I rarely make commentary at KZfaq but this particular video was so helpful that I felt I really should. Spa Guy described exactly what the problem was with my hot tub and using this video I was able to make the repair (in the dead of winter) with no difficulty. Spa tub guy, I love your videos, very informative. I found a bad solder on my heater relay, and fixed that. I reinstalled the board and the connectors, powered up and in the pre mode the blower light started blinking and relay started clicking, the heater turned on but the pump never ran so after a minute or two I got an over temp reading. What is the potential issue?

I have a Balboa Freeflow spa, was working great. running on 120, pump works great panel works and lights work, the heat light on the panel does not come on and heat does not work. has 53335 board

I just moved into new house with a Master Spa Legend LS700, 3 pumps, pretty hands on didn't know anything about hot tubs. with your help now I do.Her's my question tub had been leaking all summer. I figured, out was pump #2 seal, had pumped repaired and reinstalled it. Working fine, no leaks.Then 2 days ago power just goes out. I have power to the board Balboa MAS525 but, nothing to control panel.Noticed a little corrosion around the electrode on the heater, disconnected, still nothing. As best I could I wiggled board no change. Any suggestions from here?

ive got a sweetwater aruba that i bought used for next to nothing. the control module went bad in it apparently at one point and the company had sent a replacement that was never hooked up and was still wrapped in plastic. I hooked this thing up about two weeks ago and it was working fine, then tonight i went out and the topside control panel was not functioning. checked power to the control module and it has power to everything, but the topside control will not work. it's an older model that has a lot of obsolete parts, is there any way to confirm that the topside control is bad before i drop $200 on a new one?

Would that make a breaker trip? I think I might have the same issue on my swim spa and my breaker every now and then is tripped. Usually I would just reset my breaker and my pumps would come back but now it’s not doing anything. I get nothing from the pumps.

Hey Spa guy! You mentioned requesting to see a certain hot tub! Im in Edmonton/Canada, and I have the Softub spirit 4 it’s a cubed shaped model sold at Costco in 2014, and I have 2 of them, 1 for parts! And the good tub, everything works but the topside temperature control, I can’t get it going and this tub model is no longer made/sold, nor most parts, other than buying a whole new motor pack, but the circuits/motor on this model is actually housed in the side of Softub, not a separate motor pack, but is similar to newer Softub models! I think I’m able to make my own controller with a Chinese cheap high/low temp controller!? How do set it up on a 110volt? Thanks, great vids, I just subbed you!👍

Great video I have a question I have a Cal spa 5000 replace the PCB now when I turn on my breaker it tries to turn on my pumps clicks off and I get a code on the panel of 20 11 01 But if I unplug the pump that is on the right I don’t get the code So I swapped the pumps thinking it was a pump issue but same thing happens

Hey Spa guy-Your videos are very informative. I have a problem where I replaced a Balboa control board model X 801050 in a Master Spas legend series model LS750. One of the heater connections, the bottom left heater terminal is getting real hot and glowing from the heat. I shut it down and am now trying to find out why this is happening--can you help? I have a VITA spa with (2) Waterway Pf-30-2N22W Pumps, actually the other is a PF-40 which I assume is Horse Power? My problem seems to be, neither pump will engage/turn on? They're getting power, yet I can't seem to get anything out of them? The panel is switching the APPROPRIATELY, but still nothing? (Could it be possible) for both to have gone out at once, of is it something more simplistically sinister? ~Inertia

I was wondering if you could help me repair my hot tub mother board or give me advice. I already replaced the heater sensors and that is not the issue and the heater works but it does not stop at the set temperature, it keeps heating until it reaches 110 degrees where the emergency overheat relay shuts the heater down but it then gives me an error message and I have to hit any of the buttons on the readout to reset. It is the relay that opens up when it reaches the temperature and breaks the circuit. They don't make my motherboard anymore so I am left trying to fix it. Any ideas on how to trace the relay that is not working? Everything else is ok except for the lights which stopped working after I messed around last fall so I think I may have a loose connection with them as they worked fine before I started trying to find the source of the heater issues. I had my spa guy come and try to fix some issues that he left the previous year. After charging me 300.00 he was leaving and i asked him if he was going to start it up. He messed sround a bit more, came to the door and told me the circut board was no good. Another 250. He told me i could find it online and he would come install it for 250 again. Can you help me find it please. Its a balboa circut board 460R2C the other number is 20071091 don't know what thats for. Or how can We fix it without replacing the whole circut board

I have a problem with my "Birch Bay ( BR-2) hottub. Was running fine until the topside controller got water damaged and the buttons would nt work well ( it was stuck in the low twmp range and wouldne heat above 99 deg.) I had it replaced with a Balboa controller, and ever since, I had the following problem: Everything appears to work fine, Except- it heats Extremely Slowly, like 1 degree every couple of hours.. I have no error code on the display. I also changed out the heating element ( it was tripping the breaker finally, and when I took it out, there was corrosion on the terminal). It still heats slow. Any ideas why? Is it my circut board, or maybe something else? Obviously its getting power to the heater, just heats slow?

Excellent write up on this issue, I have the same MAS560 board and have power to my board but nothing else is powering up. I looked at the fuse and pulled on the board as you have. Is my only next option to remove the board to see if its a cold solder? If that looks OK, board gone? Odd because it is a newer board.

I have power to the board, but only intermittent power to the topside control panel. I had a repair guy come out, and he tested fuses, connected and disconnected wires, and eventually it stopped working altogether. His suggestion was to replace the spa pak. That is not in my budget. However, your video makes me think there was/is something loose or not soldered correctly, because of the intermittent on/off. Is there a way for me to confirm that? I could try moving the board around to see if it's loose as you did. Anything else I can check to see if that is the problem?

How do you test to see if the transformer is any good?

I've hooked a d1 tub up with only 3 wire (L1 , L2, ground). Will the tub still work with out a neutral for testing purposes. My topside only has 2.5 v to it. I have 240 to the tub. Please help lol

So I have a Dr wellness spa with the balboa vs500z circuit board. 240 v last week we went to get into tub and no power. Checked fuses all good, power going into unit so breakers good, troubleshoot the control panel by unplugging to see if pumps came on..nothing. replaced circuit board tried again nothing. Unplugged topside still no power.. just bought topside.. what else could it be?? I'm days away from ordering a new hot tub..irritated 🔥

I have this circuit board I unplugged the 2 sensors on the M7 heater, I am not sure where to plug them back in. I have the diagram but there is too much on it and I can't read it. Thanks for any help!!

I installed new board and new control panel, all was well for months. Now the control panel is off/blank. Electrician came, circuit board getting power. So even tho the circuit board is only 7/8 months old, would this more than likely be the issue? No repairman in my area, any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Spa Guy, I just installed a new XP2E motor/pump in my spa. On startup it gives me a message (Dr- inadequate water, poor flow, or air bubbles in heater). The tub is full, and I bled the air from the system, but when I press the jet button, I hear a relay click, and it reverts back to the "Dr" message. Any ideas?. Rick from California

I have a MS1600R1A (2012 edition) both pumps failed at the same time, throwing HFL code. No pump activity at all. Your cold solder repair here looks like a possible fix. Any thoughts greatly appreciated; our local dealer closed three years ago and DIY is only option.
