Most the songs you mention liking were from his album Divide, which was very different to his first albums, I prefer old Ed, listen to The A Team, You Need Me, I Don't Need You from Plus album or Bloodstream, Sing from Multiply, really good videos to all of them, helps explaining the songs :)

Ed recently said the second he laid eyes on his daughter, he knew he wanted to get healthier in every way he could to be the best father & husband he could be. He started working out regularly, stopped drinking & going out much & works more regular hours instead of going for 12 or more hours in studio. You're right that he's talking about his bad habits leading to his wife & daughter, & like the sun, burning away all the bad parts of himself til he's left with his true self in the light of the sun. It's such a fun catchy way of presenting pretty deep lyrics, especially considering this song was a last minute add to the album!

@@jaysnelling696 especially in his first album and with interviews he’s said multiple times he used to struggle with drinking and he would write music to stop him drinking, I’m so so glad he’s in such a better place now!

I just watched an interview where Ed said between going to a friend's funeral and having a baby he had to grow up. So naturally he dresses up as a vampire and makes a dance tune! Love him! Remember he also came out with Supermarket Flowers and Visiting Hours, both beautiful. Ed will be making beautiful music for a long time. Being married and a father he'll have more life experiences to pull from. I'm excited to be here for it!

Best dance music video since Thriller. Please do more Ed Sheeran! Love your idea that the people dancing around him represent the bad habits. The way I hear the lyric, all those led him to where he is now -- totally different and mature. I'm sure he'll still write ballads and sweeter things.

I loooove the new tune but he said in a few interviews that not all the songs in thr new album will be like this, we'll have some ballads as we are use to. Also his wife decided that this have to be the single so i think the bad habits leads to cherry who helps him to be healthy and cut off all bad stuff. I recommed to you "you need me I don't need you", "drunk", "bloodstream", "don't", "eraser", "save myself", "dive", "hearts don't break around here", "i'm a mess", "remeber the name" (with eminem), "nothing on you", "best part of me","tenerife sea", "afire love" all are amazing and not as known as Perfect, thinking out loud, give me love,etc. And in my opinion acustic or live are better than studio.

its not about a person. he said the idea was that bad habits lead to more bad habits. also we're definetly getting more "ed" stuff from him. he said this is the most different song on the album. its like shape of you on his last album. just wanting to do something different.

i'm soooo excited for Ed's album, he said in an interview for Zach Sang that he released this song as a first single because it's not Ed Sheeran-like and people were probably more expecting a ballad than an 'electro'-ish song from him and he wanted to surprise people like he did with Sing or Shape of You. This song is a bop all i want to do is go clubbing and dance all night to this song.

I thing it represents his growth as a man. Hes married a father and he had to let go of his bad habits.I think his music is even better he's a great artist all around.

Loved this reaction so much! Your face at that first beat drop! This song has been stuck in my head since it came out so I knew you were about to get hyped when the beat kicked in. I love it so much and your reaction made it even better. You’d be an awesome DJ! 🎧 As for recommendations, his albums are seriously so good. I don’t think he has a bad song or one that I skip when listening to him. I still listen to his old stuff too so…I just don’t think you can go wrong with Ed, man! He’s so great live too! In all Ed's UK interviews(and their has been loads) he said when ever he releases a new album, he likes to open with a song that is unexpected of him (Shape of you) he has never done a dance song, so he achieved his goal, I don't think the whole album will be dance, but you never know with Ed :)

I've just found your channel, and damn you seem to catch things so quickly..! I think I have no choice but to subscribe. Great reactions. I did not catch the people in his posse representing each bad habit, but since you said it it is so obvious..! I loved the beat too. Made me want to go to clubbing. It's been a while. Too long. I guess the ketchup part could be considered one of his bad habits because he is known for bringing a bottle of ketchup wherever he goes to eat even to 5 star restaurants.

New subscriber here. Can I say Luke Bryan is trying to look like you? Also, Ed is always up for anything new. He wanted to try a pop song and did well with it. This was released after he became a father and I think his daughter, Lyra and wife, Cherrie were his so called victims of his bad habits. Enjoyed your reaction. I do actually love this song, the beat is addictive for sure. It sounds like a kind of mash-up between Billie Eilish's 'Bad Guy' and 'eighties band Bronski Beat's 'Smalltown Boy.' I wonder if he was influenced by either or both of them.
