I feel like spectra wasn't really interested in dan at the beginning. He was dead-set on getting drago from dan. He always glazed over when dan started talking and just concentrated on drago's powers . But, he started treating dan with respect after he got drago back from him.

Kinda of the same with masquerade. He just thought Dan was some average brawler with a powerful bakugan. However, he grew to respect Dan and respected him enough to help him at the end of the first season. (Yes I know it was Alice alter-ego but masquerade was willing to take over again and kept his side of the deal.)

Asad Egal I liked Alice more. Her character might not have been given as much focus as Shun, but it had heaps of potential. New Vestroia could've been a great oppurtinity to see Alice actually have some interaction with the whole group, and maybe grow closer to Dan & Drago along way, as if she felt guilty for Masquerade having sent them to the Doom Dimension. I know Shun's character is more applicable for a long-winded series like New Vestroia, but I always found Alice to have so much untapped potential and I'm still sad we saw so little of her.

Why is Subterra the most shunned of the elements? Julie gets the least screen time of the Brawlers, Billy gets a massive 4 episodes, and Gus is irrelevant after the first 8 episodes of S2. *Le sigh*

Julian no matter what you say, subterra brawlers were very much expressed in S2. Gus maybe irrelevant after the first few episodes with him, but he and Hydron get a whole 4-5 more episodes to themselves after the first half of NV. In addition, Mira gets a bunch of screen time and a lot of character development in this season, especially her drama with Keith/Spectra for so long.

I love this anime but i just hate that the writers are inconsistent about the whole game/battle abililities and power ups and how the only consistent main characters are Dan, Shun, Marucho and Drago . I mean sure they show the others sometimes but wtf ??

Rewatching the series really pointed out how inconsistent the writers were about what's an ability card, gate card, etc. Sometimes the characters would say something like "Gate Card, open!" when they're simply setting a gate card. Don't even get me started on that stock magic sound effect they used for setting gate cards in Season 1.

Ground, yes. But not rock. In the previous episode, I believe, Gus mentions that vulcan's body is comprised of the finest metal in new vestroia. Taking that into consideration, Vulcan should probably be steel/ground.

I felt sorry for Dharak, if he wasn't paired with an evil power hungry brawler things may have been different, I'm just glad Helios was redeemed after suffering so much

Dharak is nice, design-wise. I believe in terms of the relationship between the main character and villain/rival, Hydranoid and Helios win on that front. Helios more so than Hydranoid, in my humble opinion.
