@Mikie E They both had great achievements. H.O.T. won the international mv award(probably the first international music award won by korean) despite the language barrier and stuff, also performed with Michael Jackson when he was in Korea.

@Mikie E Well, if you're truly going with that, than ofc English speaking artists definitely would have an upper hand. Just saying what H.O.T. did was quite incredible despite not being able to speak English (or Spanish) and had mostly did their work in Korea. Not trying degrade BSB tho. They are amazing too.

People are so competitive with their groups. These groups don’t even make sense together, you can’t even compare. They did well in Asia because they’re asian and Asians will buy stuff with Asians on it. BSB had like one of the most iconic pop songs of all time and their albums are some of the highest selling albums ever. I thought the Korean group was like a comedy thing, they’re dressed like they’re trying to do s comedy version of a boy band.

this is from 5 years ago lmao, but I have to say this if someone reads it some day. But what are you talking about? 😂 I’m sorry, I don’t know what songs you’ve heard from H.O.T. Maybe only a few, and I understand that they may seem like a only-vocal group in this video, but most H.O.T songs weren’t just ballads without dance. H.O.T was more like a hip hop group at that time, of course later they tried rock and other genres, but they danced pretty well since the beginning. They have several ballads since they could harmonize well, as you can see here, but that’s because they chose a slow and harmonized song like the BSB’s one. About dance, H.O.T was the first idol group that made kpop known internationally because they followed in the footsteps of Seo Taiji & Boys, the ones who made "dance" an important point in a performance for the first time. Ok, the notorious main voice of HOT was Kangta, who has an incredible power and could be definitely compared with BSB. Then Heejun and Tony have these not-so-powerful but very sweet voices too, but despite this, the 5 members were all rappers. Jaewon and Woohyuk were only rappers and main dancers (Jaewon sang sometimes but he isn’t known mainly as a singer). They have hundreds of raps and famous choreographies. If we talk about a vocal group, I would say that Shinhwa is more like a vocal group, much more than H.O.T haha. And we can’t talk about dancing since dance is common element in both groups and is currently common in almost all Kpop groups out there. The only difference is the fact that the dance has been improving generation after generation. But at that time, for example, H.O.T’s Woohyuk was known as the best Kpop dancer, so ... I don’t think they can be compared. I just think that the only thing that can be said is that Seo Taiji & Boys took some popular elements from USA famous boybands, and from that they inspired the first idol groups like H.O.T and years later, Shinhwa, so we will always find similar elements with USA boy-groups but I don’t think they could be compared with any.. ^-^’

H.O.T high five of teenagers is a group that debuted under Smtown 1996 and had the biggest success hit in Korea they are big bros to Tvxq (a group bsb admire a lot since they met) and is an experimental group who talk like subjects like school violence child abuse even more stuff they helped a lot east Asia with their economic problems from the 90s. Yes they almost had no popularity in the us but every one knows them across Asia

BSB aren’t just the band of the moment, they’re the most iconic group to exist. K-pop songs are pumped out of factories, many of them written in the same places songs in the west are written places like LA and Iceland and so on where a lot of music production happens. BSB actually wrote some of their songs. It’s annoying to me how desperate other groups are to push themselves as the best thing when K-pop people are like surgery ridden, makeup drenched robots trained like slaves by giant corporations that control their lives. K-pop groups do not compare to real singing groups like the Hanson’s or BSB that don’t even really need the insane production and editing of K-pop. Hey grab a guy give him surgery baggy clothes a generic song and teach him to sing and give the group a name that makes no sense and boom there’s a K-pop group. Idiots with no taste or purpose in life will flock in. K-pop like everything in Asia is just a high quantity copy of something from the west, Korea pumps these bands out like China pumps out cheap toys. Or like how Japan pumps out pretentious minimalist furniture.
