Hello and welcome to Lord Fenton Gaming plays Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition. I am your host Lord Fenton. In this Don't Panic series, the game I am going to touch up is Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition. The Baldur's Gate 2 is my all time favorite and I am proud to give everyone a new player guide on this wonderful game. In Baldur's Gate 2 you start off being kidnapped in a prison. Your wondering I am in a prison and the dude who sounds like Evil from Time Bandit torturing me what do I do? Do not panic, my Baldur's Gate 2 New Player Guide will help. I will go over somewhat briefly the class system, touch up on THAC0 and what it is, look for out romances, Strongholds for classes and why the Shaman Class cannot get one and more. Trying this game again for the third time haha. There's spells in this game that I didn't know how to counter. There were some that caused my own party members to get confused and/or attack my own party. What would I need to get rid of that status effect?

Here how to get rid of confusion effect on your party members. The first way is dispel magic. It will dispel that and your buffs. The other way is Greater Restoration and Scroll of Protection from Magic. Now to protect yourself from this effect is the following: Scroll of Protection from magic, Chaotic Commands, If you have it Berserker rage works too. Barbarian Rage too gets rid of it. Spell Immunity works to protect you against this too. Potion of Clarity and Potion of Magic Blocking too. I hope this helps.

Debating upon divinity original sin 2 or baldurs gate 2 for my newly acquired nintendo switch, never quite got into baldurs gate 2, but baldurs gate 2 looks Very interesting, kinda silly how some games age like wine

I am going to say both are great games. I do prefer BG 2 over Divinity Original Sin 2 however either way you'll get what you pay for.

This is what I got from the Beamdog forum for the Android phone version. Go into options. Than go for Scale UI and Font Size to adjust what you need to do. This version I did is the PC one.

im trying the story mode and nice thing is cant die LOL all is cleared far as i can tell anyways cant find key to let out i assume a party member...ran into a golem thinks im its master says something about a table cant find this table what can i do with this golem is it a party member too or whats the deal? no idea how to do spells (playing as a mage that can summon stuff and also thief full on evil ) no idea how to really play just been wandering around heh i got 3 party members and one as i said one cadged and cant find key to release

The next room with the golem won't really harm even if you loot the entire room. There is an table where you get the key. Use that key to free the party member in the prison. Make sure you loot the room's contents since it has some decent starter loot.

Hello I Downloaded the gog version and my AI looks totally different. Also it wouldn't let me pick difficulty and I don't have those health bars over the characters heads. What's wrong w my game?

Ok first the AI button is at the lower right that is the lantern to turn it on. I'd advise turning off the AI so your in control. As for the difficulty it's in the options menu than select gameplay. From that point slide the bar to what difficult you want. As for the hp and health bar go to the options menu than graphics. In the graphics menu click show character hp and show health bar. I hope that helps.

You forgot to mention that Strength determines To-Hit chance with melee weapons and Dex gives bonus to hitting with ranged weapons. This is the most basic of basic stuff that everyone needs to know. You should prioritize this kind of important info and skip telling about Alignment or Speciality Mage Classes.

Bro im starting with bg2 skipping the bg1 that havung lot of important tutorial and im die at least 5 time in my campaign before finding this

You can skip BG 1 however you'll lose out in a few levels. Just have to be more careful starting out. Now if you go through BG 1 you get a nice level advantage. With the Siege of Dragonspear you get another level advantage as well. Just take your time for the tutorial dungeon and than go slowly through the game without really starting the story once your out of that dungeon.

The video I did is the PC version. Try hitting the A button when you hover an item to give to your party member. See if it either grabs the item to drag to the other party members inventory or gives you the option to give the item to the party member.

No worries at all. It is good to control how your party is set up in many RPG games. First timers people should experience the NPCs party members. If they really love the game than go for the solo multiplayer method of custom party.

Yes it is on the PS4. It is bundled with the 1st and 2nd game together. Looking at it in the PS5 short with the PS4 icon on it. Controls will the only difference from the PC version.

This is great video but still it's not for people who never ever played real life D&D, I'm playing this game on my Android and I don't understand a single thing, like how to learn skills or how that dice combat thing works, even the menu are confusing to me

Skills you get by leveling up and they are weapon skills for most part. Rogues classes gets points to put into their skills during leveling up. Those are permanent. Spells are scribed unless your one of those classes you have to pick spells than those spells are selected during level up. Dice rolls for combat is by weapons when you inspect them. For example a long sword is 1d8. That is 1 to 8 damage. Add 1 per point of magical weapon (IE 1d8+2 for a +2 longsword). Spells are if you inspect them are dice rolls. A fireball for instance is 1d6 damage per caster's level for a max of 10d6. So a basic fireball is 1-6 damage with resistance applying of course. Saving throws spells take half. You can if you want to. You characters start out at level 7 to 8. Playing BG 1 gets some of the full story. The game will update you on the events of one. So go for it you want to.

Im new to this game, should have bought the first one since its the continuous of the story unlike any games that had seperate protagonist in their sequels. But anyway, would you mind to recommend me a character race,ability and classes. Im really struggel to choose one since theres just too many of them.

