According to Air India’s delayed, lost and damaged baggage T&C, on domestic flights , if entire checked baggage is delivered the following day / subsequently, 50 % of the amount, towards purchase of casual /formal clothes like shirts, pants, night suits etc. may be reimbursed, subject to a maximum of INR 2000/-.
However, this compensation is not payable when the passenger is returning to his base station / home airport.
For baggage which is not received , contact Air India personnel in the arrival hall and report the same. A Property Irregularity Report will be filed and a copy will be given with a reference number for follow up action.
However, according to Force Majeure Clause, airlines are not obligated to pay compensation in cases where delays were caused by unanticipated events or events which could not have been avoided if all reasonable measures had been taken. For Eg: acts of nature (e.g. floods and hurricanes) or acts of people (e.g. riots, strikes, and wars).
