He's a straight dropback passer who stands tall in the pocket, doesn't show nervous feet, and does a nice job working through his progressions. He's not going to try to force the action, rarely trying to perform beyond his capability. With more experience, the right coaching and some patience he could be special. Needs playing time. If Jones gets benched or injured, I can see this kid keeping the starting job for the remainder of the year.

This kid is so special. What a loss for pats that he didn't play the rest of the season. Zappe plays with the calm, confidence and rhythm of TB12

You know, BOB got a lot of flak for the Houston situation, and a lot of it was deserved. But what he does know how to do is make a QB better than he is. The numbers don’t lie that all the Texans QBs under his coaching had the best seasons of their careers. That list could include DW4, if he doesn’t do better in Cleveland. I’d like to see what Bill can do with Zappe, considering how he turned Penn State around.

I’ve been a fan of Mac Jones since day one, but Zappe just looks so much more confident and comfortable in the pocket. I wouldn’t mind seeing more play time for him this coming season.

The pats need to start zappe next season. His form, his everything reminds me of Tom brady. He has so much untapped potential.

@@RyanM0526 1. Brady is the best ever. A better Peyton. A nuclear rocket launcher for an arm 2.Zappe is a backup level QB 3. Mac is a backup QB as well

Well if you remember, Mac’s pocket presence in his first season was VERY similar to Brady’s. That was Zappe’s first season, so we’ll just have to see who can remain calm and confident in the pocket this year.

Mack is a much smaller version of Bledsoe, just watch him throw. They failed to allow Zappe to fail. Imagine if Brady had never been given a decent opportunity. Belichick FAILED on this one big time. Zappe is fearless, Mac is scared out of the huddle.

If Zappe was so much better than Mac how come not one teammate lined up to support him. Yet they all line up behind Mac and talk about how much of a great leader he is.
