This video has captured the sense of adventure and possibility afforded by the paramotor. I'm just over here trying to figure out how long it would take me to drive to Idaho to get a glimpse of that beautiful landscape. I wish this one would go viral so people could understand why we are passionate about paramotors!

Colten, this is probably the most beautiful content I have seen. Incredible edit, sound, colors. Breath taking. A bit scary and on the other hand relaxing and calm in a way that I would say no other paramotor YT pilot does this. The combination of adventure/bush/backcountry is just brilliant. Can't wayt for another video!

16:00min things you could do better? yes stop trolling us by having this new channel while your other channel with million subs is hidden somewhere! the cinematic shots after packing. music fits to sun poking over the mountain. overall bloody perfect video quality. there is no way you have just 700 subs. your channel looks super professional. the way you explain stuff is nice and makes all us keyboard warriors envy as heck that we are sitting here and cant do the same or be there. man this was insane. i remember i asked you to include some shots of fire making food and you really did it. channel like this are rare. i wish you all the best.

This was beautiful man. Thank you. My only suggestion… I was listening with earphones and there’s quite a lot of bass rumble in the very light breeze. If you put a high pass filter on the field recording audio, at around 100-120hz it will sound so much cleaner and none of the important audio (voice, nature sounds etc) will be affected at all. Thank you.

Your content is amazing!! As a newer pilot myself and trying to get into YT I do have a question...How do you hold your GoPro selfie stick under your leg? When I hold mine it just flips and rotates what do I need to do different? And keep up the videos they are so fun to watch.
@coltenwenger

I just stick mine under my leg. My selfie stick has a flat handle on the end which keeps it from rotating. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the cotent!

Those scout side bags are awesome, but I've found that they hit your fuel economy pretty hard (up to 15% for me). So keep that in mind if you're going for distance. The scout front bag is much better.
@coltenwenger
@coltenwenger 8 ай бұрын
Yeah they affect it a bit, but so does all the extra weight, I’ve been using them for several years now, and found them to be the best option. Thanks for the feedback.

Great video! I fly the same wing (Gin Vantage) just the other color option. Does that side mount bag block your reserve path? Maybe you where just showing it on that side for the video, but it looks like it would block a reserve deploy? Anyway, love the video. I am working towards some fly camping myself. Slowly building the gear and the skills to do it. Also live in Grizzly, black bear, wolf, lion country!
@coltenwenger
@coltenwenger 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it! Your gonna love fly camping, there’s nothing more fun to do with a paramotor in my opinion. The side mount bag does get in the way of the reserve somewhat, but I’m still able to deploy it it’s just slightly slower to get to the handle, but I have a way of doing it where it’s not too bad. I also attach that side bag slightly different than the other side, so that the reserve brindle is still able to come out without it getting caught up by the bag. Thanks for watching!

Hello. This is a real adventure! It seems you have a really great camera/lens as well. I'm wondering how much is the leg stress during landing. What is the weight of all your stuff (paramotor, fuel, food, camping, cameras, etc.). And what is your own weight?
@coltenwenger
@coltenwenger 6 ай бұрын
Less stress isn’t an issue at all, as long as the flare is properly timed. I personally weigh 190lb. And my all up weight with everything is normally around 310lbs by the time I’m fully loaded with all my camera/camping gear and fuel.

About the Chase Cam, the stock line is too long, you need to shorten it so that it goes over the hoop when landing, you will have no more issues with it, been there, done that
@coltenwenger
@coltenwenger 8 ай бұрын
Appreciate the tip man! Are you still able to get yourself and the whole wing in the shot? That’s the main reason I haven’t shorten in anymore
@alejoal2007
@alejoal2007 8 ай бұрын
@@coltenwenger yup, just play with the camera angle in the mount, if you need to point the camera up further than what the mount allows to get the whole wing in shot, just mount the camera upside down and you can point the camera as far up as you like

Do you guys ever worry about wind or thermals or whatever collapsing your wing? How do y'all prevent that if possible?
@coltenwenger
@coltenwenger 8 ай бұрын
Yes that is always a possibility, especially while flying in the mountains. With todays modern gliders they are very collapse resistant and safe, but it can still happen so we often tend to fly either in the mornings and evenings when the air is the calmest, and avoid midday especially during the warmer months. We also spend time practicing collapsing the wing on purpose during advance training clinics, and also while kiting the wing on the ground to help us learn how to react and recover the wing from a collapse. 👍🏻

I want to use my Paramotor for backcountry hunting, do you think this is possible with 70 lbs of gear?
@coltenwenger
@coltenwenger 4 ай бұрын
It would be pretty difficult…not impossible but you’d have to be able to run with 140+lbs of gear on your back. Also depending on which state you live in, you can’t hunt for 48hrs after flying in an aircraft. The best way to do a backcountry hunting trip is with a big tandem trike. I know guys who have done it and then they are able to easily carry all their gear plus they’re able to load the meat up on the trike after killing an animal and fly it out!

How is the gas smell in the tent?
