Balatro's Green Deck + Gold Stake Is Very Nuanced (1.01 Update)

Balatro has a public experimental 1.01 update now, with a lot of changes I point out in the video. The most important is that Orange Stake and Gold Stake, the hardest difficulties, instead of RNG-increasing downsides, now give more interesting joker modifiers.
Green Deck is um, a deck that I really am torn on its design, it incentivizes oneshots but the whole thing is a winmore, and it's also pretty silly that so many cards incentivize stalling a round and it's better than Green Deck's passive.

Getting early ante madness is a game winning for me lmao, just get yourself a good scalling eternal +mult and you're good to go

you don't need a joker on ante one you can pretty consistently beat ante one without any jokers or other score boosters so if the options are really bad i'd pocket your money ante 2 is were you'd need to pick up anything that boosts your score

I don't like how they nerf Madness. It's only situationally good to begin with.

I like that there's a brief section where you can keep jokers for the boss blind, I think that's cool, but overall it's a nerf yeah

i think the dev intended it to be a buff so you can skip the small and big blind to keep a buffed up madness without killing off valuable jokers

It’s not a nerf. The new version ensures that you don’t randomly lose your centerpiece before going boss.

@@ywl2587 But the concept of Madness is to use it along with other eternal joker or use it alone. You straight up losing x4 mult on the last boss if you get Madness on ante 1.
