Yeah, too bad Godzilla vs Kong couldn't follow these characters, because it took place way back in the '70s. The most interesting thing about the sequel was the fight scenes.
@jneumy566
@jneumy566 Жыл бұрын
GvK is my favorite just because the fight was the highest bar I had and I really didn't expect it to live up to all the hype that was building but somehow it did. But this is definitely the best of the movies in terms of its balance between the monster stuff and the human stuff. Godzilla 2014 had a big and pretty well thoughtout human story, but very little of Godzilla and monster fighting. King of the Monsters had a lot of Godzilla and monsters and really fun callbacks to the history of the Godzilla movies, but the human story suffered from it. And that was double for GvK because the fights were the most important thing to focus on because of all the hype and the human story really did just exist to give the fight a reason to happen.

@@melanie62954 well the critic and the fan want the fight scene more than the character scene. The movie was gonna be long, but they cut out off all of the characters stories. So blame the hate and the critic for changing the movie.

Fun fact: Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has said that the filmmakers intentionally tried to differentiate the Kong design in this film from the design featured in the 2005 film directed by Peter Jackson. Rather than making the design resemble a gigantic silverback gorilla that walks on all four limbs like in Jackson's film, the designers chose to have Kong stand upright like a human. A major reason for this was to show that Kong is his own species that has its "own set of rules, so [the filmmakers] can do what we want and [they] really wanted to pay homage to what came before...and yet do something completely different.

"Sometimes an enemy doesn't exist till you go looking for one." perfectly sums up this movie. If the soldiers and Monarch didn't drop the charges then they wouldn't have anger Kong or woken up so many of the Skull-Crawlers, and is seen with all the other creatures. The spider stepped on one of the soldiers and was defending it's self when the other soldiers started attacking it. The same with the birds, when one was killed, the others went to attack the threat. Compared to Hiddleston and some of the others who weren't so keen to just "shoot first, ask questions later", like with the giant water buffalo.
@radioraheem9820
@radioraheem9820 8 ай бұрын
The spider was a little different. In this universe, the mother long legs (the spider) can absorb nutrients through its legs. It was hunting the soldiers but wasn't ready for guns.

This version of Kong, as presented in this movie, is over one hundred feet tall… and he’s still just a kid. He’s barely entered his teens by the standard of his species, and he’s still considered gifted, a mutant even among his species, because he’s already the size his parents were when they died, and yet he’s only a third of his maximum size he can grow to, for matching up with Godzilla. So he does some growing in the time from this movie to the end of the Monsterverse. The actor who plays Chapman is one of the motion capture actors who plays Kong, and he’s also the one who plays Koba in the Planet of the Apes trilogy. You can kind of see Koba’s face in his if you look closely, and any time Kong actually sneers with rage, he actually has the same sneer Koba had. This will be really prominent in one particular scene in Godzilla vs Kong, so watch for it. You’ll be watching Kong, and for the briefest instant, see Koba’s face in his features when he sneers and snarls.

For me, the best King Kong film is still Peter Jackson's from 2005. But I was pleasantly surprised by this film, it's not as good as Peter Jackson's film, but it's a very well-made popcorn film that's just supposed to be fun. I also like that 70's style and also the music from the decade. What I also think is great is that humanity is still evolving. Once upon a time, the USA and Vietnam were at war (which shouldn't be forgotten either) but they are getting closer to each other again and that always touches me a lot. Kong: Skull Island was also filmed extensively in Vietnam.

They didn't pull punches with this movie. It feels like a war movie. Jackson as the desperate for a mission losing his mind military commander is just awesome. The scientists trying to figure things out and follow their mission goals. Kong is raw natural brutality that just can't be matched. The graphics are great, the visuals are beautiful. There are some absolutely epic shots in this film... and it sets the stage for the monsterverse. The films with Godzilla after this one are really good, and when Kong and the big G finally meet, it's a pretty epic movie. And more coming, including a new one from Toho!! The cast in this film is also incredibly stacked. And they all do a really good job. She's up for the cover of Time for her photos and she takes this random survey job... only to discover a lost tribe of people and monsters. I think her career is okay. Hiddleston's character is just awesome as hell. The humor in the movie is very well done and always feels like it belongs in the situation. And the ending for the pilot is very touching. Jackson's character isn't an asshole... he's been mentally screwed up by a horrific war and then the idea of just walking away from it. His comment about cameras is extremely telling. His need to complete the mission... he's got issues, but he's not an asshole. He just can't let go. He needs help, but he is in no way ready to get it. Or in a place he can.

All these movies bring out the high tech compared to the suits in the early movies I grew up with watching on Saturday mornings. So great to see these making a come back. Godzilla was the starting point with each Monster Verse movie getting better and better with the Godzilla vs Kong being utterly outstanding giving that Saturday morning vibe. Looking forward to KOTM as it really gets things moving...

The giant bugs were scary on this one, but I can't forget the centipedes scene on Peter Jackson's version. That one traumatized me.

I wasn’t aware u til this year that all these movies were connected.. this is the only one I’ve seen an I ABSOLUTELY love this movie.. I saw it in the cinema and maybe 5-10 times since. I need to check out the rest of them.. I can’t imagine how Godzilla is involved.

Yes. That is all. You gents may take care of the rest Edit: Having watched this with you guys, must comment that Larson is far more accessible in this film than in any of her Marvel efforts. I actually saw emotion and smiles. This is a great Kong movie.

41:23 that is Ghidorah, and he is not an Earth Titan, he is an alien Titan from a different planet, and he is the ancient arch nemesis of Godzilla.

Definitely a big step up from godzilla 2014... This is my second favourite after godzilla vs kong... You got to remember the budgets went up as the movie franchise progressed so they had more to spend on tge cgi which enabled them to showcase the monsters more which is why godzilla wasnt shown as much in the first movie, you'll definitely see him more often in the next movies!... Fantastic reaction as always though guys!! What franchise next? Jurassic park?🤔

Last week, when you said there was too little monsters, I didn't want to spoil you with the totally opposite approach that would be coming. I loved the current Godzilla movie...but I remain team 100% Kong. When I was a kid, the original Kong used to scare the mess out of me because every time they moved the model, his fur would move. That just creeped me the hell out.

Noice I love this movie. I agree a lot, I definitely feel this movie took the downsides of Godzilla and decided to improve on it. Which gives me a lot of respect for the ones behind this. Learn what didn't work and make it better. The cast was amazing. Not gonna lie I have a thing for Tom Hiddleston and this movie gave so much eye candy, lol. Really all their performances were amazing. I loved all the gory stuff, for me it cemented how this really is a world of monsters. Even if Kong is a good guy, just how much weaker and vulnerable humans are. The CGI and all the details was phenomenal. I am glad you guys liked it. i can't wait to see you continue it!

This movie was way better than I thought it would be. I was expecting a mindless monster movie with two-dimensional excuses for characters. What I got instead was a charismatic cast of characters, a military leader who wasn't just a warmongering a*hole and an island setting that's just fascinating on it's own.
