This just popped up in my feed. I enjoyed it very much. I first made that hike back about 1968 I think (I’m now 71). My “backpack buddy” and I spent a part of many summers hiking all over the Sierra’s till the late 1970’s (marriage, kids, jobs finally cut short our annual excursions). We actually made this trip 3 or 4 times. Wish I could do it again but the accumulated years of wear and tear (and very bad knees) make that impossible. Thanks for sharing as it was a nice “stroll” down memory lane.

A well-done video. I went with two other family members and, five friends (8PPL) in 05/91 to Glenn Aulin. I went in mid-May when the snow-water was beginning to flow at its highest level, the water caused vibrations going over Water Wheel falls. The vibrations from the one of the highest flow rate, was something to behold. Standing back about 150ft. from the falls one could feel the vibration in the granite rocks to the side of the falls. My best BP trip!

Nicely done! A helpful and inspiring video. Working on planning next year''s backpacking trip in Yosemite, and Glen Aulin/Waterwheel is at the top of my list. Thanks for letting the natural beauty of Yosemite speak for itself. Respect.

Great video as always! I love the down to earth informal feel of your work. No bull, just the facts. Have you considered making a travel video down the entire west coast? (Seattle to San Diego?) anyway, thanks for making these videos. I’ll use them for reference when it comes to future travels. (Covid go away!!)

How far in advance did you have to request for the campsite ?

You can request the permits up to 24 weeks in advance I believe. It is very popular in the summer www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wildpermits.htm
