Hey Jolene, have Chad film you doing a burnout in the Corvette.

Thanks for starting your channel. It gives another side of the activities at the shop. I agree that trying to fire the Hudson flathead is worth the time. However, I watched the episode of unsuccessfully getting it to fire even if it turned. Having seen a lot of videos of flathead resurrections, pulling the head will let you know if there is any hope of unsticking the valves AND having it run. I agree that if you're going to run it a lot and want it reliable and repairable a 305 or 350 would work. Rebuilding that boat anchor of an engine and transmission would cost more than your Corvette!

That Hudson has beautiful lines and the 4” chop looks great. I have a rescued Australian cattle dog that came from Georgia and she came with her name Jolene and I couldn’t change it. She follows me around everywhere. 🏁🍖🍻

Jolene, maybe put a throw cover over the vet sest while it hangs out in the garage, take it off when you go away, but even you getting in and out moving it around you will be safer. Just an idea.

This is great Jolene love your Vet and your new show . I think being in the auto business for over 40 years if the motor could be fixed without spending big money better off doing it.. Car only original once one you take the 6 out and put a V8 in it only leads into transmission then rear end and so on

When I was very young, in Brissy, there were quite a few Hudsons around still, Mostly ex cabs, Since Hudsons had the only Boot big enough to take the Radios thaat came out of Surplus Mustang fighters aafter the war. My Dad's mate told me the only proble with he Hudsons was the leaky Shaft seal from the diff

Original is good.. but reliability is better

That engine can be made reliable and the good thing is it’s simple. No electronic anything to worry about just points, condenser and coil for fire and simple carburetor for fuel. I have a 1930 Ford Model A Cabriolet with the original 4 banger and you can drive it anywhere. It does have a Mitchell overdrive so you can run at 65 all day.

Jolene, You look great in your car. (and out) I'm sure Nate could rebuild the Hudson motor if the rings and bearings are some kinda standard size. They can find out a lot before giving up on it by pulling the head, and pan, not a big deal.

Jolene you are right about getting in the car dirty. Leather drys out from pants rubbing on the leather. It's suggested to never wear jeans on leather seats, it can dye the leather blue and it zaps all the moisture out of the leather. keeps a spray bottle of leather conditioner / cleaner handy and keep those seats moisturized. It can be sprayed after every time you sit in it.

That original engine would have a lot of torque. If it runs I bet it will start out in second gear, maybe higher. The Hudson was a great chop! It's always worth going back and watch the back of the roof come together.
