Another tutorial on backgammon play for getting just beyond the basics. Here, I talk about the all out attack strategy of blitz plays, and how they can go wrong.

Hello :) I don't suppose you will ever see this comment but on the off-chance that you do I wanted to take a moment to thank you. Your videos inspired a great interest in backgammon for me and I went from knowing nothing about the game to now playing regularly. I bought my brother a set for his birthday, we both watched your videos and learnt how to play and now we play daily. Thank you so much for putting in this amount of time and effort. Your videos are fantastically easy to understand and very educational :)

Thank you so much for teaching me (among lots of others) play DECENTLY in just two days, after me just wondering for dozens of years what was that charming semblance of ordering chaos, that the wise bearded men in the neighbourhood were so obviously enjoying. I was playing it on PC yesterday, and I am ordering the felt one like yours today. You are wonderful at breaking it down to basics in a very logical order. Thank you!!! (and thank God and intelligent people for the Internet :))))

I haven't played backgammon in over 10 years. Your videos were very helpful in speeding up my relearning process. Thank you!

This Blitz strategy is awesome. Very high risk but that's what I like about it. If it goes right you can win extremely quickly

have loved this series. lots of people play at work, but with our short breaks (5-10min/hr) its a fast game. this is helping immensely (i no longer play the dreaded 4-1 as 13-8). thank you for all your effort!

I can't thank you enough for this thorough introduction to basic Backgammon strategy. I find your teaching understandable and completely interesting! I'm quickly developing a keen interest in this game as a result! I look forward to more videos when you find some time to produce them.

So glad I found this series! Thank you for all the videos. Well-explained, clear and pitched at a good level for those who are comfortable with the game but haven't yet developed much in the way of strategy. I think these are all worth watching several times over.

Hey man! Just wanned to be one of the thousands that has already thanked you! Me, as many here want you to continue making videos, why? Because this series is extremly good. Not that I didn't like the first 20 videos, but it is now it starts to get interesting!!! Please, you have around 10 000 viewings per video, make some more!

I've just finished watching your tutorials! I had learned a bit about backgammon some years ago, when I got my first (simple) backgammon board. I'd set it aside but something inside me made me want to come back with a vengeance now during these virulent times. I bough a semi-professional board (which is about to arrive) and decided to learn how to play better. I absolutely loved your tutorial series and would like to thank you, not only for making the videos but for keeping them here all these years. Like some other recent comments said, I have no idea if you will ever even read this, but if you do please know that your efforts are still quite useful and I'm pretty sure that there's a lot of other people who got into the game thanks to you even thought they might not have said anything. On the off chance that you might decide to make some more videos, rest assured that there are people interested! Maybe some more in-depth attack/defense strategies? Nevertheless, for now I'll settle for improving by reading the books you recommended. I have have managed to order a copy of Backgammon for Dummies and also the more recent "Backgammon: From basics to Badass" by Marc Brockman Olsen, which I HIGHLY recommend. Some of Robertie's books are now also available digitally on Amazon Kindle! Thank you once again! I'll miss your accent while learning new strategies.

Thank you so much! Even after all this time, it's lovely to hear people are still getting something out of these.

@@Ensor42 Wow, thank you so much for replying! It's great to know you are still around the channel! Any chance of making a couple more videos on strategies? I would love to watch your take on back games and visual patterns for pip counts! I'm having a great time reading the books I got, including my recent acquisition: Backgammon for Losers, by Simon Hill.

Like many other I just wanted to say thanks! I used to play years ago, and recently was slightly interested in re-picking the game up. After going through both your beginner and intermediate series, I'm definitely hooked, again. Hopefully looking forward to an advanced series possibly? :-) Thank you, again.

@justingrant Thanks for the kind comment. I found it very interesting what you say about re-learning the game from scratch. I would say this is excellent advice for any player - I too will read beginner level books on occasion - it never hurts to continually ground yourself in the fundamentals of the game.

@cuddlesat69 Thanks :) Really glad you're enjoying the game. Although I haven't any definite plans at the moment for continuing the series, as I've been quite ill recently, I am certainly not ruling it out, so hopefully there will be more, I'm afraid I just can't say exactly when.

Hey, when are you going to start making videos again? Or, are you even going to make any more at all? I'd appreciate it a bunch if you would; I've learned so much from you from these videos. Please consider starting these back up again, because I for one would certainly watch them! Thanks!

Hello, Sir! I've finished all your videos and I want to thank you for being so patient in explaining everything. As of the moment, I have no one to play with to practice what I've learned. You recommended softwares in one of your videos and they are very helpful as well. I was wondering if you could also suggest Backgammon apps so we can play using our mobile phones. Please!

Hi .What make of board would you recommend as a good quality board - not a professional board but a high quality home board . Are the Silverman and co premium boards or Wycliffe brothers board any good ? Your advice please 😀
