Glendy isn't doing well. We had Queen👑Uniek treat her legs. Time for Yfke
to wean off. Hi Sanne and Reina. Mathilde in front of the carriage.
Queen Uniek has now passed away. But I would like to post what we experienced with her. I hope you understand this.

I don't believe you have bad luck with horses. Personally , I envy you getting to work with horses, and simply be in their company. Look at the life you and they have shared together. Your life, and the lives of the horses have been made richer for being in one another's lives. Sadly, these beautiful animals don't share our lifespans, but, leave us before we are ready to let them go. They age before our eyes. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Queen Uniek. She was like no other. Thank-you for allowing me to share your experiences with these magnificent giants.

Yvonne certainly has had bad luck with her own horses. Uniek had two miscarriages when she was owned by Yvonne. Uniek is no longer there. Yvonne had so many plans with Rising Star but these dreams were shattered because of his wobbler. Now Glendy is lame. It just doesn’t seem to stop.

I understand why Yvonne feels she has bad luck with horses. Some people are considered lucky too. Sometimes we have no control of things and wonder why again and again? Or why me??? Life can really hurt. We may never know why things happen, but they do. And what Yvonne does, is to keep going. The human spirit is strong. Every day Yvonne gets up shows us all about determination and never gives up. WAY TO GO. You are an amazing woman, Yvonne.

Yes we all do love Uniek, l've been thinking about her alot and I just cry and cry!😢 She was so majestic and beautiful!❤ It really hits me hard because on March 7th I had to send my 33 year old black and white paint (Flash), that I since he was a baby, to heaven💔 and when I seen the video about Uniek and the very serious bout with colic she had and that she wasn't going to make it well I just sobbed and sobbed💔😢😢😢 My heart hurts for so much for Yvonne as I know how she hurting💔 Yvonne is loved very much by us all and she and her family are in our prayers🛐🛐🛐

Lisa, when all the mares were listed that were sold to Canada, I thought who can Rein get to pull that carriage to ride in. Then we see he brought Mathilde back and she was pulling him in the carriage. Well, he can't get the horses back from Canada. So I guess Mathilde was local enough for him to get her back. It just surprises me that he can buy back horses he previously sold.

I think it's great that Rein Sr. was able to buy Saly and Matilda back!! The people I've seen working with Friesian Horse's have shown a love and dedication to and for taking the best care of these Magnificent Friesian Horses and towards each other!! I am not surprised that Rein was able to buy them back, just very happy for Rein, Yvonne, the ladies who've cared for and have ridden and worked the horses at Stal G and Stal H.

I was visiting my first grandchild in Houston, Texas when I saw the shocking and sad news about Queen Uniek. She was loved by many many people and will always be remembered. I’m so sorry for you, Yvonne and your family. I know how devastated you must feel. I will continue to keep you in my prayers, but I only have one request. Please don’t say you have bad luck with horses anymore. Your words are powerful. Use words of faith and say , I am blessed with healthy strong horses. God loves you. I’m so glad he protected you in the fall and returned you to us all!

I love your response. I was thinking the same thing. The ratio of good healthy horses outweighs the injured ones. When anyone has an animal, of any kind, there are always vet visits. Expensive. I too was visiting my grands. It was such a shock and heartbreak. I’m glad I was with family. I live alone otherwise. It’s good therapy to revisit pictures and videos of ones we lost. I always place lots of photos of my passed away pets. Then we talk everyday, until it eases my loss. God bless you for your prayers.

Please leave Yvonne to grieve in her own way, and express herself as she likes. It’s unsupportive to tell her what words to use. Denying sadness and grief is more harmful than being honest and forthright about it. Being fans doesn’t give us license to dictate to her how to think and what to say. She’s not a child.

This was BEFORE UNIEK’S death. I know everyone is upset and sad about Uniek, but you took her response out of context. Take care

Poor Glendy. Can’t imagine how pricey the vet trip was but at least now your know her exact problem. I pray she can recover and not be in pain. You take wonderful care of your herd ❤ Thank you for continuing to share videos of Queen Uniek. It doesn’t stop me missing her but it is still comforting to see her. So happy to see Lianne too! She captured my heart when she was a foal. Much like Yfke!

Unfortunately, a dysplastic joint will get arthritic over time, so, best they can do is manage pain and as a last resort: surgery. It's incurable, so in this case "bad luck" applies, sadly. I have a dysplastic joint, too, and feel for poor Glendy.

What a special barn cat Jelle is! 🐱◼️ A black cat with the black horses. So sweet as he's lying in the straw in front of the boxes so close that the horses can reach him. They're so careful when touching him. Horses and cat seem to enjoy this. I'd bet, Jelle is purring when he feels their warm breath! ❤

I’m curious what Rein’s plans for Mathilde are, since she was unable to become a ster mare this year. Will he try sending her to inspection again, or just keep her as a riding/driving horse for himself? Either way, she’s a beautiful horse and it’s good to have her back. Poor Glendy. Being a pony is tough. I hope through treatment and time she can get better. Congrats, Yfke! You are officially an independent little lady! Seeing Lianne and knowing she’s not around for long makes me a little sad. She’s one of my favorite horses and exactly the sort of horse I’d like if I could own one. Sweet and affectionate and always here for cuddles. Uniek is so beautiful. She always did her best to never show her age or her pain. She wanted to please so much.

