Tecknoble I guess you've never been to Germany. Most of the Germans are as well sick of the f****** Nazis. There is a movement in Germany called "Pegida" (means patriot europeans against the islamisation of the occident) but the countermovement has more than 20 times more supporters - it's partially ridiculous that e.g. in Frankfurt 80 supports of Pegida face 5000 opponents and need to be protected by the police. And yes it's pronounced as Koontz :)

Even though this song was made for the 1998 tournament you can draw a few omens for the 2018 tournament. “Southgate, the whole of England is with you.” Robbie Williams in this video also appeared in the opening ceremony in Russia. No more years of hurt because finally there is no pressure from those British media “Kuntz” to expect this team to go a long way.

I mean, England only beat Sweden and Colombia, teams that were not that good, and lost to Croatia, who also wasn't that good. Croatia subsequently was destroyed by France. England only benefited from having weak opponents. To say it was "nearly so sweet" is absurd. Even if England beat Croatia, it wouldn't have stood a chance against France.

@@gabrielnascimentorm Got further than Spain, Portugal, Holland (didn't even qualify), Germany (didn't even make it out of the group stage), Argentina, and Italy (failed to qualify) so if you wanna talk about us having weak opponents well then we would've played all the teams I've just mentioned but as I said they didn't get as far as us so who we play in the last 16, quarter finals and in the semi finals doesn't matter, those teams still made it further by outperforming the rest so not so "weak" opponents as much are they?

@@gabrielnascimentorm whatever the case, this generation of Englands players are undeniable contenders for the world cup (they have as much potential as the 98' squad, if not better if you want to argue most of their rapid ascentions into notoriety in the past 3 years, coupled with their ages), and really i dont need to mention examples.... if you ask me, assuming southgate is able to manage the team well, i can see our 50+ year drought ending before 2030.

Apparently when I was little (around 3 years old), my dad used to sing me this song to sleep every night and I couldn't sleep without it because it was my favourite song in the world. Abengance Woah, slow down looool, it was a great match, but we still need to improve. We still only just came back against a weak Germany side. At full strength they'd have had an easier time against us. This just proves you have to be at your best to beat us, it shows that we can go toe to toe with the second best, which is an improvement because normally a subpar German team would beat us. It's progress, but we need to be able to consistently beat Spain and France and Germany etc. to win tournaments. Which is the end game. Still got a bit of a ways to go yet. :)

This team was the last hope for us English to ever raise a trophy. I was too young to remember the 86/90 teams but this team and the Euro 96 team deserved so much more. Couldn't give a fuck about the current bunch of comb overs.

0:28 Heartbreaking moment. As a german, who supports England since '86 thank's to Lineker, I can't stand watching England vs Germany anymore. Was hoping this July the curse would be broken. Thank's to corona we have to wait another year. At least the 30 years for my fav. PL club LFC are over! :)
