Now your getting into the very heart of blues, that’s prime , Eric Clapton is the very best . His catalog is extensive, you could play a song a day and take long time to get to the end, come to summer fest in Milwaukee, and fill your heart with 5 stages to listen to non stop for a week, drink eat and listen to some of the greats, right on Lake Michigan, it’s epic every summer, not to miss,

OK, for the record, Eric Clapton is my favorite and most listened to guitarist. That being said, from my first hearing him around 1965 up thru 1973 or so he was on fire, unmatched, the top of his game. After that, for many a long stretches of time much of his playing was just mediocre or boring. But there were still snippets of greatness from time to time. One must understand that this was by choice as his interests and styles changed and evolved over the years. But it doesn't take more than a little dusting off and turning up the amp to get him to show WHY he is the best and that he has not lost any of his chops, intensity, blues power, emotive feeling and musical ability. This song is an excellent example of that. At a later date with Cream, at the RAH Reunion Concert his playing of Stormy Monday proves this out. It's still there, he's still more than capable. And when the need arises he is easily able to go back to his roots, his beginnings, his first love, and play the blues. And play them like very few are able to. Play them like his Bluesbreakers replacement Peter Green was once able to do, but much better. Many often consider Eric down and out of the game as a bluesman, a blues guitarist. But that's the hazard of underestimating greatness, it can so often come back to prove you wrong and bite you in the ass !!!! Great job EC. And I'm so very happy to see you India not just dig this style of music, but really get Clapton. He is a musical treasure that won't be around forever, but you have the opportunity to see and hear him now. And also dive into and listen too the astounding volume of material he has recorded over nearly 60 years. THIS was a good choice !

I remember hearing Derek Trucks talking about touring with this band around the world that year. He mentioned Clapton’s playing and how masterful he was about not playing too much. He would give you just enough that you crave for more and that takes a real master to do that. That coming from Derek is a real compliment.

If you're after more killer blues solo work from Clapton, try looking up his live performance of "Little Red Rooster" with the Rolling Stones. It's from the late 80's, there's questionable fashion choices everywhere, and most importantly, it's fuckin' fantastic.

Eric Clapton one of the greatest of the greats and the reason he was one of my top favorites. You should watch his concert by the title of Eric Clapton unplugged . now this is old school and in my opinion old school was better... they actually played for their audience and not to them like they do today. they were more touchable in our day just watch how Elvis Presley sit in the middle of his audience and Janis Joplin pulled the audience up on stage to dance... they were more humble in those days and appreciated their fans. this generation of musicians have nothing on us except for better equipment with more sound effects.

At one point in the 1960s, graffitti appeared in London declaring 'Eric Clapton is God' and this was not a statement about theology, rather his ability to put together total blues on the guitar. An ability he has never lost, but which constantly goes in and out of fashion.
