same process as mentioned in the video but the scenario is header sticky topped with ID CSS. Now the Top button function not working properly. Thanks.

Oh I see. You could set the CSS ID of the top section of your page (on each page) and then have the top button jump to that section (instead of your header). Does that make sense?

Hey thanks for stopping by! If you're still interested in linking to a specific part of another page you'll simply add the url to the link of the other page then at the end put "#SectionIDNameGoesHere". So for example I have a section on the other page that I've set an id for of "AboutSection" then I make a link on another page and for the link url I would put: example.com/about/#AboutSection Hope that helps, if you can't figure it out just google it. There's tons of resources on how to do it!

Thiago Lovizzaro Hey thanks so much for the comment! What I’ve found is the easiest solution to achieve this, is to add it to the header template. Even though it will be outside the “normal header area” it will still be attached to the header template. So set the position to “fixed” for the button (as this tutorial shows you) but just build the whole thing out in your header template. Now, anywhere you’re header is shown on your website your scroll to top button will also be on the page. (Just keep in mind if you use the “Elementor canvas” page layout your header is not displayed, thus your scroll to top button will also not be displayed) I hope this helps. Is it possible that most of the motion effects are only for people who have elementor pro? Because I can't find the sticky option

Yes it is possible. Sorry about that, you may check for a "scroll to top" wordpress plugin that may work, or I recommend upgrading to Elementor Pro! Check out my link in the description of this video! Hope that helps!

@@TylerEMorrison I use the "Float To Top Button"-Plugin which works fine on every page of the site, wether made with elementor, or a wp backend-builder. This Plugin seems to me the perfect solution, if you only work with the free version of elementor and/or work on sites with mixed (Pages made with Gutenberg/Classic Editor/Elementor) Sites as I do. Nevertheless I put this video to my favorites, because it's verx well explained. Greetings from Germany

Hey Tyler, my button responds very slowly when I click it. Do you know if there is a way to increase the speed to make it react faster? I have the free version of Elementor.

Hey Christina, I've been doing some research to help try and solve the issue you're facing. However, I'm not finding many solutions, and I'm also not seeing this issue replicated anywhere else. I'm sorry about that, however I have a few steps for you to try. 1. The scroll feature is assuming the browser can handle it. I personally tested the tutorial page in this video on Google Chrome (which is my main browser) and safari, with successful quick speeds on both. You may want to try opening your page from different browsers, or devices. 2. Plugins can conflict with each other on wordpress. I would try safely disabling plugins one at a time to try and weed out any culprits. I've had to do this before and it helps you find the issue plugin. 3. If your elementor plugin is out of date I would try updating it. (The difference between Elementor Free vs Elementor Pro shouldn't be affecting the scroll speed) 4. Lastly, I will be putting out a very generic troubleshooting video and the steps I take to diagnose my own website issues. It'll be generic but maybe it will help you out. Sorry, I can't be of help, I really hope you're able to solve that issue somehow! Thanks for stoping by, I wish you luck!
