I loved the fact that most bakugan traps we saw were said to be revived ancient bakugan. Fun fact i learned is that volts mechanic trap bakugan carlvelt was actually the japanese name and his english name was apparently hexstar according the wiki atleast.

It's a shame that the Bakugan Traps didn't stick around after New Vestroia. I still love them even today - hell, I have 4 Bakugan Traps at home - and I feel that they could have still been useful in Gundalian Invaders and Mechtanium Surge.

I would have liked the battles in new vestroia to be like the original series because then the bakugan traps could have had some special function. Like for example that you could only carry one in addition to the three normal bakugan and they could be put in at any time of the game (even in the middle of a battle) and that they had some unique effect each one, but to compensate they had few G's. As if they were a card that you have to know how to use carefully to get out of complicated situations. Because in the end in new vestroia they are nothing more than normal bakugan that can be used at all times and the only thing different is their non-spherical shape

Trap Bakugan were an interesting gimmick, but I blame Dan not really using his Trap Bakugan often enough killed the gimmick. All the good/cool Trap Bakugan were given to the edgy rivals and the comic relief.

In other words bakugan traps were essentially battle gear before there was battle gear
