A re-imagined homage to Six Flags Magic Mountain's now-removed Intamin/Giovanola Space Diver coaster "Flashback" (formerly "Z-Force").

ABOUT
---------------------------------------------------
Believe it or not, after all my years of playing and creating assets for NL2, this is literally my first coaster in NL2 to be released to the public! It was completely hand-built, so please go easy on me if some of the transitions aren't perfect (but hey, neither were the transitions on Flashback, haha). The goal of this park was to build a hyper-detailed coaster, with all the bells and whistles, in a small, compact space.

I really love when manufacturers bring back their old models but modernizing them to fit todays coaster standards

Yay! I am so happy to see this; it's a fresh take on something retro. I was super excited to play up that vibe with the video while showing off your incredible work.

Z Force! I got to ride it on its opening day at SFGAM. Head banger it was and I loved it.

A coaster like this just screams 80s nostalgia.

Nice. Sometimes I think I'm the only one (or one of few considering a previous comment) who ever has anything nice to say about Flashback. Your longer drops to ground level would have been welcome on the real ride since although I found its weird shallow diving loops interesting, they did get repetitive. I see you kept in the final upward helix. :-)

I remember when this coaster was the Z-Force at Six Flags over Georgia. By the time I was actually tall enough to ride it they had moved it out of the park and built The Ninja in its place.

Amazing that this ride was at Six Flags Great America first. This was well recreated with it being relocated.

I rode it once at SFMM. It had just one element, which it did 4 times down and 3 times up.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop the train in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another. Let's take a look at the block zones on Backflash. First we have the Station Block, followed by the Lift Block. Then we have A Block, B Block, and C Block in the middle of the ride. Finally, we have the Ready Block at the end, right before the station. While not a block, there is also a trim brake between blocks B and C. **trim brake noises**

Yeh, the history of this track style is actually quite interesting! I recommend looking it up sometime, but the gist is (if I remember correctly) that Bolliger & Mabillard originally designed the track style at Giovanola when they were employees there, and it was used on some Giovanola rides before the company went out of business. This is why the track on Goliath at SFMM (a Giovanola ride) also "looks" like B&M track. Bolliger & Mabillard left Giovanola to create B&M, and refined their track style to what we know it as today. The track style used in NL2 is indeed B&M (because there is no Giovanola option), but the ride is based on Flashback at SFMM, which was an Intamin model built by Giovanola: rcdb.com/128.htm
