You’re doing a great job! That’s what is so special to so many of us 70s & 80s is it seems to have been the time where there was a convergence of everything! There was still disco around, and punk, and funk, and rock, and r & b, etc , but then these genres also mixed to bring out new sounds & entirely new genres! It was an exciting time! No music was “wrong”-they were trying it all! It wasn’t a “race” thing & it wasn’t a sex thing. It was just fun & you could love it all & different music made you feel a different way. It was the soundtrack of our lives, tbh & hopefully not too cheesy! It was just everything!

Sister Golden Hair is one of my all time FAVORITE songs! Considering that I have an amazingly eclectic music "library" in my head, that's saying something! There's just something so sweet and soothing about the way they sing that song. Even though he is coveting something he can't have.

My car used to shake to the max whenever this song came on the radio - turning the volume way up! It was also a great song to dance to. Nice slow dancing with your girl...then hitting it HARD through the heavy metal. 👍

Singer Paul Rodgers was one of Freddie's faves...He was also in a band caleed Free (great band too) and he played alongside Led Zep's Jimmy Page in The Firm (check out Radioactive) and Brian May and Roger Taylor in a project called Queen + Paul Rodgers (they even covered Del Shanon's Runaway!)

Released 1975. Paul Rodgers started to come up with the lyrics at a camp in California while touring the US with Free. He was 19 years old. After several years, Rodgers played it to Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs who threw in that big chord in the chorus - the muted 'duh-duh' that marks the shift from country ballad to chest-beating rocker.
