As with most things, how well it sells depends on how vintage, on the particular style, and so on. Some items will be worth a dollar, some will be sought after. T-shirts are mostly not a hot item though.

Donating inventory isn't a tax deduction because inventory eventually becomes part of your COGS. Donating personal items generally isn't going to be deductible unless your itemized deductions (like donations, property tax, mortgage interest etc) exceeds the standard deduction. The standard deduction was increased a few years ago and very few people itemize these days.

I also do not bother to take donations off my taxes anymore. The reason is does not help anymore is that the IRS raised the "standard deduction" that anyone can claim on their taxes. I do still donate a lot like you do because it is the ethical and allows us to reuse items over again.

My daughter once found a $100 dollar bill in a jacket she tried on at a resell shop. She was ecstatic because she was broke between jobs and felt it a miracle. Keep doing what you're doing Taco!!! You are an exceptionally nice person. God Bless You!!!

Your tax situation will determine whether those donations will make a difference or not. In my case it makes no difference, so I don’t even bother to get the donation receipts. Everybody’s tax situation is different. If you itemize it may make a difference. If you take the standard deduction, as most do, it probably does not make a difference. it still feels good to donate!
