I have been following for 4 years now, watched your videos from the beginning of observing which trees to cut for the fabulous log cabin/house, I literally love every little small detail you and your family has put in it, now it's almost finished and I'm going to miss watching you work on it, but I'm sure you will come up with something amazingly beautiful to share with us. Who agrees with me?

@@kingrafa3938Your English needs a bit more practice but that’s alright😅 But i hope you’re right about that government guy. I’ve actually asked about before if it’s allowed cutting so much trees there but didn’t get a reply. In the Netherlands you can’t go around chopping trees at all, and it’s a government affiliated company which does the job if necessary. But we’re a much smaller country than where this story is taking place. I still don’t know where that is actually, close to Italy I guess. To the builder, I like almost everything detail you’ve put in to your fantastic build. like this surprising glass floor suddenly which you don’t expect in a log cabin. I only would have skinned the upper balcony branches railing as well like the ones downstairs. Even when I know that must be a hell of a job I would have done it, so it can turn naturally gray like everything else. It looks a bit like a dirty spiderweb now as far as I am concerned. But that’s I bit of a personal choice. Keep up the fantastic work men!

Nik, I am a 78 yr. old woman and am in awe if your skills, creativity and passion for what you do. The artistry is just mind boggling. I remember, as a child, sitting on the floor of my father' shop with a block of wood some nails and a hammer watching him turning a beautiful piece of wood into a gorgeous chair leg or spindles for hair backs. He was a master carpenter who could build anything out of wood. He taught me the beauty he saw in the different wood grains, and to this day I can still remember his smell, like freshly cut wood. I hope that your children will always enjoy their memories they will have of watching you build the magnificent things you build, and enjoy the stunning artistry of it all. Your wife is also very talented at all that she does. I love how you share the wonderful times you two have in the snow and how in tune with nature you all are. God bless you and family and when you are done with your cabin I can hardly see what comes next. Much love from Virginia, USA.

