Taylor's longevity is insane considering the amount of shit she was getting back then and it's just fun to see how most people appreciate and respect her music now. Katy seems like she's done with mainstream music scene and now just makes bops casually here and then overall they both seem happy and that's what matters the most

honestly, be happy for her! i think katy’s “downfall” was intentional. she’s talked openly about how she never had a childhood and becoming katy perry stunted her growth. there was a point where she was having a mental breakdown and felt like the world didn’t know who she was and put her underneath a microscope. i honestly don’t think she wanted the fame anymore and her priorities shifted to her new family. she just had a residency and it got great reviews so she’s doing well! she definitely doesn’t want to be a mainstream popstar anymore; i think the pressure was getting to be too much on her.

@angechrisman1694

Taylor doesn't have the most iconic comeback in popular music History with Reputation. It's not even close to Tina Turner 1984 comeback with What's Love Got to do with It and her blockbuster album that followed Private Dancer at the age of 44, 8 years after her divorce with Ike and after she went broke. Cher's If I Could Turn back Time in 1987 at 42 and Belive in 1998 at 53 and went number 1 on the hot 100 (oldest woman to reach number 1 on the hot 100), became the best selling song of 1999 in front of songs like Britney Spears' Baby One More Time or TLC's No Scrubs in the US and globally. Madonna in 1998 at 40 with her magnum opus "Ray Of Light" with Frozen and the title track which became some of her best selling songs of her career. She was defying ageism and sexism in the industry at the peak of the teen pop explosion lead by the Britneys and Christinas. It was after she gave birth to Lourdes in 1997 which heavily influenced the conception of the album. And she still managed to sell over 16 million copies ww. But also, in 2005 at 47 with Confessions on a dancefloor with Hung Up which entered the Guinness World record when it went number 1 in 40 countries becoming the song by a female artist to go number 1 on the most country official charts, surpassing Kylie Minogue 2001 iconic signature hit "Can't Get You Out of My head" which went number 1 in 35 countries. It was post her 2003 VERY polarizing "American Life" album era in the middle of the Iraq War under the Bush administration that got the Chicks cancelled and almost her and Susan Sarandon cancelled for their anti war views. But she rose above it two years later at 47, 23 years into her career with her dance/disco oriented 10th studio album, an Abba "Gimme gimme" sample lead single and production from British producer Stuart Price (Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia) and went on to sell 12 million copies of Confessions ww. We can't forget Mariah Carey 2005 "The Emancipation of Mimi" album, which is another great ICONIC comeback in music History. It was after 2001-2004 "flop era" following the disaster that was the 2001 "Glitter" movie which came out on 9/11 on top of it and her mental breadown (she got diagnosed with bipolar disorder at that time and was overworked). The media was saying that she was over. Tommy Mottola was sabotaging her and using J-Lo as his tool behind the scenes, stealing her sample ideas.... But she came back with It's Like That and then We belong together went number 1 for 14 non consecutive weeks (the longest running number 1 song of the 2000s, song of the year and song of 2000s on the hot 100). It blocked her single Shake It off from the number 1 spot for 3 weeks. Don't Forget about Us aka WBT 2.0 (from the deluxe version) went number 1 in 2006 on the hot 100. She went 7× Platinum in the US, sold over 10 million record ww, swept the billboard music awards, Soul Train awards and won 3 grammys in 2005. Kanye West with 2010 magnum opus "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" after he retired in Japan and Hawaii following the Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 Vmas is one of the most iconic comeback of the past decade

Katy’s music didn’t “die”. She’s just taking it easy and taking on projects that are less demanding to focus on herself and family. Didn’t she just have a kid on top of that? Let's be real here, Katy failed to create a loyal fanbase, unlike her pop contenders. Katycats (not all) basically abandoned her when she started distancing herself from the bubble gum pop persona she thrived off. They threw her under the bus when she started to make her music more political. Unlike Taylor who had a successful conclusion when she did the same thing. I’m a huge Taylor fan but I think it’s interesting she went after Katy so hard for just a few backup dancers, as much as she denies it was about a guy, there was the whole John Mayer thing that they both had in common & I kinda think Taylor might have felt hurt that Katy dated him after he treated Taylor so poorly. I also think a lot of what Taylor did during the 1989 era was mostly for publicity & it lead to her being overexposed in 2016, before she took her break. Everything during the 1989 era just seemed so calculated, which obviously helped cement her place among the pop girls of that time.

Unpopular opinion, but is crazy to know that Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Adele, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna all ruled the Global Pop Scene all at the same time 😲😲😲 Rihanna is the #1 selling artist of the 21st century and has the most #1 hits and I don't know how Rihanna did it with that level of competition. Although Katy and Lady Gaga fell off, it's impressive to see Beyonce, Adele, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Rihanna still dominate especially Beyonce. Beyonce has been at the top of the charts since 1997 (an era where Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, TLC and Madonna ruled the charts). Beyonce was the #1 female artist of the 2000s decade, was the most certified artist and still topping the charts 25 years later. And Taylor Swift still ruling and breaking records like it's nothing 😲😲😲😲😲😲

It's not even close..... Taylor has advanced so far beyond Katy in every way and she's still relevant!!! She has shattered so many records and she did it without compromising her art or her kind heart. She hasn't just reinvented herself and her music, she's reinvented the way the music business operates! She's remained humble and honest through it all. She's fought for human rights and spoken out against those who try to take advantage of new artists. She has taken the hateful and unfair stereotypes placed on her and turned them into Award winning masterpieces and by doing so she has inspired her fans to love themselves... She's given a platform to people who need to be heard. She props up talented, underrated and young female artists by taking them on tour with her.... She didn't just have a few hits in the 2010s... She has put out album after album after album. With each new album she shows us versatility and her Neverending ability to be a brilliant storyteller.. Katy hasn't been relevant since 2015... Its an insult to even insinuate that she's on Taylor's level.

Bad Blood is a bit better than Swish Swish, both are one of my favs from their albums, so i love them both sm. Despite Katy being my #1 all time fav, i loove Bad Blood. I can relate to these kind of lyrics way better than any other cuz it's about friendship and betrayal, and there are so many people i think about when i sing and listen this song, which makes it better, which is same for Swish Swish ofc, but Bad Blood's lyrics are a bit better, especially the bridge line. Bad Blood is one of best MVs as well, don't need to say more. Swish Swish's MV is on the other hand a very fun, interesting and unique MV honestly... i don't see anyone making it the way it is as Katy does and i feel it is a very underrated and overhated MV. Nicki's verse is my all time fav as well and i'm glad Katy gave her almost a minute long verse. Swish Swish's live performances are great btw, especially on VMAs. song and popularity-wise, Taylor won On the feud part, Katy gave a better response and i think she did what should've been done, as well as that i don't think she acually sabotaged shit. It was clearly a miscomunication, but on this part gotta give it Katy Taylor recently realised her 3rd best album, Midnights and some of Katy's more recent songs are some of her best, like Cry About it Later, Teary Eyes, Tucked, Electric and When I'm Gone, so in that part, both won Overall, they both know now, they both have crowns, some need to calm down
