Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha MT is the petrol variant in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno lineup and is priced at ₹ 10.42 Lakh.It returns a certified mileage of 22.3 kmpl. This Alpha MT variant comes with an engine putting out 88 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4400 rpm of max power and max torque respectively. Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha MT is available in Manual transmission and offered in 6 colours: Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Luxe Beige, Opulent Red and Arctic White.

I bought Baleno Alpha AMT in March 2023 in Rs.12 lacs (including accessories, RTO charges, road tax, insurance) . I have driven it 3000 kms so far. My monthly running is around 1000 kms (70% highway & 30% city). Here's what I found - PROS - 1) Spacious cabin with ample legroom for rear occupants 2) Sufficient boot space with hydraulic tailgate 3) Auto dimming IRVM 4) Excellent headlights 5) Very silent refined engine CONS - 1) I regret buying AMT because it gives mileage of 18 to 20 kmpl. I have checked tank to tank mileage many times. I drive with lightfoot and never cross 80 kmph speed. Still it is giving so less mileage as compared to manual version. One of my friend has Baleno manual version & it gives him mileage of 23 to 24 kmpl. 2) No youtuber will tell you this but the rear part of Baleno (near rear grab handles) is bulkier. So when I try to do reverse parking, it creates a blind spot in ORVMs and hampers judgement. 3) IRVM and infotainment screen are so close that it creates a big blind spot on windshield. 4) Manual car gives you confidence that you can control car even at high speeds. But that is not case with AMT. 5) Front seats have good lower back support but equally bad mid back support. 6) Auto start stop system is very irritating. Though Maruti claims that engine will stop 15 seconds after pressing the brakes, in reality engine stops after 3 seconds or 5 seconds. 7) Mirrors should have been slightly bigger

I own a Baleno Zeta MT 2022 . There is one issue which nobody has pointed........that is....the rearview mirror is placed bang on the windscreen which puts you in a blind spot when you look at the centre of the screen. I am 5'10, and this placement of the rearview mirror on the windscreen (& not on the roof panel above the windscreen) is bad placement. I would like to know your & owners' feedback if you are owning the new Baleno Zeta MT variant.

@@ashokvanrashi Bro, Having driven over 1800 km in the last 3 months on Nashik city traffic, Nashik-Mumbai; Nashik - Surat- Kevadiya; in the monsoon, pot-filled roads, as well as NH, I am getting a steady 20.3 km average. Each time I fill 10 litres of petrol, the car shows a potential 280 km drive possibility, which to a large extent is correct. The fuel efficiency is good. The engine is smooth and quiet.

Great review mate. My wife and father can only drive an automatic car. Mostly city drive around 8000-10000 km per year. Does it make sense to buy AMT Baleno for 10 lakh? If it was CVT, I would have bought this immediately.

See maruti has really upgraded it's ags amt it's better than before in terms of smoothness. U go for a test drive and see if u like it. It's easy to maintain plus fuel efficient.

As per tata person prateek singh his been putting his videos on his channels that how car is damaged after accidents and people agree on him…..but the fact is global ncap or any organisation it measures safety ratings not on damage on car but how it impacts to the adults and childrens in the car

Much batter than i20 because no one can find major con in i20 and its about 3rd gear is very slow and car feedback literally stop and u feel that car wont go beyond this speed. Nervous feel in 3rd a d 4th gear. In baleno or glanza u feel car says push me more in 3rd and 4th gear. Car can go triple digits speed easily.

The same thing I felt in new i20's 3rd gear. Rest of the gears are ok. But the 3rd gear was really lagging. In Baleno, that I not felt.

Hi, I have recently purchased the new Baleno 2022 AMT petrol top end variant. I have driven it for about 800km, and I am getting a terrible mileage. I am barely getting a mileage of 9kmpl. Just wait for the first service it'll get better. Rest check your driving style and habits maybe there is something like sudden acceleration or frequent braking that might be causing this.

@@dreamwheelsindia First servicing is done. I raised a complaint and it was still showing 12.8 kmpl in their mileage test that they did. My main concern is that everyone I check with is getting about 15kmpl from the start in city. I am getting about 40% lower mileage

Buy the alpha variant cz you can't install the 360 degree camera , 6 airbags and Headsup display from after market. Choose wisely if you can stretch extra ₹1 lakh

Well not that much but definitely it helps you out in Touring. I only said if you can stretch otherwise go for Zeta Variant. Because these can't be install from after market.

bhai altroz is an awesome car, but the service support of tata is horrendous...my friend sold his Tiago because of this and my brother is suffering from the Nexon issues...nexon is a fab fab car, but ha;f of the service techinicians in tata are not at all trained in servicing ....this is the reason why I shortlisted either i20 or Baleno, finally went ahead and booked Baleno...

Altroz is also a good car. I owned Altroz and after selling it, I bought New Baleno Alpha MT. Service centre Experience was worst for me for Tata. You are spending your hard earned money, so take test drive the vehicles as much as you can, then decide as per your need. Everyone has his/ her own opinion, so choose wisely.

Just Booked my Luxe Beige Baleno Alpha Manual today...90 days waiting....anyways wish me luck .....my first ever car....but i also love i20....both are fab cars....and right now, the prices between baleno and i20 are almost identical.... infact if you ask me, i20 is more VFM....for same price it is giving you a bigger touchscreen, Bose Sound system compared to Arkamys....a sunroof.....yes Baleno has a 360 cam and a HUD..but I would prefer the feature list of i20.... it's just that where I live the maruti network is much stronger and the workshop and this dealership is next door and also a friend of mine had an i20 elite and she told me her ownership experience was subpar in terms of reliability of the car...so i choose baleno...and also in this Luxe Beige colour, the Baleno just looks top notch..even better than i20 imho.... but of course looks are subjective....I agree with most of your points..I test road both of them for over 10 kms...multiple times....before making a choice...the tractability of baleno's engine is much better than i20...in terms of Naturally Aspirated options...i20 does have better high speed stability and brakes...but in terms of space, i20 is more spacious, sure the boot is a little smaller, but the rear seat space is unmatched, even putting some sub compact SUVs to shame... i20 also has a lot of creature comforts such as wireless charger, air purifier and the list goes on....Baleno does have slightly better seats... it's almost inseparable, like king kong vs godzilla.... anyways both are fantastic cars, anyone will be happy with either...and both are evenly priced as well with good dealer/service network and very acceptable ownership costs...i20 was released in 2019, maybe it is due for a minor update... fyi your realistic hands on coverage was more useful than the stereotypical reviews...good job brother!

Nice points you have pointed out. I was also confused between i20 asta & New Baleno Alpha. It was really a difficult situation for me to choose between these 2 . Finally, I went for Baleno, no regret for a single time after owing it for 5 months. I just miss the Bose sound of i20, nothing else. Arkamys surrounding Sound is also superb but Bose is Bose. You will not regret after owing Baleno, I can say it from my own experience. Congratulations in Advance. By d way mine is in Nexa Blue, this time Baleno's Blue colour looks awesome.

Will keep you posted on the delivery. if you don't mind me asking, what is the service cost and the fuel economy that you are getting? and also, there's a prejudice among poeple with maruti cars having rattling noise just a few months after ownership, is that the case with this Baleno?
