Join Amy for an update to her baking haul. I initially ordered a baking pan set from Amazon. After unboxing it, I decided to return it because it was low quality. I was able to get a great deal on a set of Williams-Sonoma Goldtouch Bakeware. It was on sale and I got a great deal! Amy Learns to Cook is all about learning to make simple, tasty food from fresh ingredients. One year ago, I made a commitment to stop eating processed convenience foods. I decided to learn to cook "real" food. Join me! Let's learn to cook together! Enjoy! Please share!

Hi Amy: Just watched that wonderful haul you bought. I live in Canada, and we don't get William-Sonoma, too bad they look amazing.Enjoy all your baking and show us some videos of you using your 8Qt Kitchen aid and those lovely pans. Have a great day.

Thanks for watching and commenting. That's the one problem with Canada is limited access to some of the cookware and the exchange rate is kinda expensive. I hope you have a chance to do a road trip and stock up when there's a good sale. I'll have to remind Amy to use her mixer, especially when it's sitting out like that. I hope you have a great day as well.

I've tried all kinds of coated sheets and none work out. They warp, or they stain or the coating comes off. I purchased an Artisan half sheet which is aluminum with a galvanized rod to prevent warping. Once I went aluminum, never going to coated or any other again. Cleans up great and cooks like a champ. I got one pan and one of their non-stick silicone pads to match the pan for like $25 on Amazon. I highly recommend a reinforced commercial grade aluminum pan over anything coated or non-stick for sure. These look good but I'd still be very weary of using them, especially in any type of high heat situations or issues with the coating coming off or staining. BTW, your video's are great. Just found you fairly recently and love what your doing. Learning some things as I go. I'm not any kind of pro, but like to try things on my own from time to time in the kitchen. Yes men, you can give the wife a break and try it on your own in the kitchen too!!! People like Amy on here are a big help for us men wanting to try to do stuff as well as our wives and mothers. Thanks Amy!

I've had aluminum sheet pans but I am the type that puts everything in the dishwasher. The raw aluminum pans would probably give off aluminum oxide if you ran them in the dishwasher. These ones from Williams-Sonoma are great. They are made by USA Pans and they really hold up well. Thanks for the nice comment. The videos are a fun hobby (but challenging). I've had to not only learn to cook but also to make videos, editing, etc. I am still learning and hopefully my videos will improve over time. I look back at the ones I made int he beginning and I am surprised how far I have come in terms of the quality of the videos.

Thanks!! One of my biggest challenges are the "B" roll closeup shots. I have a bar type counter that gets in the way so the angle makes it hard to see sometimes. I've tried a straight overhead shot and it kind of made me feel like I was falling into it LOL! So...At some point I will get it worked out...Right now I use a small tripod on the counter but I may move to some kind of jib or boom...it would make it easier to shoot and the angle would be better. I guess that is how it is...a learning process.

I love the Goldtouch! I just picked up a "copper" version on the WS Goldtouch. It's a set of 2 cookie sheets and a cooling rack in one box. We are losing our Williams Sonoma at the Augusta mall, it's closing. The copper version was clearanced already, plus 40 percent off because of the store closing.. Real cheap copper gold touch! These cookie sheets need nothing on them to work, I love them!

Have you checked out the company named "Fat Daddio's"? Odd name, I agree, but you'll love their products...best cake pans in all sizes. I do love the Williams-Sonoma Gold Touch bakeware too. Great selection, Amy!

I just bought the smaller kit . I had have a few larger ones. Cookie sheet and 12 muffin pan. They bake real nice. I like the weight and build of them. If someone distracts you while your baking, just keep one not in use to the side. Wack them like they think they were in the WWE. Ha Ha. The gold touch is good stuff.

Amy, thanks for all you do from all of us who want to know. I really appreciate this particular video because i'm in the process of getting my bake ware stuff. Have you considered or used any OXO Good Grips nonstick bake ware? USA PAN manufacture both William Sonoma and OXO but i've never used either. Have you ever compared two brand names made from the same company?
@AmyLearnsToCook

I saw a few OXO bakeware items at the USA Pan's factory sale. Before seeing it, I didn't realize that they made them for OXO. I've never tried them.

Hi Amy, how are these gold pans holding up? They are obviously beautiful when new and it is about time I buy new baking pans...but I read from others that these are difficult to clean and peel over time. How are your pans now that it has been 7 years? Thanks!

Hi Amy, I have gently used William Sonoma bakeware: 2- 9inch rounds, a loaf pan and 2 mini, an 8 & 9 inch square, a 13 x 9, 2 cookie sheets, a muffin pan, and 2 cooling racks, and a large jelly roll pan. I have barely used them maybe 2-3 times tops. I would love to mail them to you as I do not use them.

Those look really nice. I got a Winco nonstick deep dish pizza pan from Amazon some time ago and sent it back as you did. Pizza stuck really bad 😕

@EricLearnstoCook 8 жыл бұрын
Sorry the non-stick didn't work. The fact those were hard anodized and not dishwasher safe tells you the quality (or lack thereof) compared to other pans that are hard anodized and are dishwasher safe. Gotta love Amazon's return policy :-) Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.

Why buy lower quality equipment and suffer when you can take advantage of a great sale and be happy? Seems like the choice is obvious. Good video.
@EricLearnstoCook
@EricLearnstoCook 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for late rely. I agree with you. Good pans help you not suffer. We have Calphalon pans that are OK. OK until you put in a hot oven. That strange noise is them warping baking a pizza. These are good pans. Amy loves them. We appreciate you watching our videos.

Why spend the extra money if the cooking surface of parchment paper will be the same? That makes no sense?
@EricLearnstoCook
@EricLearnstoCook 7 жыл бұрын
CF, thanks for watching. We appreciate it. If I understand your comment correctly, you're bringing up a point that it doesn't matter what brand of bakeware you use if you're putting your food on parchment paper. In terms of releasing food, that may be a valid point. But the other properties such as even cooking temperature, less chance of this brand warping in hotter ovens, etc. still apply with (or without parchment paper). Amy loves this brand for one reason: It's awesome, but it can be expensive unless you find it on sale or can get it at an outlet store. She loves this brand for bread pans.

@AmyLearnsToCook

+Irene Fowler It depends. The bakeware was not sponsored. A lot of times, I purchase most things out of pocket. A few items have been sent by the company and I indicate in the video and the description that I received it. If there is no mention, then I purchased it out of my own money which most of that time that is the case.