You always take time to capture natures awesome beauty and share it with us through your eyes. You show the strength of the wind in the clouds as they gently race over the hills and mountains. They move to the tune of hidden music that only stillness can hear. And as you sit quietly upon that summit I realize you are listening to that very music. Indeed you are a special person. Simply beautiful, Nik. The glass took your design to another level, literally.😂👍 I am baffled by what you have in store for that stump you hollowed out from the side. Perhaps you can use my idea. Why not do the same from the top then add your finessing with the grinder and a little sanding then to finish off, glass added on top of it. Could that be the beginning of a porch table? Surely it can't have anything to do with the inside of the house, can it? 🤔 Your home looks better every time I see it. All that beautiful wood the textures, the feeling it generates. There is so much nature inside as there is outside. Just like the church bells in the distance, they were a nice addition to the video. Hearing them took me back to the times when my wife and I lived in Italy and Sicily many years ago. Shortish story coming up. I was on holiday with my parents in a town called Siena, Italy in 1980. Aged just 18, I fell instantly head over heals in love with who I thought was a local girl. I spoke no Italian, and she spoke no English, and yet, we both knew there was a connection. We knew each others names and a few odd words only. We gazed into each others eys all day long not knowing what thoughts were in her head. In short, we spoke the language of love. No sex, no touching, apart from kissing, lots of kissing, holding hands and cuddling, lots of cuddling. Just honest, simple, innocent love. Those were the best three weeks of my life. We exchanged addresses, and then I left for England. 😢 We wrote to each other once a month at first. My Italian like my handwriting was poor but her English was good and her handwriting was beautiful. I got myself a good translation dictionary and a good thesaurus. I was told having the two would better help me and impress more. It gave so many different meanings for a word, a sentence, something my Italian dictionary in school never had. Until that day I had never heard of a thesaurus dictionary. We learned so much about each other, and our letters got longer and more in depth. That is when I found out she was not Italian but Sicilian. 😮 To me, it meant nothing but to a Sicilian, it means everything! For those who do not know, Sicilians do not like to be called Italian. 🤬 They are Sicilians. An island which is separate from Italy, who just happen to speak Italian, but they do have a language of their own. She told me about her family tree and it's connection with the 'Cosa Nostra' the mafia, 😬 which worried me. 🙏 All I could think about were shotgun weddings and being killed by stray machine gun bullets. This was thanks to the Godfather 1 and 2 mafia films I watched about the families feud with one another. Then I learned the connection went back more than 400 years before there was ever a mafia. She said I had nothing to worry about. If her father accepted me, which he would, then I was in. In what, I thought in a secret society? In truth, I was paranoid. The connection was blood, from weddings, not because of gang membership. Okay, I got that but still... The only gun her father owned was a shot gun used to kill animals for food and an old army rifel that belonged to his father which had no bullets. No machine guns and definitely no dynamite!💥 No arguments, no fued with any families. Suffice to say our relationship grew stronger and our letter writing grew more frequent until we were writing every day. Then one day she wrote saying her family were moving back home to Sicily but first, they would visit England for a short holiday, London to be precise, which is where I am from. Brilliant! 😁 Hallelujah, we started thinking up crazy ways of how to meet up. How difficult could it be, after all, the woman of my dreams was 21 years old, 5 months older than me. We were not children any more. She could go off on her own, right? Her parents would allow her to go explore London, to see things that young people like to see and not hang with your parents all day and night? What neither of us knew at that time was that her parents knew all about us, our feeling for each other. They knew we had been communicating every week then every day for a year since 1980. They knew everything I told their daughter because they had read every letter I sent her. They had also read her diaries and journals. They had a good idea in their mind about me and what they hoped I was like from letters I wrote. They knew intimate personal things I told Nicola or Nikki as I called her and what she thought of me. Their prayers were answered when they met me and when they found out everything I had told Nikki was true. If only we had known this in the beginning. 🥰 So, we arranged to meet up in Trafalgar Square at 3 pm only she was late. 🙄 A woman's perogative you would say, but no, not in this case. She arrived 20 minutes late with her parents on either side of her with linked arms. OMG, I am so dead. 🪦 Wrong, they wanted to believe every word that was written by me was true. So, from the moment they made plans to visit England, to when they got on the plane flying to London they talked. They talked about me, my intentions, and if their daughter truly believed I loved her and that I was the one for her. They were still discussing me in the hotel, which is why they were late that day. We spent the day together, mum, dad, Nikki and me, and the following day, then the next we visited my family, who put everyone up for the next two nights. I felt as though I was being vetted, and I was. We then spent every day together for two weeks, and then Nikki and her parents left, but not alone. I went with them to their home in Sicily with my mum. 🤗 Dad had to stay at home because he could not fly. He could not get permission from his doctor because of his illness. So, mum was his eyes and ears taking lots of photos and videos on their old movie tone 8mm camera. I spent a month getting to know the whole family and mum was living a dream. It was like meeting the whole island there was that many of them. Nikki had such a large family, 128 large not including children and grandchildren. The only person I did not seem to get along with at first was 'Mio fidanzato', my fiancées grandfather, on her mothers side. He hated us British because of how his family were treated during WWII. But that's a story best left in the past. They day came when mum and I had to fly home. It was a very emotional day, as you can imagine with lots or crying tears and cuddling. Nikkies parents had quite taken to Frances, my mum and she to them. Mum told me on the flight home that she never wanted to leave and cried all the way home.😭 Years pass and we got married in a beautiful 16th centry Sicilian church decorated with paintings, statues, and gold. Sadly, both my parents had to stay at home. Dad for the same reason as before and mum had a water infection, ladies problems, as she called them but we made sure there were plenty of photos and films for them to see. Nikkies father was into home cinema. He was always making films 🎥 so he made some films for my mum and dad to watch at home on a movie projector he gave them as a wedding gift. 📽 A film of the entire wedding, the party and some others about Sicily and Sicilian life. It's something Nikkies parents wanted to do. 🎁 📽 The ceremony took ages, but I didn't care. My wife looked gorgeous, the most beautiful woman in Sicily. Following our four week honeymoon in Venice, then Lake Como, Capri, Portofino, and Catania, we returned to her home to say our goodbyes. Two days later we left for London to live with my parents for a few years to save up our money. Nikki got a job in advertising, which in London at the time was very well paid. I helped with the family business. 18 months later we were living in Tuscany, Italy from 1985 to 1991, then we moved to Palermo Sicily, from 1991 to 1999, which was probably the best 8 years of my life. I saw every part of that island, above and below and the people, those people were so lovely, friendly and kind. We also lived with her parents for a while from 2000 to 2003 until I had to return home to see my parents.😔 My father was very sick with not long to live. He passed a few days later which is when mum asked us to move in with her permanently. She said the house would be ours anyway so now was a good time. Mum died 2 months later of natural causes. We think of a broken heart if truth be known. Mum and dad were childhood sweethearts. They were married for 64 years.👏👏👏 We continue to live in England, but my heart was and still is in Sicily. What wonderful years we spent there. I want to retire there, I will retire there sooner rather than later. Arrivederci! That means, 'Goodbye, see you soon'. Alla prossima Sicily. That means, 'Until next time Sicily' 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚒️

I am enjoying your videos just like in the old days, I am so glad you are back to posing regularly, you have made my day! Here is the US we are starting our big annual Memorial Day Weekend and I can't think of a better way to get in a festive mood than to watch your beautiful video today!

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Absolutely unbelievably amazing. I was thinking you needed to view the porch through the balcony. I envisioned a round port hole or two. You did so much better. 👍👍👍
