The Bajaj Pulsar 150 and TVS Apache RTR 160 have been battling it out for the hearts and minds of young riders since 2016. And that battle rages on today with the recently updated Apache RTR 160 2V and the all-new Pulsar P150. Both bikes offer a good blend of sportiness and everyday usability. But does the updated, but still rather long in the tooth Apache have what it takes to fight the P150, which is hands down the best Pulsar 150 till date?
Both these bikes take slightly different approaches to wooing the youth, with TVS delivering the more edgy and sharp motorcycle, while Bajaj has built this new Pulsar with a focus on everyday usability, but not completely sacrificing fun in the process. The Apache also brings to the fight a wider plethora of features such as an all LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity as well as three riding modes which change power and torque output and throttle response to suit various riding conditions. The Pulsar on the other hand seems almost basic. But sometimes, going back to the basics is best, right?

Case1: The design is very old and doesn't look attractive now. Case2: The design is legendary and immortal. Still looks stunning even after decades. That's how reviews can be twisting depending upon what they like to say. Better, go for what pleases you.

So the Apache is faster in a straight line, faster in corners, overall more fun to ride, better quality, better reliability, gets more features and will get you better fuel efficiency as well if you use the riding modes. While the Pulsar looks better, is smoother and slower. Is this even a fair comparison?

Yes it is bcoz Apache lack refinment most people dont do drag race or 0-100, its all about relax riding comfort. And easy handling and no vibration at all till 90km thats enough. Apache lacks all this and also Pulsar is All new model.. Apache is 10 year old.. ZIG Wheels have not done any mistake we can blindly pic the winner..

I have been an apache fan all my life because of their acceleration and handling and adrenaline pumping nature. But now at the age of 28 i am leaning towards the new pulsar due to its comfort, refinement and linear & wider torque delivery and its easy going Nature. Even after knowing that this decade old apache 2v could smoke the new pulsar p150 and more expensive N160 at any given time, I'll still go for Pulsar kyuki shayad me ab launde se uncle ho gya hu. 😂😂

But being honest..I own the TVS RTR APACHE 160 2012 model..and it still works like a charm. No problems faced, no major issues. Left it in the corner of my building for a year and started it thereafter and it works beautifully 🥰..ridden it on roads, no roads, off roads..And won't give out issues like the Bajaj and the after sales is good👌🏼 The parts are a little expensive than the Bajaj counterpart but they last longer. The only thing that you would dislike is the vibrations all over the place at any given speed..🥲😐

I own Apache 160 2v.....to me it is the better bike.....the design stayed so long due to its success, also the engine is reliable unlike the competition. I will go for Apache anyday

TVS should not give up on semi digital speedometer Bajaj redesign the meter but TVS just slapped rtr200's speedometer. I don't know what but there is something intoxicating about Analogue tachometer

I've APACHE 180 since dec, 2015. Clocked around 75k and no major repairs or problems I love my beast no rusting, no electronics problem, no swinging tail, no jumping jacks indicators, no poor handling, very soft and smooth ride not hard and stiff like pulsar handling and ride comfort is very very superior I've done 400 kms in a stretch. Apache is better than Pulsar. Pulsar's are cheap to buy and maintain but APACHE is a class above.

I don't race. I need smooth vibe free ride, great suspension, great low rpm torque, Relax seating posture, good gas mileage, relax engine on 70 80kmph. So, i will pick P 150 anytime.

What do u mean by the Apache is analogue in a digital world? It's the one having bluetooth connectivity and riding modes, not the Pulsar.. And by engines, both are 2vs which is seen as an older tech now. Only the monoshock, headlight and gear indicator are the few advanced upgrades in the Pulsar.

Despite the counter balancer, pulsar p150 has vibrations. Warning It's not ultra refined. Go for it only if you don't feel any vibrations. Vibrations are there in footpegs tank and bar ends. Take care. Cheers.

I can write it and give you RTR engine will be in same condition after 7to8 yrs also with ready to race mode... Every one knows about pulsar engine after 25k KLM will face power loss and lots of problems...

Best bike for young riders in every segment TVS Raider 125 Apache RTR 160 4V or Yamaha MT-15 Pulsar RS 200 TVS Ronin 225 (looks average) HUNTER 350/Classic 350/Meteor 350 CB 350 RS/ Highness P.S. I am not a fan of Dukes. Jawa 42 2.1 is a good bike but lacks reliability and mileage, Jawa bobbers are impractical.

For me pulsar somehow doesn't feel the value for money product as it kind off looks like off and something less. Which Fatboy Apache is offering. Well in the end it's an individual's choice but it's difficult to choose.

Rtr engines are became quicker then old.... example is Rtr 4v.. u have to drive with ear phones n helmet... othetwise disgusting sounds from engine n silencer make u angry... n u may feel u r driving cheeper bike...where as pulsar became more refined then before... example twin disk pulsar 150.. which is unmatchable refinement compared to 2016pulsar.. this is my experience.. I brought rtr4v in 2018 instead of pulsar 180... now I feel sorry about my decision
