BAFTA Television Awards viewers left in hysterics after Judi Love appears to show her real feelings towards Lorraine Kelly with telling reaction to presenter's speech for special prize
Judi Love raised eyebrows on Sunday as she attended the 2024 British Academy Television Awards at London's Royal Festival Hall and appeared to show her real feelings towards Lorraine Kelly.
The 43-year-old talk show panellist, who has been a regular member of the Loose Women line-up since 2020, joined several other stars at the star-studded awards ceremony.
However, fans were left in hysterics when Judi appeared to roll her eyes over Lorraine, 64, winning a prestigious TV BAFTA award.
Acting and presenting talent from major shows including Happy Valley, I’m A Celebrity, and Succession were up for awards - with the change of winning statuettes and the admiration and congratulations of their peers.
However, some fans were left wondering whether there was some tension between Judi and Lorraine as a camera cut to her looking unimpressed as the TV host made her acceptance speech after being crowned the winner of the BAFTA Special Award.
The gong was awarded to her for her outstanding contribution to the television industry - as she has been on screens for four decades as of this year.
Lorraine was handed her award by Brian Cox - and was cheered on by the theatre full of stars.
As she bowed out of her acceptance speech, Lorraine cheerfully quipped: 'I’m on the telly tomorrow, but I’m going to celebrate tonight. Thank you so much!'
Cameras then showed I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec smiling manically while clapping away and The Sixth Commandment star Anne Reid was also shown politely clapping along.
However, as cameras moved to Judi, she appeared less than impressed as she seemingly refused to applaud and rolled her eyes.
Fans watching the awards from home then took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts on Judi's reaction.
One fan comically wrote: 'Judi Love's reaction to Lorraine's award' - alongside two skull emjois implying they were 'dying' over the response.
Another quipped: 'Judi knows Lorraine not coming back to work this Friday haha';
'I clocked that too (laughing emoji)';
'AHAHAHAHAA I LOVE JUDI SO MUCH';
While another wrote: 'I'm with Judi'
This year's BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises was hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan for the second year in a row.
The TV stars who appear in the reality travel series Rob And Romesh Vs together hosted the annual awards ceremony for the first time last year.
Rob, 38, said: 'Romesh and I are absolutely buzzing to be back hosting the Baftas.
'We've not seen or spoken to each other since last year when we hosted so it will be good to catch up.
'It's a real privilege to continually get work together even though our friendship is fake and completely fabricated for commercial gain.
'My teeth aren't even that big I wear false ones so I can joke about them.
'On top of that Romesh isn't even Asian he just pretends to be so he can do his mum's accent'.
Romesh, 45, joked that he thought he had 'done enough' last year to be asked to host it solo this year, adding: 'Hosting it with Rob again is also an honour I suppose'.
In addition to announcing this year's nominations, BAFTA also announced P&O Cruises as its headline sponsor for a subsequent year.
The stars in the running for the Leading Actress gong included Anjana Vasan for Black Mirror, Anne Reid in The Sixth Commandment and Bella Ramsey for The Last Of Us.
Also nominated in the category was Helena Bonham Carter for Nolly, Sarah Lancashire for Happy Valley and Sharon Horgan for her role in Best Interests.
In the Leading Actor category, Brian Cox was nominated for Succession, Dominic West for The Crown and Kane Robinson for Top Boy.
Also in the running was Paapa Essiedu for The Lazarus, Steve Coogan for The Reckoning and Timothy Spall in The Sixth Commandment.
Despite the strong lineup, fans were disappointed that Happy Valley's James Norton didn't make it into the shortlist for Best Actor.
