See, that's why it's always good to have an open eye for someone else's tips and tricks. Great advice:" Let the frontsprings do the work for you"! Last August I traded in my " lightweight" 2005 Electra Glide Classic for a CVO Electra, which is about 80 kilo's " less light". I really had to get used to that extra amount of weight, so every trick someone has to reign a bike like that, is most welcome. Thank you sir, for sharing! Greetings from Holland 👍🇳🇱🇳🇱

Ive learned that the hard way. Believe me everyone will get it on their own. When you're in that situation, you have no choice but to yank on those handle bars. After each yank, you realize you have to use the front brake to prevent you from rolling back to where you where to begin with. Soon you will realize that the shocks are working with you so you will naturally use that leverage. I've done this to get turned around in sand. Was going down a narrow dirt road and the ground was getting looser and looser until I realized I had to turn around. It will take longer in sand, (and more sweat) but you will get to where you need to be in time.

Handy and helpful... many of us are not the most confident (or experienced) riders. Motorcycles, like tattoos, have become increasingly popular, maybe even a little trendy, and there's a lot of novice riders on sophisticated big bikes. I have had trouble pushing my own bike backwards, so this 'shox' technique is a very useful piece of advice.

Or you can do i what I did and install a reverse on your Harley road glide. It's not cheap but it's nice because this method he is showing you works awesome on paved parking lots, but some of the bike weeks I go to have gravel parking lot which makes it nearly impossible because your feet slip on the gravel. You would think all the money these bars make during bike week they would concrete or asphalt there parking lot but that only happens in the perfect world. Even in gravel with my Reverse I have to be super careful because I have to apply front brake to slow me down and if your front wheel is turned you can easily drop the bike if you apply front brake to fast or to much pressure. I'm 55 years old now and the reverse on my road glide was a good investment for me. I installed the baker reverse.

Great way to get outta fix that you put yourself into by pulling into your a parking spot that's sloping down Instead of just taking a few seconds more and backing your bike into the parking spot ! Only took me one time to learn my lesson about backing my 650 lb bike up and out of that hell hole🤬 and didnt know this cool 😎 trick 👏💪🤣

If you can't pull your bike backwards on a bland slope, you are probably to small for that kind of bike. I ride a Goldwing 1100 from 1983 myself without the reverse. It cost some strength but no problem at all because the bike fits my heigth. (Good tip though)

I just bought my first Harley Davidson and it's taking some getting used to, especially the extra weight. However, when I back it up, I feel like I'm going to tip it over. The same goes for taking it out of the garage and going for a ride. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Keep it in gear, the clutch is your friend. Don’t use your brakes. I have to back up my 50’ long driveway with a slight incline everyday. Not using my brakes but feathering the clutch has saved my bacon a couple of times when my foot slipped

But I'm stuck in the corner of my single car garage with a polished slippery floor by the entry door Can't go forward can't go back. It's like my first day after 16 years without a bike or a good back. I can probably get it out and drive it in my garage but then I have the problem of getting it back out of the garage next time I go ride. My driveway is not long but it is downhill so I don't know if I can lock the front brake and let it slowly work down to the road.. or ride the clutch in the first gear backing out but man I only get one chance of this but one second get a system down I'll be good .
