It was a lighthearted drama with some heavy notes but this scene is what gave the ending the completion it needed. Very emotional and brilliant acting. Both actors really shined throughout. A very enjoyable watch.

100% agree. I have watched so many kdramas. There is zero chance they have a reconciliation scene like this that ends with them hugging to then have a time jump and have the couple not be together with no explanation what so ever.

It's not almost it's truly different feeling and it's give us that she's the bad in this situation not him and she's the one needs to apologize and I don't getting that she just leave and live her life and get well and have know people around here like she said and return to him to make him apologize for not fight for her to stay 🤯 and he get depression and sadness after she left him and she act like in the losing side , she just find him a simp without backbone and he can't tell her no , and she telling him she don't need him anymore or any man , and after she get all what she wanted she decided to come to him lol I find it funny how he's the one in fault not her and if not him she's nothing but still she needs him to force her to stay ( she's 304 slept with a lot of men !? no? )

He gave up bc of what her agent told him about being shredded when dating a celeb in Korea. The pressure was just too much for a 21 yo to stand up and fight.

The ending I didn't really like. He passed her and didn't look back, she passed him and looked back. I feel Asian countries shouldn't dictate who celebrities( music or movie industries ) can spend their "personal time or life with!" They are giving the Public their talents; nothing Else belongs to the Public! Nothing Else! 🐾🦊🌴🦋🌺

There have been some good analysis about what the last episode. It's open to one's personal interpretation as to whether you believe they end up together. But if they are or if they are not, they are both happy and moving forward in their lives. This lack of a definitive resolution is in my opinion an artistic way to end the show. @@q8middeeast781

When he said " I missed you too" she absolutely broke. His attitude before was Cold and indifferent about seeing her. You see with this scene he has been living with regret ever since they broke up. She has been holding out hope and he really needed to express his regret for not going after her.

Their love is so powerful that breaking up will make them both miserable. This scene just gave us the idea that they can’t live without each other. Even though there was no proper ending and leave everyone guessing I would definitely sure that they definitely ended up and live happily ever after. 👍😍

At the start of episode 9 when they met, won jun faintly smiled. Also, won jun has the same clothes when doona noticed him in the hall in the ending scene of episode 9. Also, won jun smiles when he's looking for cakes which means something positive. Also remember the scene where won jun is mad at doona for leaving him at her grandma's place with her manager? He made her say sorry and they made up. Well, in episode 9 it's the opposite. Doona made him say sorry and for sure they made up as well like when won jun made her say sorry. Also, camera pointed in the bed which says something. They put hints that they are dating secretly. The director won't obviously portray that they are dating but he shows it in small details. The scenes are not always chronological as well.

@@melviecarlos3181 yeh im with you ❤️ Everyone have their own opinion I also want happy ending ❤️ The ending is really sad 😢 In whole season they just suffer the pain of separation and in the end where they should get together they got separated instead.😢 This is my first k-drama ever i have seen and the day i completed it i didn’t sleep properly for 2-3 days i really just cant move on from DOONA because of its open ending or i have some misunderstandings with ending most of the people saying they got together again they are secretly dating if we see the starting of last episode (episode 9)in which they were meeting in fields of Japan so it can be happy ending but just 9 episodes are not enough at all there is so much left to show. In DOONA like in DOONA SEASON2 they can show DOONA completing her contractual years and WON JUN getting good job and finally they will get married Im really hoping for SEASON 2 and want to see DOONA we cant move on from DOONA we want SEASON 2 the ending is not satisfying us at all we want SEASON2 with happy ending We miss you DOONA please comeback And there is mistake of WON JUN as well when we see in last train scene DOONA SPEAKING TO WON JUN on that time he should tell every thing how how he feels about DOONA he just didn’t spoke anything why he let her go its WON JUN’s mistake as well WE WANT SEASON 2 OF DOONA❤️❤️

Just finished this drama. I gotta say, all the necessary scenes are there for a happy ending. I am not sure how people think they did not get back together. This scene says it all. Donna forgave him for not fighting for her on that train station. They both acknowledged that they both still have feelings for each other. They were in the bar, Donna asks if he listens to her music. You can clearly see him wearing headphones and smiling while walking. It’s just a vague scene where the director doesn’t tell you straight on what is happening with words and all. The scenes in Japan are way too obvious of a clue for people not to pick up on. They cross paths a lot for it to be a coincidence.

usually dramas that start around 3rd to 4th quarter of the year would only be eligible for an award the next year, so i think this year, hopefully they get a nomination for couple of the year atleast

Yang Se Jong has had already two nominations for his acting in Doona. One was for Apan Star Awards (Jo Han Chul and Park Hae Soo won) and the other one was for some 2024 brand award (Ryu Seung Ryong won).

In the beginning of the last episode we see Won Jun suffering with loneliness because Doona is gone and he can't contact her. He writes to her every day explaining how much he misses her. Then he finally sees her standing on a foot bridge waiting for him after she snuck away from her handlers and he acts like, "Oh, it's you." That doesn't make any sense at all. A long hug and some tears would have made sense but not that. And then he won't return her toast when she says we can have more time together in a few years because I'll have more control over my life. He's going in the Army for two years anyway so why wouldn't he accept that and say, yeah, we can make it? It makes no sense at all.

Im not siding with wonjun or anyone, but how come you arent saying anything about doona? she didnt say nothing to him, seen the ring not wore by her, found out everything by himself, she goes back being an idol without saying anything? which she had the chance to talk it out before giving up her phone. reading ur comment felt like wonjun's loneliness as u said felt overlooked?

@@someonerepliedto5791 She explained herself a few times through the series. She explained how she always realizes what she'd done after the fact (pushing people away) and how it drives her crazy. They did talk about her returning to singing and he said, "If you want to sing you should sing." She told him exactly what was going to happen if she went back, and that's exactly what happened. After she returned to idol status and what seemed like, IDK, maybe 10 months without seeing each other? She snuck away to see him. This is the scene where's she's waiting for him on the bridge. And Won Jun is like, "Oh look, its Doona." He doesn't say anything to her, or run to her or anything. It made no sense. Her not wearing the ring was symbolic of how her career would come between them. She could have done a better job communicating overall but I think the burden of why that relationship failed is on Won Jun.

@@someonerepliedto5791 In my comment I described how she explained what going back to singing meant and Won Jun told her to go for it. I also described how she explained to Won Jun how she screws up the important things in her life and regrets it later. So he had both those facts before he got all butt hurt about the truth of what she told him coming true. She was willing to wait for him, he was not willing to wait for her. What part did you not understand?

Since it was a reflection back to when he was having her beg, she should’ve asked at the end if he hated her now because of their conversation in bed after they had made up. Then, to mimic her response to him in that past begging sequence, he should have replied, “I love you” Boom.

Love her and she was great but this was the worse written storyline ever, casting was terrible, and the ending as so bad i would have to say it was “Disgusting” i don’t think i will watch anything written by this person nor directed by this person again.
