Baldur's Gate 3 makes ZERO Sense....

Got a bit of an odd episode for you guys today. So I fully intended to make actual progress forward and head to Moonrise Towers (like I've been saying I will for 4 episodes now) only to have the game itself yell at me and tell me I'm underleveled for the next part of the game. Personally I felt like we were being pretty thorough so I'm not sure how that happened. But regardless, we're gonna have to do some sidequesting before continuing onward.

Hey man, enjoying the play through! Couple of things I keep hearing you get frustrated by so I wanted to offer up a couple helpful tips: 1. You can right click on an enemy and it will give you their specs (AC, HP, condition immunities, etc.) 2. The separate inventories are mostly arbitrary. Shadowheart can use a potion in Gale’s inventory, Gale can use a scroll from Astarion’s inventory, etc. You don’t have to move them around. Only a few spell scrolls don’t work this way (Basically any spell where you have to choose a subtype of damage). 3. You can toggle helmets/crowns by hovering over the image of the already equipped head-ware in inventory. (Aka, help Shadowheart look a little less ridiculous haha) 4. One handed weapons can be duel wielded (so for example Gale could also have a shield to increase his AC, and Astarion could have two swords instead of one. Increases your chance of at least one attack hitting, which you might like since you have such rotten luck haha.) 5. Long rests progress a lot of your companion’s stories, relationships and plot lines; if you progress too far too fast you just miss all that content, which is half of what makes the game great, so if you go in for that sort of thing then take a rest! Much easier than using up all your health potions (trust me, you’ll want those for Act 3!) so use up the short and long rests before reaching for a potion because after Act 1 they become harder to find, while camp supplies is everywhere, always. 6. You don’t have to do the Mountain Pass. There’s plenty of other things to do to level up, plus I’ve gone to Act 2 through the Underdark at level 5 and was fine. This is especially true since you are missing a companion that makes that Mountain Pass quest more interesting (Lae’zel). Hope this helps. Best of luck! Can’t wait for the next video!

You did exactly what I did my first play through, missed easily 50% of Act 1, then was massively under leveled. The game tells you to 'go go go' but in reality you really want to just wander around checking every nook, cranny, and crevasse. Go back to the goblin/druid area and check every area of your map that is black/unrevealed.

game never tells you to GOGOGOGO..theres just...the Story wants you to keep going but you can do whatever lol. I dont understand this comment.

@@zacharynyberg7007 Literally from the second you start the game in the nautoloid it tells you to go. You hit the beach, gotta remove the tadpole, go go go. You get to Halsin, he tells you get to moonrise towers. The guardian, the same. Every NPC, even the narrator tells you to go go go.

Not much else to add on top of what everyone else has said, but those little purple crystals all over the Underdark called Chasm Creepers can be used to make something in your Alchemy menu called Elixir of the Colossus, which makes you physically larger and gives you extra damage and some Strength and Constitution buffs, I think. As a barbarian, it would probably be quite useful for you :)

Well you skipped quite a large part of the first area. When in the goblin village (Blighted village waypoint) you can go another way where you also meet a companion and multiple other things. Maybe worth to go back for that xD Level 7 is only achievable if you also do the mountain pass part, but for the next area level 6 is more common. But definitely be level 5, that is a huge jump in power. For example barbarians can attack twice for 1 action, doubling your damage output. Also from the next area you can go back, the warning is primarily for another part you have skipped and resolving the conflict around the druid grove which you have done. If you go to the next area those decisions are locked in. Although I am not sure about the part you have skipped if that is actually locked in if you go to the next area. But definitely go back to the surface and from the blighted village you can explore south a bit and north is quite a lot you actually fully skipped on

Act 1 is very big and is everything before going to the area the game warns you about proceeding under leveled. It has a lot of side quest activities. The underdark and mountain pass can both be explored freely and are both viable ways of getting to moonrise. The game rewards exploration though the power spike of level 5 and keeping up with your gear should be enough to go forward with the main story if you like a challenge. Have fun, I know I am by watching your videos.

As other people have mentioned 5 is a very large spike in power, level 3 spells for casters and extra attack for martials, if you explore more in the underdark to finish the adamantine forge quest you should get some xp and good items, even if you don't want to do a completionist run I would recommend at least doing that.

This is basicly what my ADHD brain did first round as well. Hell missed like 50% of act 1 then i missed a bunch in act two and the majority in act 3 on my first playthrough. Really is just a game you wanna mess about all over the place in

Out of 3 scrolls in that bag only 1 is the scroll of misty step. So you just HAD TO get the worst possible luck there :D

Watch out for firebolt on shadowheart and astarion, they get it from their race so it scales with intelligence for both of them, youre a lot more likely to miss with it.
