Your service to our game will remain for ages to come. The lesson that shuttle should drop infront of head was revealing. Have been playing for 10years but not one never stops learning.

Hello Lee. I think the example of boxing is not correct as in boxing we use our wrist and have a different point of contact than badminton racquet. With badminton racquet you can't hit by pushing forward but we need a downward force. Also the action you demonstrate won't help to open up the chest to generate power in the swing. With all due respect I wanna say It's just what I have learned and my point of view. However there are lot of videos which has been so informative for lot of people. Thanks

thx coach,I usually see where I want to hit the shuttle and then the opponent can read it. how to solve that?
@coachingbadminton-korean9409
@coachingbadminton-korean9409 7 жыл бұрын
In that case you should hit the corner where your opponent is not expecting. Let say you see his right front corner is empty and your opponent also know then you should not hit there. You should hit the opposite corner. You can still hit it there if you think even he knows you hit it there, he can not return it as he is too far away. So it is very much depending on. Lee

Coach Lee. your skills are fabulous but I find that there is so much emphasis and repetition of the the bad way of hitting that this tends to create a video on how to hit it badly instead of your intent to correct as the image of hitting it the wrong way is burnt into our memories instead of the right technique. Looking for more right than wrong. :-) Hope this feedback helps. Thank you for your many postings!

SweetAsHoney Too much reinforces the wrong muscle memory. The cases that I have seen the wrong way was significantly more than twice the length of the right way. Just saying that it is something to keep note of that is all.

I think what Marcus is saying is that it should not be done too much. He is not against me talking and showing about the wrong way but not too much is whay he is pointing out which I agree with him. On the other side I also agree with you that is why I put my stress to the wrong action. Thank you for your comment. Lee

You should be able to do all three. Side by side, left foot forward and right foot forward. Depebding on the situation you need to do all of them. It is wrong to say you must do it a way all the time. Lee

Robin Regi Thomas that's a common movement used by many players not just LYD. Kicking your leg back helps you unlock your shoulder making it easier to extend your arm. Don't just copy techniques without knowing about its purpose. It can look very awkward, and harmful to your body if your movements are not natural (like pronation which coach Lee made a video about it).