Matilde is such a wonderful worker and friend! I’m glad you are able to have her herd stay with you at Stahl H ❤ Shiney is so precious. Yfke is starting to grow into her long legs. When I see Sanne, Reina and Matilde, I can’t believe how they’ve grown. Same with Lianne, I still think of them as being Yfke’s age. I’m glad you are sharing Uniek in your videos. Am always cheered by the sound of birds in your Stal . .... When the Friesian mares first arrived, there were no birds....now their chirping fills every video.....cannot remember when this changed.....

Yes, the barn was empty for quite a while when Yvonne was still spending most of her time at Stal G and then the accident. Then she brought the horses over which probably attracted the birds to come--feed, hay and straw in the barn, and warmth during winter.

I do hope that Glendy get's better. She is such a sweet pony. It is bitter sweet to see Uniek. I can't believe how BIG Yfke is but then remember that Yvonne fed her extra milk! She is going to be a beautiful horse!

Is Glendy an actual pony, or does she have the dwarfism which seems common to Friesans, and hence the improperly constructed shoulder joint, do you know?

I have hip dysplasia, it's so painful!! It has cause osteoarthritis in my joint now so will need a replacement soon. I hope they can find a way to help the pony. I had the steriod hip injection and it didn't work for me. I feel her pain. It's horrible. Xx

Lianne is so pretty and innocent looking; almost looks to young to be a mem. I remember her prancing and little hop in the arena with the other young horses. Yvonne, your heart is in the right place. These ponies and horses find their way to you because of the care and love you can give them. It is not bad luck; just look at it from a different view. 🤗💞

I think the surgery to place metal plates is a great solution for Glendy. She is a sweet pony who always did her best with anything she was asked to do and deserves a chance to live imo, whether with you or at a place she can be a beautiful, mellow, appropriately taken care of, pony. I would be happy to contribute to her surgery. 🖤

It's comforting that Uniek was familiar with going to and from the clinic before she went there for the last time, otherwise she would have been so afraid and stressed going to a new place. She would expect to be going home, as with the other times she was there. And she would know the smells and voices of the people treating her and I'm sure they treated her as the special horse she was.🖤🖤🖤 Several of your horses need special care - I think they are very lucky to have been born and found their home with you, a wise and compassionate and intelligent person who will do what is best for them.💚 I think Glendy will do better if she loses a little weight, but I had a pony when I was young and that was almost impossible to accomplish! No more babies for Glendy. I hope managing the inflammation can help.

Yvonne, it is good that you show what life with horses is really like - both the good & the bad as well as the unexpected. So many people that love horses but have never cared for them don’t fully understand all the high & lows much less the financial expenses that come with having horses. Too many times I have personally seen an inexperienced owner with their first horse be completely unprepared for the responsibility. Some adjust & cope but many do not. You are helping to educate people all over the world about horses & what all it takes to own them. That’s a wonderful thing. Thank you.

Bad luck happens when we have animals. I experienced similar heartbreak with horses and dogs. We have to remind ourselves that we also have healthy animals. Yvonne, you have many healthy horses and ponies. I hope they can bring you some relief from your grief. I even find it tough to see Unielk's videos. She was the one who started my interest in following your Friesian horses channel.

In the trailer, Uniek looked uncomfortable with Glendy there and Glendy didn't care that she was so close to the Queen. I realize this must be hard to continue editing videos with Uniek still in them, thank you for continuing this journey and sharing it with all of us. It is so hard to know that they are gifted to us for such a short time. They fill our lives with so much that when they go, it leaves such an indelible mark on us, to touch souls with such a pure soul is a gift. Uniek was your soul animal, that is not an easy hole to fill. I pray you take comfort that she loved you as much as you loved her and that the time spent together was the best for you both in the moment in time you need each other., many prayers and love to you and yours.

The price of loving horses is that too often they leave us before we're ready. I haven't had horses in a while but it took me a long time to get over the death of my Anglo Arabian mare. My grandfather still has her son, a wonderful, loving gelding so at least I see some of her in him.

This is tough to watch seeing our beloved Queen the month before still so alive and vibrant and sweet Glendy struggling with her sore muscles which is also something I unfortunately understand. Yvonne I know that you are committed to doing what is right for Glendy and no matter what it entails you’ll have my support,this is the part of loving the animals in our lives that is hard sometimes things happen that we have no control over and it’s not easy seeing them hurting.🖤🥺🐎

First video seeing Uniek and not crying. I really like still seeing her, how she loves you and looking over her herd (even though Coralla is the “boss”😅). I never thought a horse thousands of miles away would impact me so much❤️… Now I’m crying again, maybe next video I’ll be stronger

Dysplasia is very common in larger dogs I had a Labrador Retriever who had it in her back hips. Pain relievers helped her for years. Good luck with dear Glendy. I just think it must be so painful.

Glendy. You quite often get rotator cuff insufficiencies in humans, but I had no idea you could get something like that in horses/ponies. Poor little thing! And you were trying so hard with Uniek. Her presence is still so strong here. You did everything you could. Still want to see her, while the videos last, even though deeply sad. I see Shiney now has her very own box, with her name on it! Yvonne, it's nice to see Uniek it's a good way to remember her and say goodbye slowly. Poor Glendy, I know surgery can be done for this, and it is very successful. Treatment and physical therapy does work, but that usually has to be ongoing. Hope Treatment helps her. She's already in my prayers. Yfke grew into those long legs of hers. She is looking beautiful. Yvonne, remember, think good thoughts and only good thoughts. Kind of you to show the remaining videos of Uniek, who is loved and missed. I don't know about dysplasia in ponies but I know that it can run in dogs, usually hips. I hope Glendy can be kept comfortable. Yfke is a big girl now, she has a lot of confidence, all down to you and her mem of course!
