So sorry to hear that! There is the possibility to play in split-screen if you know someone who has the game, I know that´s a bit different from owning it but it´s a fun way to experience it. There are ways to create Lan sessions over Hamachi, I am waiting for a friend to test this out and if I do I will do a tutorial on this.

Be aware it’s $69.99. Many people see it listed as 79.99, that’s the deluxe edition. Might need to move through the games store page but make sure you see the base price.

I’ve been trying to find a PS5 controller guide for this game everywhere online with no luck, since I got used to looking up tips and tricks for this game but they were all using the Mouse and Keyboard interface. So had no idea how to do certain actions once the ps5 version came out. Learned a lot from this video, awesome simple straightforward video! 👍

I just got BG3 and this is so useful! The 'jump' and 'crouch' buttons blew my mind, I've been going through radial menu for those and it was so annoying, I sure skipped potential secret paths cause I couldn't be bothered to jump. Or took the long way round instead. Thank you! You just streamlined my game so much

I did show of how to get onto the combat log in that one but not so in detail unfortunately, I was thinking about a few things I didn't get into so much jet to keep it bitesized but I might make a little part 3 and include a better look at the combat log aswel. I typically keep my volume down and I first started this video and couldn't hear and almost clicked away. Had to turn the volume all the way and it was still quite. Other vids I watch are nice and loud. Anyway, glad I did so otherwise I may have missed out on this good info. Thanks!

Absolutely wonderful and detailed video on using the game with a PS5 controller. Certainly eases my mind, thanks for that! Does the game recognise the controller's touchpad at this stage? That could be handy for the odd quick, mouse-like command. And of course the jury is still out on Dualsense haptics integration. But you certainly covered everything that can be at this stage. Thank you! That's a good point, it doesn't recognize it for PC unfortunately, also pushing it doesn't do anything. And I have been thinking about what it will do on ps5, maybe the map will be moved here to leave room for the screenshot and share button. It would be really nice if they made use of the the touchpad in some way. I am curious about the haptic feedback aswel.

Great video. How do you change the order of the party like you can on the PC where all you do is drag their icons up and down? I only see how to toggle group and ungroup, but i dont want my party walking in the wrong order.

Thank you! That is actually a really good question. And I never gave this much thought before I used the formation system alot in pathfinder:wotr. But you can do it by splitting the party first and you can group them in order also by pressing for example square on the party member on top and then square on the bottom party member this makes it so the bottom character is in the second place and grouped up to the first. And you can continue doing this until you have them in the desired order. I hope this helps I will put this in a video soon.

thank you! great tutorial. is there a button equivalent to "T" when you inspect an item? for example, when i'm checking a weapon in my inventory, i wanna see detail of the weapon's proficiency unlock, so i will press T, whick freezes the weapon's tooltip window, so i can move mouse over the proficiency icon the reveal the detail. i can't figure out how to do this on controller.

On console you acces this by pushing the touchpad, on pc with a ps5 controller it's the share button often times, not sure why that is. Hope it helps :)

Ah yes no problem, you pull the r2 trigger and select your spellbook. Then push square to prepare your spells. Here you can take old spells out like disguise by pressing the X button and select new ones with X also.

great video with great vibes my only issue so far has been that the radial menus love to rearrange themselves, specifically on my wizard. I swap prepared spells a lot to make use of rituals and optimize for scenarios, which usually messes with my custom radials. Changing my gear does this too. Is there a way to lock my radials layout or otherwise avoid the unwanted rearranging?

Good video! Was hoping to see a full control scheme for PS5 before the release. If you don’t mind some feedback: You have a very relaxing voice, but unfortunately it drowns in the music, and the volume could have been a bit higher. Your voice is drowned by the noises from the controller too. Thank you for showing off BG3 with the controller!

Thank you so much, also the feedback is truly welcome. I indeed noticed that afterwards that it was much quieter then usual and I have a hard time hearing it myself on anything but headphones. The controller forced me a bit far from the microphone and my setup needs some tinkering. Also the sounds of the controller were produced by the application I was using but I turned those down for the next one. 😀

One thing I have not figured out, how to easily recast hex without using a spellslot. Do I need to keep the "add new spells to radial" active for that? Because It does always remove when I do add the bonus button for it

I believe that they added it now to the hex subradial wheel, they did it with some other spells I could recast aswel. So check within the hex radial if its not there. I need to check it myself when I get a chance to jump on the game.

