When you start pushing the limits on the intake system it might be a good idea to install some pressure taps so you can check the pressure drop across the components. Ex: pressure tap on the upstream side of the intercooler, and another on the downstream side. Install a differential pressure gauge across the taps which will tell you if there's a restriction. Case in point- if you're reading a higher pressure on the upstream side than the down stream then the part in the middle is a restriction to flow. If your differential pressure is zero (pressure same on upstream as downstream) then no restriction.

bypass the intercooler, plug right into the manifold, and use the methanol to cool the charge. If that fixes it, then you know it is an intercooler issue

Loved the smell game. I gotta say, it is amazing to see what little thing can rob a bunch of power. I've tuned carbs and played with cars under 500 hp but never really chased it down like you guys are on the dyno. It's a real eye opener!

I saw an older episode of Engine Masters where they tried a few different types of air filters to see which ones were more restrictive, and they found that most filters hogged about 10-20 horsepower or so. The more direct the airflow into the engine, the more power they picked up. Not as surprising as the episode where they measured the power loss of a mechanical fan. The worst fan they tried robbed close to 40 horse if I'm not mistaken. It's amazing what little things can do to improve or hinder a motor. When Jeremy talks about taking advantage of "low hanging fruit" mods, it's little things that add up to big power. Not surprised at the 20 hp loss on the Vette.

I have seen that exact problem with a big motor procharger corvette. Had an F1 but i tapped a boost gauge into the inlet and outlet of the A2A and there was a 10psi difference. Installed a larger A2A and made a huge difference. Dropped the differential down to 2psi and no more problems with the tune up. Hope it fixes your ride also

Before they turn it up he wants to leave right on the boost he already has instead of turning it up and definitely not being able to leave because if you remember leroy was never a car that spun crazy off the line before then he put the new engine and clutch in it and has been doing nothing but spinning if he turns it up a tiny bit just trying to get it dialed in i honestly think its as fast as it will be for a while

I had a similar problem after I swapped cams on my car, but with the wastegate. The original setup was just the bottom port plumbed, that worked fine with stock cams, after the upgrade I could only ever get about 14psi out of it no matter what I did to the boost controller (normally run 30-35). After a bunch of messing around, finally realized that I had removed so much restriction that the exhaust was just blowing it open, so I had to replumb the top port into the controller and it has been fine ever since. Going up springs isnt an option because I have an old Tial and it only takes one spring, biggest of which is an 11psi spring.
