Thank you for this! Just bought one as a result of your video. For a Sprinter van build. Love that it's sooooo thin, and can fit in a very shallow slide-out drawer for cooking in the van!

I use several of GSI's products and respect the quality put into them. The Partner Steel 22" stove is a much higher quality stove. With a $510 price tag though. You get what you pay for.

GSI Pinnacle Pro Stove - $249 + $24 tax = $273. BTU 11,000 per burner. 20 x 12 x 1.5". Weight 10 lbs. Magnesium/Aluminum Camp Chef Everest 2 Stove - $84 + $8 tax = $92 on Amazon. BTU 20,000 per burner. 23.5"L x 13.5"W x 4.25"H. Weight 12 lbs Alloy Steel. I rest my case. I bought the Everest 2 model. It cooks much faster, costs MUCH less, and dimensions and weight are comparable. Plus it has better wind shields, and a nicer color. Don't get suckered by the slim size. So what?

I've read all the replies B4 composing the following: Nothing about the GSI stove that compels me to replace the classic Coleman 2-burner liquid fuel (pump it up) stove that I've had for more than 50 years. I use the space inside my stove for storing things like tableware, powdered soap, fuel funnel, seasonings, matches, a couple of Bic lighters, etc. when the stove isn't being used. I especially like being able to open the fuel tank & looking to see how much fuel it has B4 starting it. I do have & carry a Soto Windmaster 4-Plex when backpacking/hiking & always begin with a FULL 4oz canister thanks to my G Works Fuel Transfer valve that is designed to transfer fuel from my larger 16oz canister while at home & into the smaller 4oz canisters that I carry. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada.

I wouldn’t upgrade either, but I’d get this over the Coleman if I had nothing.

1) I completely agree. I’ve never paid more than $50 for a new coleman on close out, but typically I’ll be running a used one. I’ve never paid more than $40 for a used coleman. 2) are you saying that you refill butane cans with propane? I’d advise against that. You may have gotten away doing that thus far… but those cans aren’t designed for straight propane or they’d come that way.

@@Thereal111t NO, I'm saying I'm refilling the 4oz fuel canisters with the same stuff that originally was inside the canister.

@@azclaimjumper ok. The other thing about this gsi stove is that it seems to sacrifice all wind protection for a thin profile. I guess if space was that much of an issue, one could carry two small backpacking stoves with a splitter.

I use 1/2 pint liquor bottles for fuel storage inside my Coleman. They hold 12 oz of fuel. So, no more overflow. And there's room for the funnel, long lighter, and small vice grips as well. Yes, I purge my stove between outings. Refilling the bottles is easy and like I said, no spills.

Well it looks pretty sweet and GSI makes great gear imo. But the price seems a little steep. However if its built lifetime tough then I could see ponying up the Benjamins. The thin profile and braided propane hose are both very welcome improvements on the myriad of existing stoves out there.

I like it if someone were to give it to me on a special occasion. But I prefer to stay with my Coleman Classic 2 burner propane stove. It is cheap and very functional for my purposes. It simply does the job

Agreed, but to be clear it is a good design. However like you you I just don't see the minor upgrades(imho) to be worth that big of a price difference. If I had the funds I would purchase it in a heart beat.

Seems pretty nice. I like that the burners are wide. But for $250 it’s seems pretty steep. I think I’d rather go with a cheaply $70 Coleman and just replace it when it breaks

My favorite part of car camping is not really worrying about how much space items take up compared to backpacking. That said, it seems like the gold standard of camping 2 burner stoves. It's far more than I'm willing to ever spend but doesn't mean others won't be.

Looks like an awesome stove. We have an old Coleman two burner. Might be time for an upgrade. On my last trip out to Glacier Lake (taking a buddy on his first backpack trip!) we saw a group of about 5 younger guys camped near by and one of them hauled a two burner stove all that way. It was super funny. He was stoked that he had it haha.

Nice looking stove. But!!! Comes with a premium price tag. Just checked the web site and the retail cost is $249.95 and the storage bag is not included. It is priced at $29.95. To be honest I like all the features of the stove. But my wallet is not that deep. Good review and gave it a thumbs up.

I have that same eureka blue stove now and am thinking of upgrading to the GSI to save a ton of space in my drawer system, 1.5in thick vs like 4.25 to 4.5 is a big deal for sure. Also some of the popular camp chef stoves are approaching $200 and some go over. This is definitely one of those but once cry once, and sell my old stove to take a chunk out of this one.

The reason that they are able to make it so small is they are able to make the grate come up with the lid instead of it being one solid standing up piece!

Yeah I’ll stick with the Coleman. Quality I have had mine for 35plus years and my Grandfather’s 60 plus years old. Have I worked on them yes but not often. I have used them from Iowa to Colorado above 9000’ Elk hunting and temps in the single digits.

That looks like a really nice stove. I would seriously consider it if it was $150-175. At $250, it’s double any other table top stove. I would probably look into a camp chef stove that uses full size refillable propane tanks if I was going to spend that much. They don’t take up much more space than a coleman, (except for the bigger tank).

Great first look Devin! I think this is way too expensive for what it is for the average camper. The Coleman is around $76 on Amazon right now and weighs pretty close to the same as this unit. While I like the braided line and the lower profile of the side guards (pro/con, higher guards mean better wind protection but this one seems safer as you mention with the pot handles) and the piezo ignition I don't think it's enough to justify that hefty price tag. Nonetheless, great insight into a new product!

That design is fantastic and touches on all of the things I don’t like about other stoves. Ease of cleaning, overall footprint and canister attachment. It looks like the burners seat lower so that integrated windscreens aren’t necessary (thus allowing room for bigger skillets side-by-side) and raising the cooking surface so that more delicate cooking can occur. Really nice. The price really is the kicker. I get it. Supply chains are disrupted, demand has skyrocketed and the #vanlife #overlanding scenes have made this kind of kit at these prices commonplace. It’s priced for the market. I personally can’t swallow $250 for a camp stove, but I’m sure these will sell like hotcakes.

Hey Devin! Since this initial impression two years ago, wondering what your current opinion of this stove is? Is it still your go-to two burner for your family trips? Or have you passed it on? I’m in the market and have had my eye on this one, since it is so low profile. Need something for long, but epic national park road trips and as a weekend work horse for spring and fall wood kiln firing season. Looking for something versatile and dependable to feed 2 to 12 people. Space is definitely a consideration. Any suggestions besides the GSI are also welcome. Thanks in advance for your input! Keep Advocating & testing gear!

Hey! Thanks! I still have the GSI Pinnacle Pro and love it. It's been a solid stove and just keeps working. I've also started using the Primus Kinjia Stove and it's amazing. I think I like it more than the GSI, honestly. It doesn't have the side wings and so it's easier to put larger pots or griddles on it. If I was to get just one of them again, I'd probably opt for the Primus over the GSI. But honestly both are excellent stoves. The GSI is lower profile, so if that's important then that's worth considering.

looks cool, but does not make sense. If you are taking a double burner for a trip you are probably car camping or canoeing, so you dont care that much about space or weight. And considering you can get a coleman stove for a quarter of a cost this is just ridiculous. But the biggest problem i see how all piping and burners are enclosed within body, you probably would not be able to fix it on a trail if you needed.

Looks like it could be a generational stove like the old Coleman's. Every aspect of design is upgraded and thought out. Only concern is how much weight can it hold if I put two large pots on there. Still going to the top of my list for my next stove.