I wish I would’ve seen this when I first started playing. I’m not sure if it’s mentioned here but I’ll say it just in case: when toggling tooltips on items that have other effects where u want to see the tooltip inside the tooltip (on m&k just click the word and it’ll pop up another tooltip), click the touchpad :)

I am not sure if I fully understand. To leave the game you just press the button in the middle of the controller. You also turn of the TV or screen independently of the game or ps5.

Has anyone figured out how to use bags in controller mode? I use bags to sort my gear, potions and spell scrolls with mouse.

The only way I figured out how to do it is to go into your camp chest and push r1 it was I believe to open your inventory and move the bag to your inventory and open it there and move it over what you want inside it. Maybe there is another way I haven't discovered jet.

Yes it feels pretty good actually plus you you get to lean back a bit, I find it more comfortable.

@@TissyTheBanshee I started on the steam deck via GeForce now and M/KB. It’s really tedious to have to click to walk everywhere. But things like inventory management and sometimes interacting with certain things in the environment is easier on a mouse but I still prefer this method. Besides I was limited to 1080p on GeForce now so the 1440p definitely looks a ton better

Yes you can give npc to your friend. You go to multiplayer and you can select with x and move the portrait with the left stick over to your friend

How can you DROP items and arrange them in specific areas? Like placing explosives around an enemy?

That is a good question, you do this by selecting move inside your inventory and then you can move it around wit the left stick and place them down with X.

Hm, Do you mean scrolls? Spells are generally not transferable unless they are part of a piece of equipment. Generally sending scrolls over to other character works with square and then send to the character you want to, that said you can use the item from any party members inventory so its not so important who has them as long as they are not in camp.

The R3 button makes it visible. I think when sneaking it becomes visible too. You do this by holding d-pad down.

I will be the unpopular opinion here, but despite the video itself being really helpful [for which I'd like to express my most honest gratitude🙏], listening to it almost literally hurt my ears and brain.🙉 The sound of the controller buttons is actually louder than your voice.😧

How do you throw potions to your mates?

You have to select throw from your inventory. You go there by pulling R2 and select character sheet. Then you find the healing potion and press square, then select throw. Its funny I am just makig a video and this is in it aswel. Should come out tonight or tomorrow :)

So you only pull the r2 to open this wheel?? Do I have to hold it or only one time? I was looking for hours for a journal yesterday and couldn't find it. I see this wheel for the first time. This is so ridiculousl the game don't tell you how open a journal. I was going to get crazy 😂

Yes there is very little in terms of handholding with the buttons at the start. You don't have to hold it. You just pull it once. And then you can use the left stick to pick what you need from the shortcut menu. There is a quicker way to open the journal though, you can just hold the touchpad. This was not included in the video unfortunately.

I just started playing on my PS5. Holding X to search is much better than trying to position myself at the right spot. Also long down for group sneak and short up for jump is great. Thanks for showing me this. Is there a way to show how much I am encumbered? I understand PC version has a scale but I can’t find it on PS5…

Thank you! Happy it was helpful! That is a good question. I usually see when I am encumbered in the yellow weight sign that pops up next to my character portrait when pulling L2. As to check the actual weight I am not sure right now, I need to check it later today when I can play again :).

I am wondering about this aswel. Not all games have this supported. To my knowledge they couldn't implement it for divinity 2 neither because of the UI differences or something.

@@atomspar In some regards controller is even better I find, but I think this comes down to personal preference, its allways nice if we would have both options open to us on ps5.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree with you. There is something I need to figure out with my mic since I was further away from the screen then with mouse and keyboard. The sounds were emulated by the application I was using, but I have that ironed out for the next one :).

Thanks for sharing that, thats interesting to know! I never realised it was not there, I tried to find it but Indeed you're right. I can in single player see where people are in pov though, I am surprised it doesn't work in multiplayer.

The controller is good for many reasons but not for picking stuff up also there is delay from controller to mouse which is annoying.

Yea, I do like when looting I can just press triangle though, on mouse I have to move my mouse over to select loot all, or maybe there is a quick key for this on m&k aswel? What I found a little cumbersome on controller was to move items from one place to another a bit I was trying to organise in chest and it does take some getting used to. Yes I have done that before aswel switching between the 2 and there is a delay for the UI to change. But it works :)

Thank you and thanks for the feedback! Yes the audio turned out to be much quieter then I first anticipated. I am trying to pay attention to it in my future content, i made a part 2 on this video I think it is better audio wise.
