This video should be used in every trucking school for new drivers to see. What an amazing skill this driver shows on backing up a set of doubles! I had to watch it twice because it was so impressive. Thank you to the driver and to whoever filmed this and posted to KZfaq !

Quite amazing. What I find insane is those who can back up the triples. I swear those fellas ain't human.

Meanwhile the fastest I backed up a STAA double was 20 minutes in a simulator. Hats off to the driver, he developed a skill that few have the patience to learn.

With doubles, pullups are your friend. They are like GOALS. Great Job.

Very impressive. People will ask- “why do you pull forward so many times?” Try it once and you’ll see!

That was a good job! Set-up, patience, and practice are how you master backing up doubles. This driver has skills, and I like he wasn’t revving the engine, and riding the clutch backing up. If you are just backing the dolly up to the rear trailer to hook-up, his set up maneuver was good for that also. The dolly is opposite the lead trailer, you want it to go left turn the wheel left. In straight backing usually when you see the dolly in the mirror it’s to late, hence the slight curve in set-up. Don’t be a wannabe and put the forks through the rear trailer, get close and check. You can’t make chicken soup out of chicken sh*t, pull-ups are ok.

I used to back into the dock with doubles and even parallel parked between other trailers on the street. It takes patience and practice, not for everyone.

That was awesome! I'm still having a hard time just " cowboying" the lead with the dolly. I hope to get this good. Well done brother.

That was my job. Pulling two trailers for the route drivers to take out.

No I pulled them over the road. Took empty to get loaded for the route drivers to deliver meat the next day. When they got back I took off again. This is when I first started. After 12 years I got where I never pulled up anymore.

I started out there as a shuttle driver. The job was to pull doubles 500 miles round trip. That was the job title. Double shuttle driver. Alot of companies only hire one driver to save money on drivers, equipment, insurance.

Well D&%#n Going to have to amend my "can't" be done! KUDOS 2U! ! ! but you did make it clear why, , , all the corrections needed and made possible to creep up on it only by an extremely short wheel base tractor. All my personal experience was in a double sleeper 220" wheel base cabover Pete 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍/10

I hate pushing dollies so I learned quick to spot them off the lead

Harder in a day cab. I always oversteer when in a shorter tractor. Maybe I'm just used to a sleeper. Dude has skills
