Recently I buzzed mine off. Best thing I've done. Like you I had plenty if not most people saying 'your fine, you've got plenty of time left'. This prolonged shaving it off until I realized I was only keeping my hair to please others. Many people like family and my girlfriend tried to convince me not to shave it until about 3 weeks ago when I went to my barbers, and for the last time I said, I hate my hair. Right there we took it to a 2. This although a positive step, highlighted my hair loss more, so a few days later I went to a 0. I had both positive and negative responses from others but most importantly for myself, I didn't have that worry which plagued me for the last 3 years. I'm not conscious of kneeling or sitting down and others seeing my thin hair. I'm not worried about getting a hair cut to cover my receding hair line. I'm bald and proud. I love what you do on this channel. I don't think anyone realizes what hair loss can do to a man and just how many people it affects until they go through it.

But the total shave highlights the hair loss as complete and total doesn't it? Not saying it's a bad thing to totally shave but why does a horseshoe makes people feel nervous or bad but a total skin shave doesn't. I for one think a horseshoe looks good if done right. Watch the first season of star trek the next generation to see how Patrick Stewarts horseshoe looked. It framed his face perfectly and looked pretty cool.

There’s so much power and strength in showing yourself vulnerable just like you did in this video. By showing your balding progress without hesitation you’re sending a massive message of confidence. All to say, it’s refreshing seeing a balding guy who keeps some hair (whatever’s left) on his head and rocking the look like you do!! It looks so regal and masculine at the same time 🙌🏼. Sometimes it feels like society urges balding guys to take the plunge and shave it…it shouldn’t be like that.

I shaved mine off 2 weeks ago after years of constantly wearing a beanie and having long hair to hide it. Took it straight down to a 0. I know this channel is usually about loving the whole shaving thing. But honestly, I HATED it. I have a pretty big scar from cracking my skull as an infant. I had no clue how massive it was until now. Currently I'm rocking the stubble. I'm somewhere in the norwood 3 range. Personally, I think I'm going the transplant route. Props and mad respect to all of you. Seriously. If I thought I could rock the bald look, I would. I gave it a shot and did not like it. And that's fine with me too. Im glad I did it. It let me see a side of me I had never seen before and was/am terrified of. It has definitely been an experience. A massive change. I would still be the 31 year old wearing a beanie if it wasn't for this channel. It has definitely helped me a lot through the past few months. Seeing that it isn't just me. Who knows. Maybe in a few more weeks I will accept it better. Idk. Some days I don't mind that much and others it freaks me the heck out. Regardless, you're doing an amazing thing on this channel. This all needs to be spoken about more often in the world. It's a struggle to peoples confidence, which is a huge issue. Whether you rock the bald, hold on to what you have, or get a transplant, at the end of the day, you need to do what makes you feel confident. Best of luck out there everyone!
@NiMo5048
@NiMo5048 Ай бұрын
The transplant won't solve anything. There is no transplant that will give you enough density. You will still have to take medicine for life. You will continue to constantly think about your hair every day. We must demand a real solution.

Yeah it's great when people love the results and I'd totally get the relief of it. I buzzed mine early on with hair loss. And hated it. Head shape, the look didn't work on me at all. I lost confidence. That was a long, long time ago. I don't know if it was worth the stress of it all growing back, styling, worrying, treatments etc. But I did have quite a few years of decent enough hair. Now it's a bit worse and wondering what to do next. Some days I think buzz it off and move on, but still remember how much I hated that look on me.

My story is very similar. Also lost it quite fast and also in the same diffuse pattern. Very little hairline recession and the hair held itself there for the longest. I first shaved my head when I was around 17. Very young but my dad is as bald as it gets and I kind of knew that hair loss was inevitable. So as soon as I've first spotted that my hair density going down and hairline receding, I went all in. I realized that I didn't want to dwell on it and drawn in self pity so I thought let's do it and forget the anxiety. I'm 39 now and I'm kind of proud of 17 year old me for having enough courage to accept the cards I'm delt with and make one of the most important right decisions in my life.

fascinating the really bald patch behind your ear - if that was stress induced you were totally right to stop worrying and go for the shaved look. That sort of balding is not treatable with finasteride! I have had 3 transplants and daily oral minoxidil and finasteride tablets, and scalp micropigmentation treatment on the FUE scars as well. It's a LOT of effort to get the hair looking like I don't have male patterned baldness, and not for everyone. If I was as handsome as you I probably would have shaved it all!

The progression rate of MPB varies from one to another person. I started to notice my MPB progression in 2004-2006. I am now 43, and buzzcut still gives me good impression of having decent scalp short hair (with slightly receding temple hair line). My dad started his balding process in 2008-2010, and he is now almost completely bald. While one of my cousins took only 4-5 years to go completely bald.

