A long time ago, when this video was uploaded I felt sad and struck with grief for the loss of a life, and for what that life meant for Tom, I still am today, but now I can understand it a lot more, I was shortly after this video, diagnosed with cancer, I am one of the fortunate ones to... Still be fighting... I'm clean atm, and hope to be like that for the rest of my life, but still the battle is brutal and you can never go back to what you were before, a lot of people don't have the luck that I was blessed for having, and I live every day enjoying life to the max, even if I'm not doing anything, to just be able to feel is great, to breathe, to laugh, to cry, every single feeling is unique and beautiful in is own way, so I say we should all live like that, enjoying every single second we are here, so that we never regret not living. Tom is fucking right, life is too short. Make the most of it!! I hope everyone going thorough any kind of battle wins, if you don't think anyone cares, we do, you just gotta say anything, and most people will answer. 2 words... Fuck CANCER. Earlier this year, my grandma was in hospital getting treated for 3 months straight with lung cancer then it spread to her brain and she died. I know how it feels. RIP!

I'm 13 and I've got a Cancer called Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and I'm in a hospital in London Called UCLH I've been here for nearly 2 weeks and I was in Great Ormand street hospital for over a month I haven't been home since it's pretty shit cancer I fucking hate having it but I guess some of us have Gotta have it. :(

I realize you may never see this, but I am so proud of what you did for this young man. I have battled cancer twice, I am sure nothing like Alec, but Thank you for giving him that opportunity that you did as often friends and family disappear form cancer patients lives and having a chance to do something, to escape for a time, is a huge gift.

Tom is a great guy and I really hope that this whole situation concerning the claims of him sexually assaulting two women gets settled and that the facts are proven, because I could never imagine a guy like Tom doing those horrible things that he's been accused of doing. Just the way he reacted in this video and also with all of the hard times he's been through and how he always finds a way to stay positive and help others push forward. My mom just recently beat breast cancer, and a month later my dad had a stroke. we were told he would die due to the brain swelling, and they werent able to remove the blood clot. he lost 25% of his brain, but he's fighting SO HARD. He's regained so movement in his right leg and he's able to say "hi" "bye" and "yes" now. He's still got his personality but for a man who has worked so hard and been independent, owned and taken care of everything he's dreamed of, finally moved into his dream home with 60 acres of land and then it happened. Its such a hard situation but my dads positivity keeps us all going through this all. I'm so sorry for your loss, Tom. I know how hard it can be to just think youre going to lose someone this close to you, i cant imagine the pain youre in now. Rest in peace, buddy.

Lost my mom, not to cancer but but her body did turn against her. March 22, a few days after her god damn birthday, and 2 days before my brother's. And every fucking day I hate myself for sitting on the computer all day and not doing anything with my life. Granted, I am a kid, but still. She always said I have the mindset of a 30 year old, and look like a 9 year old.

There was a kid at my school who was battling stage four neuroblastoma which is the most common and one of the most harmful cancers in children and unfortunately he left us September 16, 2014. Most of us had the honor of knowing him and some of us didn't but it was crazy to see our whole entire school and community standing behind him. He may have passed but he did not lose his battle. He fought and he fought hard and any one who has the courage to fight and stay strong during a journey like that, wins. No one loses their battle. As long as you stand up to cancer until you can no longer do so, you've won. I think people overlook those who pass due to the disease but we all know that your friend and every other kid out there who has to suffer through this, has won their battle and is just taking their place to always be remembered. We support you and the family of this kid.

my grandad was diagnosed yesterday with terminal cancer and has been given 4-6 months, I remember going to his house and stepping into the hallway, me, my bro, my dad, my man and grandad all broke down in tears holding each other for about 10 minutes, you don't realise how much you need and love someone until they are leaving

Cancer sucks. I've lost extended family members to cancer. I've seen my teachers and mentors battle cancer. It's just awful. For many years on and off I've participated in the Relay for Life to help raise awareness and fight back. It's such an awful disease. RIP Alec.

Hello Syndicate! I and deeply sorry for your loss.. I really am! I can sadly relate to this.. Please allow me to elaborate. You see, I am a deaf man but I haven't always been deaf! I was born with a horrible disease called Ménière's and after 23 years of my life battling it, it finally took my hearing from me.. At the time, my sister watched you and she helped me through my depression. What she would do is write down the videos for me on paper and then I would read and watch the videos and try my best to follow along! That is how I found you and I've been watching you for about 3 years now! You have really helped me in ways you never knew you even did! So, I just want to tell you "Thank you".. thank you for being there for me when you didn't even know you we're there for me!! To be honest, I've even contemplated suicide but.. watching you and my other favorite youtubers, has really helped me through my depression and made me think in a better state of mind.. I thought going deaf was the worst thing that could ever happen to me, but I was wrong. Few weeks ago, my Doctor diagnosed me with Endocrine cancer. Still waiting on the actual results to be confirmed. I also have a tumor in my appendix....I was doing so good. I was happier than I use to be but this news really hurt me. it brought me down man.. I don't want to go blind too...I don't wanna die either! I just want to fkn live and be normal.. like everyone else.. My sister spent the last half hour writing down this video for me on paper as the KZfaq captions are worthless and when I read and watched this video, it really hit home with me.
