@@falk16 do I change c for d for every prompt to do thus or just the affected command. In my case the ATTRIB command. C: worked fine up until that point. Do I just repeat whole process with D: instead? Sorry maybe a stupid question but I'm clueless when it comes to tech. Tia

When I enter the command "copy *.* .." (astericks arent showing on my end, but I wrote the same command) I dont get a prompt saying to overwrite, instead, it says there is no file in that directory/selected. Any fixes? :( ... Thank you in advance.

The part we’re you type the lines in. Everything works except attrib c: and the ren c: lines. For the attrib one it says path not found c:/boot. For the ren one it says the system cannot find the file specified.

On the second option it didn’t find any Windows installations. I think there might be something wrong with my hard drive, or I need to reseat it but I have never opened up a laptop before.(my issue is with my first laptop, I have a second one but the graphics power of it is terrible)

For cmd part on bcdedit /export c:\ bcdbackup tells me The store export operation failed, the volume does not contain a recognized file, Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted

Try to change your drive letter in the commands from C to D or E and see if it can find your drive, example attrib d:\boot\bcd -h -r -s

If doesn't work, run remove the drives you installed run diskpart to verify the OS drive have the original assigned letter usually "C" (boot), if no reassign, then run system restore from the troubleshooting menu, will run after you restart, then you install your upgrades drives one by one after the diskmanagement one by one.

System restore says you must always restore the drive that contains windows restoring other drives is optional

My english is not very good, but i need to say that, if the "C:" is not working for you, you need to put the disk that your windows is instaled maybe D: E: etc The "C:" is a default for people with one HD or SSD

@@LoverboixLio you going to need second pc and empty usb drive. 1. Install windows 10 to that usb. 2. plug it to the corrupted pc 3. turn that pc on and spam delete ( or key that gets you to bios ). 4 once in bios, boot windows with the usb drive. 5. click install windows, once they ask you where you want to install windows, there will be option for disk formatting, click on it. Then install.

Hi, does not tell you what to do if it does not find file you say, so yr stuck, like boot bcd it says file not found, and type Y says not recognised, there is a file named bcdboot.exe as soon as it fails you can’t go on, but thanks.

I'm getting path not found C:\boot because I'm using a USB to boot from because I couldn't get into the cmd prompt without it.. guess this whole video is pointless if you aren't booting from the C drive.. am I wrong??
