I’m rewatching this because I was too sick to really focus the first time but the thing I remember the most from my first watch was how quickly you got me laughing and smiling with the frog bit at the beginning. One of the few moments I had while sick where I just felt good even for a few minutes. Your videos always feel like spending time with a friend and it was just what I needed even if I couldnt fully focus (and I thought my simping for you was embarrassing until I watched you drooling all over Leon. Good lord, Tor) Anyway, im off to finish my rewatch so I can actually focus on your struggles even though you’re not that bad at the game…mostly. kinda. I might be being nice in saying that

It was fun watching! I hope you continue uploading more RE4. One little tip (if you know and I missed it, my applogies) about selling treasure. If the item says (For selling only), you can sell it with no worries. But if it doesn't say that then it means it can be combined with another treasure by slotting in gems, which will raise its value. When you're in the treasure slotting menu, if you press the Square button (playstation) it will bring up a chart that shows which color combinations are the best.

Honestly, you're actually doing pretty good. You've nailed the parrying almost instantly. Don't worry about not getting used to the quicker pace. The original RE4 was also a shift to a more fast-paced, action-horror as opposed to the previous games' slower survival horror gameplay, and also took a bit to get used to for a lot of people, but once you get the hang of it it starts to really click. It was also the game that pioneered the over-the-shoulder camera and revolutionized third-person shooters, so without RE4 there'd be no The Last of Us.

Parrying with the knife, especially the one you sold 😂 , is also a lifesaver Also, there's a bug on PS5 where it looks unecessarily blurry unless you turn off "Lens Distortion" & "Motion Blur" completely in the Display Options

Not sure if it works the same in the remake but in the original, if you ran right to the house with the shot gun, ran to the rooof, and wait for the chainsaw guy, you can take him out and then everyone leaves so you don't have to run around as long.

Okay, so from what I can tell, you're having trouble with running out of ammo and weapon firepower. Upgrade your guns. I can't stress this enough. A lot of us, on our first playthroughs, just go nuts buying all of the weapons (because new stuff!) and then struggle with ammo, space and firepower. Keep your weapons that you have now and upgrade their power asap. Make sure you get the treasures located on the map to sell to the merchant so you'll have money for upgrades. The game gets really fun when you can one shot an enemy in the leg with your pistol and blow it clean off. Later on, when the merchant has a new weapon in the same category, you can sell the upgraded weapons back to him, buy the new ones and upgrade them as well. Hope you stick with it, it gets even better.

You can upgrade your weapons with the merchant and you can sell the gems and jewels to merchant or add them to other items you find and sell them.for more money for more upgrades

Darn, I didn't realize until I had finished that this playthrough was only a single video, very surprising especially when it's a game of a favorite character. I feel a bit teased and robbed. Although I played the demo, the reason I'm only watching this now rather than when it was released 5 mos ago was because I didn't want to spoil scenes from the remake until I had played it myself, but with me having to pay taxes from last year off still right now, being able to afford the game still hasn't been a possibility so I figured it must not be TOO different from the original and decided to indulge with Tofu's gameplay being the first I've watched, de-virgining my RE4 Remake experience.

You know, I was gonna get some drawing done after a late dinner. Then I saw this was uploaded and made some popcorn instead. Drawing can always wait when there's a new Tofu video to see. This was an absolute blast to watch, Tor. I've told you before that your videos always make my day, and this was no exception. Just pure enjoyment through and through. Well, other than the first encounter with the chainsaw guy and the point where you were getting overwhelmed toward the end of the first village, because I did feel legitimately bad for you during both those moments. Having not played this one, I can't speak to the difficulty of it - to this point or to come - but I can say my enjoyment was not in spite of your playing. You did perfectly fine dealing with a new game that throws a *lot* of enemies at you. Like, seriously, they really love endless waves of enemies and massive damage sponge enemies, don't they? I think you're honestly doing better with it than you realize, but like I told you the other day, if the difficulty is hurting your enjoyment and lowering it would mean having a better time with the game, then I say lower it and don't look back. Play the game however works best for you and enjoy your time with it as best you can. As to how/where to continue it? I mean, I love a good old fashion KZfaq playthrough, but if you think playing it on Twitch will be a better experience for you, I'm down with that too. Doubly so if you're up for doing the hybrid "stream VOD repackaged for KZfaq" idea you mentioned. In any case, wherever you continue it, you know I'll be there to watch. You and Leon always make for great company.

Leon was 21 in RE 2. In RE 4, he's 27, and he has ptsd due to what happened 6 years before. This mission is actually his first job after his training. In this game, they're not zombies. They are infected with a parasite or plaga (plague) that makes them like that. That parasite is controlled by Saddler, the one responsible for all this mess! Great gameplay!! ❤

I got to do this game replay eventually I played the original resident evil 4 and beat it with 22 seconds on the clock before the place blew up that number has stayed with me over the years for some reason I guess it's cuz it's my first beating of that game. I'm probably going to live stream a resident evil game as well but it'll probably be village before this it's just too much fun same with the DLC if you have any phobia of mannequins or dolls that game will f*** you up which I don't but I could see how a lot of people would

Here's a little tip (not spoiler) if you DIE(GAME OVER) in a BOSS fight or whatever, you can down grade the level from standard to assist in the gane over screen (layman's term: normal to EASY). Won't work on Hardcore or even professional BTW

The Ada actress has recently been getting some hate lately and it's unfortunate. 😢. While I do prefer the original actress more, I think she did fine. Not the level of Nick Apostildes or Nicole Tompkins but not horrible . She did sound kind of bored with some lines, but when she's talking with leon it sounds better. It wasn't great but no one deserves the hate she's been getting. If tofu or anyone else sees this I don't want this to lower your expectations. There's still some pretty good moments with her and I hope the actress gets a time to shine in a possible Assignment ada and or separate ways DLC. But that's just my opinion.
