(EN/中文/Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia) Jalan jalan and makan makan (eating & exploring) at one of Bali's popular night markets: Pasar Kreneng in Denpasar area. We had so much fun and all the local snacks were so yummy!!! Enak! We were so stuffed by the end of the night. This was an amazing night for us out in Bali. We drove down to Denpasar and our Balinese friend recommended we check out Pasar Kreneng. It blew our minds! I haven't been to a pasar malam since i was a very young kid growing up in Singapore in the Tiong Bahru area. This totally brought back super nostalgic memories and I finally got to try all the amaze-balls looking snacks in the Pasar Malam (my mom was usually not enthusiastic about us kids eating anything in the pasar malams when we visited lol) Childhood wonders revisited in the form of colorful sticks of mozza cheese and sausages ( i think they're corn dogs? but i'm still not sure. The vendor called them some kinda sticks), Jasuke - so simple but so delicious, and Balinese traditional Jaja cakes were a total and complete treat, and with such interesting names like Lak Lak, Giling Giling, Pisang Rai etc. Food is obviously such a huge part of Indonesian and Balinese culture and its so awesome exploring this part of the local budaya 👍🏼

Having worked before in Singapore, I can relate as to why you feel the life there or other similar places is not for you. I admire you stepping out of it to find what actually makes you happy. Most Singaporeans feel too much inertia to leave like you, as a result I read it is one of the world's unhappiest place. Too much emphasis on materialism, status and their definition of success. A perpetual treadmill of keeping up with others that you never get off. The day I left was one of my happiest, until now 30 years later. BTW, everything is so low cost in Bali compared to here in the US. You made a pretty good choice. Hawaii costs folds more. I appreciate your well made, stable and interesting videos. Thanks for the effort.

Thanks Steven for the kind comment. Yes u got me quite exactly. Singapore is such a tiring place n so one dimensional n driven by govt agenda. It’s also a great place to live if one values stability n safety n all that stuff but at the same time that’s not for everyone. I got lucky in my bid to escape that life. I actually made it to where I want to be. R u in Hawaii then?

@@JeanVoronkova Hawaii is certainly a possible eventual destination, but for now I live on the west coast with seasons. 1. Mozarella with batter coated 2. Cassava chips 3. Corn milk cheese = jagung susu keju (jasuke) 4 banana, tapioca and sticky rice, topped with local brown sugar, some stalls add with shreeded steam coconut. Certain cities have different names for such platter 5 Fruit ice = iced tropical fruits with condensed milk

Singapore is great when one is visiting as a tourist, not so fun when one is living and working there, but this is merely my opinion n based on my personality lol. Indo is awesome! Loving the nature, people and food!
