the patch notes for 18.1 noted, "Using just a bit less than 100% can create a more natural result." and I've definitely found that to be true. even when I do want bg audio completely removed dialing it back just a few points pretty helpful

I have found that this also helps improve narrative recorded in a room with poor acoustics and it really cleans up the reverb from the room. But it also really bogs down the playback during editing, so save it for the end of the edit.

Thanks for the great video! DaVinci just keeps getting better and better. I actually purchased a third party plugin noise reducer about 6 months ago, and while it does a fair job, now I think I wasted my money as the Resolve voice isolation is spot on. At least I got it on sale... 😎

Voice Isolation & Sound Leveling (plus my new Nvidia card) features were enough to make me upgrade from the free version! 🤣😹 In my home studio I'm unfortunately only 15' from the heat/AC closet and that 2-stage/HD fan really loves to start up just after I hit the Record button. Hmmm, $1,000 for extreme acoustical padding or $295 for DR Studio? Hey, thanks for this video, love your friends' contributions!

24% is what i use. the less you use the better it sounds. render that audio in place and then put dialogue leveler on that as well if you have two voices with diferent levels. never try them both at the same time, it just doesn't work, they have to be separately done.

So, this is absolutely incredible. I’m shocked at how well it works. I wonder if it can be trained to recognize my voice in a sea of other voices because I’d like to go to Orlando area theme parks and vlog.

@@dunnadidit I’m just assuming maybe over so much time it recognizes my voice. Maybe it isolates the strongest voice which would probably have some correlation to the mic pick up pattern. Either way It’s still really awesome.

You think getting a handle on codecs and NLEs and video modes on cameras is hard... and then you realise that was the easy bit, you gotta get a handle on audio still. Seems extra difficult for those of us with such visually orientated brains. Tip me hat to Black Magic for building features like this and reducing the barrier of entry to quality production.

In my language (Polish) we have a lot of rustling consonants. There are also a lot of "sssss" in your voice. Deesser is clearly not enough. Do you have any idea what to do about it?

I really do NOT like the voice isolation effect -- and I don't know why my experience has been so different than the examples I see online. It does do a pretty incredible job cleaning most of the audio for me, but I often get weird artifacts like shown in the music sample in the video or occasionally the main audio (dialogue) drops out entirely for a second. I could cut around or tweak problem spots, BUT... I've found the effect is inconsistent almost like a "live" mixer and varies from playback to playback (and render to render). In the end the inconsistency wasn't worth it and I use the Clarity VX plug-in instead. Thx for the video for comparison though.

Hmm, in Inspector-Audio I don´t have Voice isolation:/ And yea I have newest version of DV studio. But for example some new features like smart reframe etc I do have there. I find out guides, that same you have to Unlink clips to make voice isolation appear, but it doesnt work either:/ And you don´t do anything and have it there. Damn, for months I have no idea there is feature like this and I would need it a lot.

When it first launched, they accidentally included it in the free version, but then they released another update of the free version the following day which removed it, so it may be that MPICreates hasn't updated since then?
