Ball and dummy drills with Sig P250

A continuation of the ball and dummy drill that I was doing last week. This time, I’m putting follow up shots on the plate prior to returning to holster. This is a great drill to not only help you see any errors you have in your trigger press but it also gives you practice clearing malfunctions.
Speaking of malfunctions, you will note that in the second magazine I had a failure to eject that caught me by surprise. The large amount of smoke that came from the pistol was a pretty strong indication that something was amiss. Most likely a light powder charge in that particular cartridge. Even factory loaded ammunition can have problems.

Nice video. I especially like your attitude toward training. People can get the impression from watching gun videos on KZfaq that everyone else is a low drag, high-speed, former spec ops commando training 6 days a week. Honestly, it can be quite demoralizing when you try to make fist-sized groups from 5 yards. BTW, I like the SIG P250. Picked up a compact sized, used in .40cal (couldn't find the 9mm) and has been a great gun. Extremely reliable, easy to clean (the FCU comes right out the frame) and as you said, very accurate when you get used to the trigger. The trigger may be long but it is extremely smooth. Keep the videos coming. subbed

newrunner91 Thank you for the kind words. You’ve really hit the nail on the head. A lot of us (myself included) can be daunted by the plethora of highly skilled shooters we see online. We strive to be at that level on our first outing and obviously, we are not. I liken it to playing a musical instrument. Hendrix didn’t pick up a guitar one afternoon and record brick house the next. He dedicated himself to his craft and over years he was able to become a master. This is no different.
