You can see the joy on his face, you can hear the joy in his voice, you can feel the joy in the songwriting. It's all there. The joy of living and the joy of music.

CRAZY how well he replicated his recorded sound.
@littlejimmyyouman720111 ай бұрын
How is it CRAZY? This is exactly how he recorded it for the album, except without the live audience...

My mom had a Jim Croce 8-track tape and listened to it, religiously. My early exposure to singer-songwriters took root in my soul and never left. Jim will always be a favorite. Thank you, Mom.❤

I've loved this song since I was a boy!!
@tracyyork14289 ай бұрын
Me too. I was nine years old when it came out. I loved the reference to King Kong because it was one of my favorite movies back then. Plus, when I sang it in front of my parents, I could say "damn", and justify it by saying "but those are the lyrics!!!"😂

Gone 50 years ago today. Such a skilled performer was Jim. Down to earth, funny, relatable. Better days awaited him. A tired pilot who flew into a headwind stopped it.

Great! But the title is wrong. The song name is "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown," not "Big Bad-"

Bad Bad Leroy Brown. Baddest man in the whole damn town! Badder than old King Kong! Meaner than a juckyard dog!
@theluth90468 ай бұрын
I remember when I was about 15 years old growing up in Pimlico, Nd. There was a man that I knew Uptown and he looked like he could have been Leroy Brown. He was a big tall man and they called him, Tiny Little. I says to him one day, Tiny, I wish I was as big as you. He said no you don't boy, every time I go in a bar the first thing happens is a drunk comes up to me and wants to try me on. Now I never been beat but I sure did bust up a lot of glasses and tables and chairs but you know, it's still ain't no fun, and all I wanted was a cold beer!

I read a comment somewhere where someone said this song was just a novelty song, saying it shouldn't be taken seriously like his other songs like Operator or Time In A Bottle. Firstly, there is nothing wrong with novelty songs. Secondly, this song is not a novelty song at all.
