It’s been a while since I had a topic like this. Matrix is an important parameter when it comes to optimizing a sequence. I hope with this video you’re able to have a better practical understanding of matrix.

Matrix. Is this something you have in mind whenever you optimize a sequence?

Definitely- would appreciate your thoughts on interpolation. I assume that’s why your video shows different resolution values for “acquisition” and “reconstruction”?

Hi Bac! Great video as usual! I just want to focus on the first comparison.. In my opinion the second scan is far away better due to the higher SNR (1,36). When you zoom in, it seems that the second scan has much less noise. So the question is, don't you think that is much better increase the FOV and the base resolution to minimize noise instead of having a tighter FOV and less base resolution? I mean, if the acquisition matrix is the same, might as well have an image with less noise, right? (obviously without considering the increasing of the time of acquisition)
@Nguyen_MRI
@Nguyen_MRI Жыл бұрын
Yes but it all depends on coils and radiologist preferences. Imaging dedicated organs from my experience they don’t want big fov even though the resolution is the same. Also for pediatric imaging. I made this video just for a better understanding of the relationship between matrix and fov. Of course all pro and cons but the theory and practice are there.

@Nguyen_MRI

@@iracvillar5576 for this knee I want dedicated fov of 150-160. But again I would have optimise other parameters as well. This was just a demo of the relationship between matrix and fov.
