it's like BG 1 & 2, I was 2 years old when my father and I played BG 1 for the first time and now I'm 23 years old and every time I hear the BG 1&2 themes I just get chills everywhere. I'm so happy that this theme will doing the same thing.

@@wolfgaard Dragon Age Origins is what got me into RPGs and I went back to the classics such as Baldur's Gate as well after playing that, too bad the Dragon Age Sequels were average at best.

Man I love when music like this makes your imagination run wild and you find yourself immersed in fantastic scenarios of battle and epicness. Sometimes I think about how you would explain this feeling to someone else but it's so intimate and powerful that I don't think it's really possible. I'm counting the days at this point. LET ME AT EM

It reminds me a lot of the Lineage 2 soundtrack by Bill Brown. And that is a good thing, since i consider Lineage 2 to have the best soundtrack of any game ever released.

@@lucidsEmerald232 Oh I don't doubt it. I prefer to wait because I want my first playthrough to be a Padlock (Hexblade Warlock crossed into a Paladin) and I'll have to wait for that. In addition I am currently doing my Masters degree on very little funding so I have neither the time nor the money to properly pursue my gaming hobby at the moment.

We still don't even have confirmation that Xanathar's content will be added. Even if it is, there's also the possibility that things get tweaked, as some spells and class features already have for Early Access. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Hexblade gets nerfed/tweaked. Not trying to crush your dreams here, but I also wouldn't set my hopes *too* high this early on.

I feel like Michael Hoenig (the original composer for BG1 and BG2) just... appeared out of nowhere, then disappeared from the face of the earth. I grew up pre-internet being the only person I knew who absolutely loved the Baldur's Gate series' OST more than any other game's, and I truly feared I'd never hear music that fit that vibe ever again. Hearing this brings a tear to my eye... the grandiose, wordless men's choir of BG1... the mystical, plucking harp for BG2... _THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING._ I couldn't be more overjoyed to hear this main theme.

I was just listening to the Conan the Barbarian score and I think Hoenig borrowed stylistically a LOT from that score. And it was a good call.

I love it when they do this with music. It's a different track but draws from another track giving you new goosebumps as well was old too... It's like how the Avengers theme tune evolved concluding with Portals, when you hear the iconic Avengers tune immediate goosebumps for me.

@@w.d.gaster3972from the few hours of bg1 I played, it's less today's standards and more your standards. Do not expect a bg3 from them, but they're still good. Personally I found it fun, but not a masterpiece. I understand how good it must have been at release, but there are much better crpgs now. Just because there have been better games since though, that doesn't mean it's bad. If you want something similar to bg3, definitely play divinity original sin 2, the developer's last game.

The fact is most of commenters below never heard for the game till it came out. You can notice days and weeks on their posts. I've seen the 1st trailer when it came out and looked up prequels, then seen beta gameplays year ago. I'm glad it made other developers jealous with proving their point of how games are supposed to be instead of getting extra money from cut contents aka called "DLC's" and MT.

What Borislav Slavov introduced in Divinity Original Sin II and long time ago in Gothic 3 is astonishing. I cannot wait enough to listen to his score for BG3. And even though I am slightly bit disappointed, that I don't hear so far many connections to original BG soundtrack, I am already falling in love with this. I hope he will also sing again. Whenever I hear Divine Lament... It's just great.

Very inconvenient during mid battles so I had to restart a few so best thing to do is save as often as you can (akin to DoS2) and Silvanus Grove is Frame dropping hell... but all of these things can be addressed with patches and such as the game continues to get better, other than that the game is remarkable

@@dylantortosa7678 Make sure to use DX11 not Vulkan. Vulkan is hell right now. I've had full playthroughs to lvl 5 wothout a single crash with DX11. Yes, more than one playthrough to lvl 5, I'm like you many many hours in. xD

Borislav Slavov is great. The soundtrack combines compositions from Divinity 2 and the first two parts of Baldur's Gate.

@@stephanemenerville549 and BG2's theme didn't sound like BG1's theme. Yet the overall compositions do bear many of the same musical ideas. This is especially clear in some of the battle themes. I feel like a large contributor to this soundtrack "feeling different" is simply because it is arranged for a larger orchestra and not compressed to hell to fit on a 2001 video game.

It's reaaally good. It's the kind of menu music you listen to in the main menu, doing nothing, just vibin'. The only other (masterpiece too) RPG in which i do this is Pathfinder : WoTR.

It’s not often you play a game and realise a few hours in that it’s gonna become special to you. I had it the first time I played Twilight Princess, WoW, Super Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Skyrim, Dark Souls, The Witcher 3, Red Dead 2 and Elden Ring. Now I have it with BG3. Sometimes if a game’s great enough you just know. I’m only scratching the surface but I already know it’s gonna be one of the greatest for me.