@@Baldcafe I appreciate you embracing the balding look and helping to normalize it. People tend to settle on the extremes (going fully shaved VS hair treatments) but it's ok to be in the middle without stressing about it. I just buzz my hair 2-3 times a month and it's fine with me. I don't have the energy or will to razor shave every few days

You are the perfect profile for a hair transplant. Your hair loss should be stable. For 2000$ in Turkey, you will probably obtain a good result, but you should do some research to find a good clinic. Otherwise, you’re good like that, especially with the full beard. I have just a question ; Your hair from the top used to be so oily, to the point that you had to take shower every day or every couple of hours ?

I think hair loss is cause for concern. I started having aggressive hair loss in 2008. I still have a good head of it though. I used caffeine shampoo, a laser light helmet which I still use. I think it's calcification and indicates an obstructed body. Anyway your confidence is inspiring but I implore you to consider that losing hair is a sign that the body is crying out for help.

I shaved my head about 3 months ago. I'll remember the date March 10th 2024 for the rest of my life. I was dealing with male pattern baldness since I was 16 years old. I rocked the long mop for most of high school, but once uni came around I started getting high skin fades with a long fringe on top. For me most of my receding was on the temples, so I was always able to cover it up with a combover. But I always grew up feeling awful about it. I kept my long fringe for pretty much my entire time in uni, and for a while until I graduated. This year though, I decided to get a buzz cut just to try a different haircut and boy that made me realize how bad my balding was. It was after my buzzcut that I realized that I had a bald spot on my crown, and I was generally super thin up there. I rocked the buzzcut for a while, but my hair started looking weird cuz the sides grew super thick, but the top was super thin and weak. Then on that one night in March, I decided to just shave it off and be done with it. I can't say that I regret it cuz it was one of the most liberating feelings I've ever felt. Few months down the line and shaving my head is basically like brushing my teeth to me, cuz its been incorporated into my daily routine. I used to buzz it down to 0 with my trimmer, but after a few weeks I purchased a Pitbull Skull Shaver Gold Pro on Amazon to get a nice close shave every morning. I'm thinking of getting a razor to start wet shaving in the shower, but I'll hold off on that for now cuz my skin is super sensitive to razor bumps. I work in B2B sales, I meet my clients and a lot of people during the day. When I first shaved my head, I was worried people were gonna react negatively. But to my surprise, people treated me the same with or without hair. For me that really reinforced confidence in myself to rock the bald and embrace my appearance. My family, my friends and my colleagues have all given me good responses on my new appearance. I'm growing my beard out these days, and a lot of people tell me that my head shape really suits that look. And in terms of dating, I've honestly seen no difference in the way women treat me with or without hair. You kinda build it up in your head that people are gonna act weird around you when you go bald, but no one really cares about your hair more than you do. Not even close. Overall fellas, if you're dealing with male pattern baldness, you're not alone. Whether you're in your early 20's like me, or in your late 50's, it sucks for all of us. The important thing is to hang in there, and know that things get better down the line. Rock the bald, and wear it with confidence. You got this💪

That crown went downhill very fast.

It is thinning more now at the crown , but not as bad yet as to shave it off fully, I think I’ve got 3 years left before I shave it all off. Like when people say your not even losing it to me, I 100 per cent know I am, I know my own hair

Excessive masturbation, bad diet (seed oils, lack of good fats/nutrients) and a lot more lead to hormonal imbalance, that drives hair loss. A lot of men with hair loss have too much DHT in relation to testosterone and other sex hormones You should have a high T:DHT ratio and sufficient estrogens/progesterone to protect your hair

I've buzzed mine off, initially thinking, damn, I'm looking great. Then I'm started seeing a different angle in front of a different lingning, and I'm like damn, the shadoff is visible, and this really stressed me out. I didn't know what to do. Keep it zero guard, slightly short or grow it back? I could have just kept long hair, with thinning on the top, and it would have been much less effort because to maintain a cool looking buzzcut, you got to trim it like every 3 days, which was just too much work for me and taking pictures of myself seeing how I look. So from now on, I'm embracing my thining balding spot, and just keeping it longer, like guard NO 2, and the sides number 1. Lastly, I grew a beard, because it just looks really strange with me having a young face, and a balding head, so to look more appropriate for my balding head appearance, a small beard is a must. Lastly, I really found it helpful when I saw a video with Harry having an interview with his father, who advised to experiment until you find a comfortable look. So thank you for that.

I wonder if back in 2016 and 17 if meds would have halted it. You had a pretty good head of hair back in those days. As for looking older than 7 years ago with both shave heads look. Yeah you look little bit older but we all do after 7 years. The skin loses collagen as we age and we lose that fresh look over time. You don't look a lot older but more mature . Less baby fat in the face which means less collagen. But about the same.
