Live At CBGB 1982 DVD
No one dared to show for that shower
When nobody turned to be clean
Was not even touched by the water
Just another Nazi scheme
The Big Takeover
All throughout this so called nation
Prepare yourself for the final quest
Your world is doomed with your own integration
Just another Nazi test
The Big Takeover
So understand me when I say
There's no hope for the USA
Your world is doomed with our own integration
Just another Nazi test

Now that it is all said and done. Bad Brains are the single greatest punk band of all time. Even greater than the Ramones and the Pistols. I have hard time saying any “punk” band is greater than the mighty Ramones but Bad Brains came up from the back and ultimately they took the Crown. They are too ferocious. Too original. Too pure. People complained if you tried to actually be creative in your movements. The raw get into the feel of the music is better. Love this. Depended on the club/venue in regards to what was allowed. These guys are such amazing players. They became so much more than a punk or hardcore band. Many sophisticated and well played moments on I against I and The Quickness. I think HR as a melodic singer was quite underrated. Great sense of melody and tone when he wasn’t doing a more traditional hardcore voice. Dr. Know was so ahead of his time. Not sure there would be a Vernon Reid without the Doc.

most Brazilians are BLACK and Bad Brains are black Americans. So yes, arguably the best hardcore band ever are black. This is pretty typical-especially when whites then try to strip them of their blackness since they can't deny they're greatness.

This is not a joke: I was sitting with my ex-girlfriend and showing her this. I mentioned how iconic 0:29 is with HR skanking with the mic - I'll never forget this, she said "What's so Iconic about that??" That's when I knew it couldn't work We are not together anymore.

yea....me too.....Sitting on the edge of the stage. Jumping off the stage. Shows were fun. few if any fights, and great music. It was a scene unparalleled at the time, and unsurpassed to this day. The only thing that comes close at this point is the rap scene.

Dang totally INSANE!!! I mean I look at this and see HR as a real Punk frontman full of energy, power and passion and now if you see him he is all weak and depressive looking stage presence that if he was to sing verses to any these old songs he would get a hard attack its just sad how a great band like this went south. This without a doubt is one of the most intense eras of Hardcore!!!

Pseudo Smith on the contrary there are a lot of bands and frontmen like HR such as Wattie of The Exploited, Tony Martin of The Varukers, Anthony of Battalion Of Saints, John Joseph of Cro Mags, Kurt Brecht from DRI, Bill Milano of MOD and many more I can go on forever with the list of bands and frontmen as old as this still with a good amount of the energy they had in their prime yrs still making strong records I will admit maybe not as awesome as prime yrs so I scoff back at your ignorant statement no such thing as "getting old" I will still be a music fond person and musician in my 50s its all about devotion and passion to the music not some BS phase. So piss off. Respect my opinion and I'll respect yours.

@Corpse - HR cant help suffering from mental illness! Don't expect him to keep performing like he did just to keep people like you happy. You're ignorant to mental illness and the fact that not all people age in the same way!

@corpsedesecrator2612 7 жыл бұрын
Ok then you got me there I thought it had something to do with Rastafarian way of life he went on to later I wasn't aware that he had an illness and some people are unlucky then and I am aware people age different I just didn't known that was the case with him but does this argument really matter anyways now? I still like this vid and early Bad Brains so who cares no need to be a PC police.

I saw the Bad Brains live at City Gardens in the mid-80's. I saw a lot of Punk/Hardcore Bands in the 80's.Without doubt these guys were Killer live. I had my elbows on the stage while they played. Did some ",diving". The Pit was, "Brutal". If you went down a person always helped you out. The assholes in the pit started in the late 80's.

+Morganna Lefay, I used to see Claudette at shows. Remember The Ontario, D.C. Space. The Bayou? Although, those are D.C. clubs. But we used to make the trip up to NYC to see shows frequently. This is a CBGBs I think. Leon? Very tall, thin black dude? Knew him also! Again, also here in D.C. Don't recall Bubby though. Too bad I can't find any retrospective photos. They must exist somewhere.

I saw the BB's in 82 at CBGB's.Don't know if this was the show.A friend at the time was a huge Hard Core fan and turned me on to the scene. We called him Polish Paul he was a true Punk. Lived it every day. He fought his way to the front at CB's and came back bloodied .Never saw him happier. Wonder what happened to that guy.