Sure. Now there are plenty of good ones. Paladin your stuck with human and Lawful good yet it's a great setup. Even better is the inquisitor if you don't mind losing priest spells yet gain dispell magic and true seeing. The Cavalier you lose range attacks yet you get bonus against daemons and dragons plus that anti fear aura is nice. Paladin I say go for str, dex and con and sucks your stuck at 17 cha. Now fighters the base one is nice and for fun Kensai is great yet no armor but you do damage. Fighters duel wield is great and using 2hers is good. You can go sword and board but I'd say regular fighter. Fighter stats Str tops, Dex and Con. Race Human, Dwarf or Half-Orc. As for Cleric Any race is fine except Gnome. Helm is a good kit to do. The other alignment ones if you want good go for either while evil Talos is fun. As for base cleric it is fine too. As for stats I'd say Wisdom top to get highest. After Wisdom than Dex and Con. Wizards I am going to say any race is fine even Gnome since they are great illusionist. Sorcerers are fine too. Wizards in this game is OP as heck and I used an Kensai (Level 13) to Wizard on a human via Dual classing is great. More on Dual later on. As for stats Wizards focus on Int first making than Con and Dex. As for Sorcerers Cha since that stat is their caster bonus than Con and Dex. As for thieves they are great. I do feel Halfings and Elves are great thieves. As for skills it depends wanna disable traps and open locks focus on those. Wanna be stealthing machine focus on those. As for weapons daggers, short swords are good. As for stats for thieves Dex is top than Con and Str. For mutli and dual classing here is my advice. Good setup is Fighter/Thief, Fighter Mage, Thief/Mage, Cleric/Ranger, Fighter/Thief/Mage, and if your playing a gnome Thief/Mage(Illusionist). Dual classing is only for humans and they got restrictions you gotta have high stats when you start in both class stats. IE for example high str and int if your going for Fighter to start than swap to mage later. Remember Thieves, Mages and Clerics are strict on gear. So if your going say Thief/Mage you gotta wear nothing to be able to cast spells. As as wear only leather to use the thief's stuff like disarm traps and stealth. That is my advice and story for the very long post. This game has so much good in it and I try these setups over the years.

The monk class you have to build a certain way and level far to see it's real powers. Now the 3.0 dnd version monk oh my goodness build the right type and the way you go in power.

Not even close to top dps, horrible defenses, no helm meaning on harder difficulties you can get one tapped by crits Even if you level further its still worse than other classes. And I like the monk class but its just bad, in NWN I spammed it in so many builds in pvp but in baldurs gate its an RP tier class. Either you pick it to roleplay because you like monks or you just cripple yourself on purpose with the worst class in the game

Turn off the AI button. I believe it is on the bottom right. This way you make the party members do what you want to do not them.

Well the first game was in 1998 while the second in 2000. It uses an Real Time type of combat. Only way to stop it is pause. No worries about that, BG 3 comes out I'd imagine tons of people going to be playing that.

How do you get the "identify spell" to identify an item?

You can get it from scrolls you find randomly OR better yet when you get out of the tutorial dungeon there is a few magic shops that sells them. In Waukeen's Promenade there is the adventurer's mart that Lady Yuth will sell you scrolls so your wizard can memorize them or you can use them to identify items. Galoomp the Bookkeeper in that same area sells spells too. Try those. If you find those scrolls they are with the ? mark on it.

One of my favorite actors. He did also Tron as both Ed Dillinger and Sark. Sark said the best line in that movie. He did came back for Baldur's Gate Siege of Dragonspear. Sucks you cannot use that voice pack in Baldur's Gate 2 though.

They are used to cast certain spells. Great way to save a spell slot for some classes. IE for example Wand of Fireball. They do have charges so be careful on how many times you use before it breaks though.

She should be at the Docks near the Harper's Headquarters. That is where you get her. Now if you did her personal quest and dismiss her than she is gone for good until at least I think Throne of Bhaal where you can summon her.

@@MrKluska11 As a rule of thumb always have someone to dispel or remove his protections. Once that happens wreck him. Now if you have someone with poison you can poison him too after his protections are gone so his spell casting will interrupt. Sorry for the delay.

Dungeons and Dragons, well Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2.0 Ruleset. It was released in 2000 and got Enhanced with some goodies and now it is on the console. This game is great and fun to play. You should try it on PC, Mobile and yes I said before consoles. Well the series you should try.

This game did have multiplayer back in the day. Each player took control of their own character or so. The Enhanced edition I heard improved on some of it.

THAC0 means To Hit Armor Class 0. For example if a character with a THAC0 17 try to hit an foe with AC 1 than they need 16 to roll to hit them. So you want a lower THAC0 on your character so it is harder for them to hit you and you want an higher THAC0 on foes so it is easier for you to hit them. They did away with that in future editions due to the complex nature of it.

You gotta get used to it. They used to do combat like that when this game was made back in the day. It can be chaotic at times with save throws and other factors too.

For most classes yes except for a few things. Paladins are stuck with high charisma yet if your rep is great than you can save money in shops. The other part is that in the EE edition if you dual class to a Shadowdancer or Druid you will need high Charisma.
