I really needed to hear the part where you said skating can be whatever you want, it doesn’t have to be “hammers” it can just be skating around and pumping. I’m 38 and coming off a foot break and need to get back to just enjoying skating

Too much emphasis is placed on tricks within alternative sports in general. Like it shouldn't be a problem to enjoy riding a skateboard without knowing how to kickflip.

I’m old and have a very limited trick vocabulary… BUT, I love trying and go out to the skatepark as much as possible. Skating is FUN!

Heated seats are amazing! Thanks for letting us skate your mini last weekend. I am recovering a bit from the falls but my son and I had a great time. My son went on to play some amazing hockey that night

Great tips, and I totally second what you say about stretching. For those of us oldies who are new to blading (not coming back to it) I'd add that managing expectation and hope is massive.

HA!! Age.... Got that right. I live in Wisconsin, I am now 54... I got back into skating after a 20 year layoff. I used to do all kinds of crazy crap on quad skates back in the 70's, 80's and the 90's came inline... Roces, K2 and Rollerblades back in the early 90's-2001. I skated EVERYWHERE in all sorts of weather, terrain, ridiculously steep hills about 4-5 days per week for about 5 years straight. Skated, backward, forward, aggressive, distance, some tricks and i used to skate to work almost everyday on them including winter if it was not too icy and deep snow... ate up wheels and bearings too much when I did. Fast forward to 2022, I bought the Powerslide Next Core 80 and for good measure I bought ALL the padding I could possibly get... I NEVER considered wearing pads or helmet skating or biking back in the day... "it wasn't cool". :) Long story short... I had to buy a break because for some damn reason, I found myself afraid of doing any of my slides/power stops, skating backward, transitions, and not to mention, the slightest decline on the sidewalk had me all but blowing snot bubbles and cowering in fear... (not literally) lol. I am now looking at winter weather again here in Wisconsin and I have a newly built high school with a huge parking lot and newly paved sidewalks and roads leading in and out of the whole area, at least 2 miles surrounding it. Couldn't ask for a better ground to reintroduce my body back into it. Weather is more noticeable at this age and I definitely need to get back down to my fighting weight... I had too much pasta, pizza and other junk and it shows and I definitely feel it. My "Skating muscles" definitely are waking up. I plan on getting an Insta 360 x2 or x3 and record my journey. For a reward... I bought a set of Endless 90/110 mm frames. I get to look at those things everyday and will put them on my skates once I am used to everything again and am able to stop and slide like I used to. They are my motivation. As for my skates... I love them EXCEPT for one issue. They are hard for me to put on. I know I have to shrink down my stomach a bit to get the right angle to tie them without getting winded LOL!!! I just have an issue getting my foot into them without pulling and prodding.... ONCE I GET THEM IN... they fit like a glove. It is just a pain in the ass getting into them. My other skates, just slipped them on, tied or buckled them and that was it. I may have to do more breaking in or slight modification.... I will post up when I figure it out.

So many new products, right on the heels of Standard, too. Also, regarding the boot stripe -- I still think it would be cool if someone designed a 3D-printable piece that you could just slip on there prior to putting the soulplate on.

Great vid info as usual Law. Pads gear was always a thing for the ramp stuff back in the 90s and at 52 now, I'm definitely doing full armor. 😄. For a hockey guy I'm surprised you skipped over elbows. I'm wearing my hockey CCM Tacks which have saved me twice the past week... full force slam from top of the mini ramp and once catching a stone rolling backwards on the street. Their padded hardshell cups the elbow really great and disperses the impact and having the hockey slash guard, extends a little above and below for forearm. Definitely doing the stretchy crash pads under layer for hips and tailbone which have been great insurance as well under oversized shorts with a cinch belt. I just started jumping up on PVC grind rails again and don't want another swellbow. I also don't want cracked ribs like I finally did on Soap Shoes back in '99 so I've added a slim rib guard vest plus a rib guard sleeveless dryfit shirt both found new at Play it Again Sports. All the pads just helps worry less about doing and trying all the old stuff I had learned to do back then. Slams will happen so I'd rather avoid the slam injuries and make it to work the next day to skate my lunch hour and after work. 🤟

All the products you’ve been releasing are great , it’s Paul btw. I can make vinyl skins perfectly for the Omni and you can sell them every color and have 3m vinyl adhesive instead of using craft store tape . One last thing , I know I asked you about the old bags before . They are both great Law ! Both bags have pros and cons . I would have marketed the first bag as a Gear Bag , cuz great for camera equipment and spare frames . And then the new bag market as a streamline backpack. One is like the daily driver bag , and the other is perfect for gear and cameras , and travel , etc . Much love ! Paul - PD3 !

I def would say we have the market for both bags . If you fixed up a couple small things on the old one and sold it more as like a camera bag , and included the insert , that would be appealing to a lot of ppl .

I've had a lot of lower back issues in the last 5 years. I'm actually getting over throwing out my back right now. It's tough, because I'm not sure whether it's a muscle issue or a disk issue. This last one really wrecked me though, and it's made me think about going only big wheel blading and hanging up my aggressive skates for good.

Any idea how you hurt yourself? I’ve limited airs to flat, and changed the way I compress on airs overall. Hope you heal up soon

@BacktoBlading I largely do the same. I no longer jump over stairs, and I always make sure to have a down ramp. I learned this lesson after landing a 5-stair and having it thrown out at the Park City Woodward while I was on vacation. This time was puzzling, though, because all I did was jump up onto a flat box at a local park that was maybe 1.5ft tall and my back went out. I've been to the chiropractor twice since, with a third visit tomorrow, and I'm still not back to 100 percent. I'm usually good in 3-5 days, but this one is going on two weeks as of Sunday. Honestly, it's probably high time I just go to my primary care doctor. But I figure all they'll do is give me pain pills and tell me to stretch.

I did my back about 3 months ago while skating. I was at the skatepark and all I did was go down a small incline that I wasn't expecting without my knees bent. Boom instant shooting pain in the lower back 🙈. I was crawling around the house for the next week and it took a month to fully recover. The doctor just gave me pain meds so I went to a osteopath and had about 4 sessions. I'm back skating now but I've started stretching before every session.

I'm all about normal 72mm 4 flat wheels but with a big H- block groove of anti rocker so Oysi Classic on the white FR UFR AP boots has turned out to be surprisingly light... almost a pound lighter than the same setup on the newer tall boot liner Shadows.

@@BacktoBlading thank you. Ordered them. Tested and I have to say. There’re not for my. Unfortunately I hit my knee right in between the padding 🤦😂 And the fitting isnt made for my knees I think. So I’ll have to stick to your words. “What ever suits you” what ever makes you happy” 😅 Really appreciate your effort , your videos. And all Keep up the good work8
