Best throwback mechanics of all the QB’s drafted, based on the footage I’ve watched of each since. Also, I watched the pro days of all the big names, and all of them-aside of Pickett-do NOT have pro ready arm’s or mechanics. Talk about fluff for the “hype tape”? Never seen so much bullshit on a pro day as I did watching the kid from North Carolin, or the highlight reel of Ridder. This kid is at least sound fundamentally, will be able to be an accurate passer in the pros, if nothing else. The ability to read pro defenses and make good decisions are the only barriers to success for this guy. With the other guys-again, Pickett aside-they don’t have that same foundation, so they’re going to have to rely on their athleticism, and that is no bueno in the pros, unless you’re super duper elite athleticism like Lamar Jackson. I would have happily taken this guy and gambled that he could indeed by “the biggest sleeper in the draft” like this video said.
