Dude, you're so right, social networks are creating more and more complexes around baldness in people who have virtually nothing. It's tiring this superficial aspect, if you don't have a straight braided hairline you've got baldness, like what these really absurd I'm sure that our parents and our grandparents were much less obsessed with superficial details.

I find myself revisiting your channel over and over. Like every 4 weeks or so when having an emotional insecure meltdown. My lack of confidence in braving the shave once more through fear of not suiting the look. Cap on with a bald patch, cap on when I shave. Can't bloody win. Despite all this, your words of encouraging wisdom and experience always helps. Just want to say It's greatly appreciated. I'll get there eventually.🤞

What I find interesting is back when I still had a full head of hair, the thought of the possibility of losing my hair wasn't even something I had in mind. Like I literally didn't even think this was a thing for me. Losing your wasn't something that I even picked up as an existing condition. And now it's such a prevalent "phenomenon" that young guys with full hair freak about about their hair falling out even though nothing is happening. It's crazy.

I remember my barber saying "it's getting less" like some kind of little side comment but I genuinely didn't even think anything of it. Had no idea what it meant back then. Maybe 1-2 years later I notices my temples receding. This is where I realized what's actually happening. It was not a good day.

You are right about social media trying to make people feel and look the same. I had my hair loss. Seems like I woke up my hair being gone. So I guess I was different because I didn’t stress out my hair being gone. Started shaving my head using a number three blade then went full shave.

Nowadays if you wanted to fight for your hair you can keep it by using Oral fin, oral dut and topical minox. Plus you have the option of hair transplants that are very successful . If a man wanted his hair bad enough he can keep it nowadays . Some people are fine with letting it go and been bald for sure but others are definitely not including myself, I would look god awful bald due to my skull shape it would automatically make me look ugly! Balding takes a huge hit on the looks and confedence in most men and it is particularly bad for young men in their teens and 20s as it takes a hit on their dating life, sorry but it's true . The bald cafe man is lucky in the respects that he can pull off the bald look by having the right skull shape and facial features and his ears don't stick out. But unfortunately most men don't have the skull and features for the bald head and that's the harsh truth.

I'm personally really glad that I wasn't using Reddit at all when I first started losing my hair. I could just imagine the hours I would have wasted posting pictures of my hairline and desperately seeking approval or reassurance that I was going to be ok. We've definitely made a lot of progress in terms of normalizing balding over the last few decades, but I feel like the modern social media age has caused us to take a few steps backwards. There are so many ads for new hair-loss products or medications, and so many viral videos of people transforming themselves with hair transplants, hair fibers, combovers, etc. I know none of this is particularly new, but I can't help but feel like some of the old stigma has started to resurge a bit. EDIT: Not that I think anything is wrong with wanting to keep your hair, and I'm glad that there are options out there. I just mean that it feels like the general attitude towards hair loss has regressed a tiny bit.

I feel like it's all relevant, if you wanna catch it early and you want to go on medication it's good to monitor if your hairline changes if not who cares just don't worry about it. I personally noticed a bit of temple recession at 31, went on medication and at 34 i have my full hairline back but a friend of mine went the opposite way and shaved it early (before it was even too bad) and he's happy as well. The important thing is not to stress too much about it, there's more important things in life to worry about.

It's this concept that a man is supposed to look like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise with perfect hair. And every guy thinks then that hair loss is like the most horrible thing that can happen to them aka "now im a loser, a failure" etc. Social Media is not helping with this issue either, if anything they are making it worse for guys. It should be where its completely normal that you are bald, so what? its life, it happens.

I am going to order that Phillips 1. I just would like to be able to grow a beard. My mustache and chin come in nice and full, but my sides are not very dense. I am 66 now, but seeing these guys asking about balding in their 20's and you can recall the loss of sleep and all the things that you missed out on because of the control this thing had over me. I have the worst hair for a man. It is very fine and curly. I used tons of spray and if it was a very humid day, I wouldn't go out or wear a cap. A chance of rain? It was a cap or no go. I would not stand or sit under lights. I started believing all hair system and transplant commercials. Between my 30th and 61st birthday, I am probably being very conservative in this....I have probably spent $70,000 or more on systems and a HT. COVID allowed me to experiment with a buzz cut and last year I retired so I have a rebirth. Baldcafe really gave me the kick I needed to know that this stupid thing that I stressed over caused me to miss out on so much in life. And time is one thing that we can never get back. It also helps that many famous people are now doing the chrome dome look and rocking it so that also helped. And it is like 7 out of 10 men will either be balding or go bald. I just don't want to see a young guy have the same stresses that I went through.

17:40 No this is definitely a disaster. I'm 16 and sick of my thin hair. But if I get a buzz I will look like shit. And bald? Probably even worse. I will get burned and roasted by my school everyday until the day I graduate. Or until I get a decent beard (3-4 years at least).

Use topical minoxidil once a day at night. Wash your hair in the morning so you don't get greasy hair during the day (once a day is enough by the way). Keep going on with minoxidil until you are 18. When you are 18 get on finasteride immediately and keep going on with minoxidil as well. Use both at the same time from the day you are 18 and do that forever . If you ever need to : you can get a small hairtransplant to bring back what you already lost. You gonna be good to go and never have to worry about losing your hair ever again . Thanks me later :)

Love bro but no not for me. It’s about confidence right, how you feel about yourself, self esteem. Think of it this way. If having no hair means you have no confidence and the only way to feel confident in yourself is by taking medication daily for the rest of your life… what existence is that? Are you truly worth nothing without the hair? This is the narrative I had to get past in my own head. Losing the hair truly showed me I was and am worth so much more dude. And you are too.
